Rick Page Quality Landscaping

There was a retaining wall in my backyard (approx 5ft high x 2 or 3 that in length) that was leaning outward. I found Rick Page through a BigDeal offering a $1500.00 landscaping package, we agreed to $1700.00 after he saw the job. He was very upfront about when he'd be able to do the work & much to my delight was actually able to do it earlier than planned. He & his team were great! Very polite, considerate, professional & did everything as agreed to. They even hauled away some extra blocks I had stacked - Rick remembered that I had asked on our first meeting. We already discussed some soft landscaping for next year.

Rick was responsive and professional from the start. I told him up front that I liked his AngiesList reviews and that I felt like I could trust his opinion and pricing. He did the work in one day, no issues, and the price was very competitive. End product looks great.

Rick was very responsive to my first email, called me a day later and made an appt to come out and estimate the job. He was on time and very professional. He listened to our needs, responded the next day with an estimate which we accepted, and came out 3 weeks later to do the job! We have asked for another estimate for a wall that is giving us some problems. We look forward to working with Rick again in the future, I have recommended him to several family members who will also be calling him!! Great job, we are more than satisfied, it is exactly what we wanted!

I contacted Rick Page early in the year to plan for help with our yard. He was great at responding and continuing to communicate until the work needed to be done. Rick Page and his crew are top notch professionals. They give you a price and they stick by it, even if some modifications need to be made for customer satisfaction. They are timely, honest, efficient and personable. They came when they said they were going to come, and they did what they said that they were going to do. It is hard to find reliable professionals in this business. Rick Page is definitely someone who you can trust will do an A+ job!

Rick made some suggestions on the design which we agreed upon and while he was here suggested that we place the gutter drain under ground. ( Very happy for that!) I contacted Rick in late December about doing the job but all this time we were plagued with Snow, Rain, Sleet and every other kind of bad weather. Finally he called and said Friday (4/26/13) he would be here at 9 AM. He and his crew showed up at 8:40 AM worked till after 5:00 PM cleaned every thing up and left. He and the crew were very professional, They were very neat in their work ethics.

Rick and his crew did an amazing job. I can't believe they completed so much in just one day. Not only did he complete everything in the proposal, but his crew went above and beyond - they even cut the grass and edged all over, which was a surprise. We moved into the house last year and the landscaping needed a LOT of love and Rick and his crew really made it look 1,000 times better. Rick thought it'd take a day and possibly part of a second, but they showed up on time in the morning and got everything done by early afternoon. They even worked with us as we tweaked the plan by having some rose bushes removed from the other side of our house and kept some of the remaining flowers/plants. The communication was great with Rick. I never had trouble reaching him. When he and I were not able to connect on the phone, he called me back the same day and we emailed back and forth as well. We definitely feel like we got our money's worth and more from Rick and his crew. They cleaned up after themselves - and then some. I hadn't had the chance yet to really do much to my yard for the first time this spring (cut the grass, rake leaves, pick up debris, etc), but these guys did it all for me. So, they took the extra time to pay attention to detail and really make the entire yard (front and back and sides) look extremely sharp - like golf course quality detail. We are extremely happy with their work and we plan on using Rick and his crew again for future landscaping projects.

My experience with Rick Page was similar to another reviewer's. I contacted Rick to provide a quote for some landscaping based on some plans provided by a landscape architect. He was helpful and provided suggestions on how to stage the construction to stay within my budget. He left with a promise to get me an estimate soon. Two weeks later, I called him and he told me he would get the quote to me the next day. I have not heard back from him since. I am very disappointed and will not hire someone who lacks the professionalism to follow through with his promise or to tell me he didn't want to do the work for whatever reason. I have chosen another service provider and will not be contacting Rick Page for any future work.

Overall, it was a most pleasant experience for my husband and myself. They arrived on time, they worked all day, none of them took any real breaks except a quick bite to eat or for some ice water that I provided. When the work was done which required more muddy, heavy lifting than I would ever try, the cleaned the area beautifully and I cannot think of a single thing I would change in the job that they performed. I am not interested in band of neighbors but I would be more than happy to share my experience with Angie's List in terms of providing a reference or phone conversation with anyone interested in Rick's services as Angie's List deems appropriate.

Called Rick Page for an estimate on getting some stairs replaced as the ones we had were railroad ties and rotting away. Wanted him to replace all the ties, and put up two sections of stone wall. Called on a Saturday, left a message - he returned my call on the next Tuesday. I explained the work to Rick and he said he could come out to give me an estimate that Thursday at 6:30. He never showed up to give the estimate and never called back! Very unprofessional. I would not recommend him to show up for a job, if he can't even call to let you know he can't keep his appointment.

The work did not start for several months because of the delays with the cement work and the weather, but when the weather started improving he called and to review the job, and started as soon as weather permitted. He came at the time he said he would, with 4 other workers, and they completed the work in less than 2 days, exactly as designed, with some additional small items - such as removing more shrubs that were in the way. They had very good equipment, worked well as a team and when they left the curb appeal and functionality of our driveway, front and back yards was greatly enhanced. If you need this kind of work I strongly recommend him based on his performance with us!

Mr. Page was very accessible for an estimate and made an appointment to start the job in a very short period of time. Work was done quickly and efficiently, with consideration of the neighbor, whose driveway had to be accessed. I'm very happy with the results.

Rick Page's son Alan did a wonderful job. He was here at 9:00 as promised and finished up at 4:00. I was very pleased with the results. Basically he reseated and realigned/releveled our decorative brick around various areas in the front yard and spread new red mulch for us that we provided.

My husband and I wanted some work done on our yard and I emailed Rick. He responded to it appropriately the next day, I gave him my availability and then I didn't hear from him for probably another week. I was going to call him myself, but he beat me to it and called, left a message on my phone that he wanted to speak with me about my schedule. I called back, we set up a time to meet which was Monday March 4 at 1pm. He never showed up, never called, never emailed. We left for a weekend away and then when I came home, I had another message on my phone from Rick saying the same thing. That he wanted to know my availability to come out and look at the project. Like he had never spoken to me before and not mentioning that he had missed an appointment with me. I talked it over with my husband and thought I should give him a call and the husby said "No, because what if he says he will do it and then doesn't show up like he did the first time?" If Rick forgot that he had an appointment, then he forgot and thats fine. But call, email, do something that acknowledges that you forgot. I just don't think he's very organized or very reliable just by the little interaction I have had with him. Update: Rick did email me to apologize for missing the appointment, but he said the appointment on Monday MArch 11...the appointment was for the 4th. While I admire his willingness to apoligize, I don't think he has it together.

Overall, it was a huge disappointment. I purchased a Big Deal for a consultation and Landscape plan. Rick performed the consultation, but failed to deliver the plan. I would not recommend his services

Have not gotten a chance to utilize this deal as of yet, due to weather conditions.

The very start of the contact turned me off.

Rick Page and Brian O'Donnell came out and discussed the project with me. My old railroad tie retaining wall was rotting and falling down. They were very professional and did not try to oversell. We discussed a variety of options and the lower cost option of using landscape timber seemed the most appropriate for my needs. They were able to start the work within the week and the price was the best bid I had received by far. Rick, Brian and the crew showed up exactly when they said they would, were extremely professional, worked hard, cleaned up at the end of the day and were done in 3 days. Additionally they trimmed some nut trees, re-mulched the back and removed a planters box. They also flattened out the planting area. They put down pea gravel and extended the area where I put my garbage and recycling cans.

Rick's team did an outstanding job. Not only did exactly what I wanted them to but also came up with thoughtful suggestions in order to make the project a big success.

Rick came to determine what we had in mind for using the deal we had paid for. We pointed out the area that we wanted cleared of overgrowth. He then recommended what could be done to make that area more presentable and require less maintenance in the future. He said that since he believed there would be some of the 32-hours of labor left over that he would be able to weed, clear and clean up the rest of the landscaping around our house. We agreed on the details, with the work to be completed in the next few weeks. About 2 weeks later, Rick and a crew of workers showed up at about 9 AM. They proceeded to mow, weed whack, clear and clean, and haul away the debris. Rick stated he would return in the Spring to make further recommendations and provide an estimate for another project we had mentioned. We were more than just pleased with the work that was done. He is the type of contractor that one hopes to get but usually does not; thus, Angies List works....quality, professionalism at a good value.

After calling numerous landscapers and receiving three estimates we chose Rick to do our work. He was straightforward and offered a very reasonable suggestion for also fixing our porch steps for a nominal charge. He brought several helpers so that the work could be completed quickly. In one day the wall was taken down and rebuilt along with the step repair. They cleaned up wonderfully and came the next day with mulch for the area in need. They also removed and disposed of three overgrown shrubs. The wall looks great now and in the spring we will be able to replant. We were very happy with the work and would use Rick again for any additional landscaping.

They removed the logs from the patio but did not place them along the fence in the rear of the yard as I requested. And they did not return any logs to the patio. They did not follow many instructions and did not follow through with instructions to me for watering 2 trees and other plantings. I am 78 years old and unable to scamper around the back yard with hoses. I asked them to take care of that. They returned once and poured buckets of water at the bases of the trees but I had to have some one else set up hoses that I could manage from the patio. Their tree planting did not include preparation of the soil in a recommended manner. They just dug a hole the size of the root ball and placed the trees in. There was no loosening of the surround. In the front, they took out elderly yews but didn't dig out any roots and although they laid mulch in the planted areas, there was no loosening of soil under the mulch. Plants were placed in the smallest hole possible and many died. In addition, it seemed that the plants they put in were very cheap (many ordinary hostas) and foundation planting was not done until I noticed that the area looked awful. Then they put in 6 small rhododendron plants and these show no evidence of growing but they are not dead. The entire front area needed to be redone to the tune of around$2000.00 I had given them the job on the basis of your recommendation.

Rick wasn't able to help with my project needs. He was nice and helpful although he couldn't do what I needed.

Purchased a Big Deal fo $1,399. The work completed was more than worth the price. Rick and his crew arrived on time. They arrived at 8:00 am and worked very hard to approximately 4:00 pm without a break. It was a very pleasant experience working with Rick and his crew. They were very professional. I would hopefully be able to have Rick come back in the Spring and do more work. I would recommend Rick to other people interested in haveing landscaping done.

I would definately recomment their services.

Rick was prompt in coming to see the area and with his quote. The job was done very quickly. His team was neat and professional. The result exceeded my expectations.
