Honestly, all I found were the receipts. Couldn't read one word off the receipt. No idea what he actually did. For what he charged, he should have rewired the whole house. I found several other receipts over from the past few years and this guy flat out robbed my elderly aunt repeatedly. No other way to put it. Disgraceful.
Description of Work: My aunt needed several small items repaired

I called my home warranty home that was included in my home purchase in late 2013 and they sent Rich Cardillo. I had lost power to my rear motion sensor and an outdoor GFCI outlet that sits about 4 feet directly below the motion sensor. The outlet and sensor are located outside my attached 2 car garage between the 2 single car doors. Rich showed up and asked for my $45 warranty co-pay. He then started by taking the switch apart which makes sense, saw it was working and put it back on. He then checked the GFCI outlet, he said that was fine and put it back on. After an hour he says I have a short somewhere between the switch and outlet, but doesn't know where. He then tells me he needs to go to his truck which is parked on the street in front of my driveway about 90 feet from where he was working. After about 5 minutes of sitting in his truck he just left. I figured he was going to get parts or whatever. After about 2 hours I called to see when he would back, he said "I'm not finishing the work" and hung up on me. I called the home warranty company they said they had already paid him as well and they would call him. They called him back and he told them as well that he would not finish the job. So the home warranty company calls and tells me not to pay him my co-pay, I said he already took it. When I got off the phone with the warranty company I called my bank to put a stop p ayment on the check and the bank told me it was already cashed. Apparently he left my house and went straight to the bank to cash it. So he got payed by me and the warranty company, couldn't figure out why there was no power and didn't fix anything. By the way, a few of the wires in the motion sensor came loose and melted. That caused to power to trip. He never even checked the sensor.
Description of Work: Attempted to diagnose why I lost power to and outdoor GFCI outlet.

Way over priced, but I didn't get an estimate so I was asking to be ripped off and Rich obliged. $750 for 2 hours. What does he think he is a lawyer?
Description of Work: Fixed a few outlets, installed a new light fixture, fixed another.

He was friendly and made small talk, so I was comfortable. He would suggest different things that I needed. He purchased globes that I did not ask for, but I was okay with that at first. He did not give me any kind of estimate, so I was extremely surprised when I got the invoice. I had no choice but to pay the bill. When asking friends about it, I did find out that it was way too overpriced. He only worked for about two and a half hours in my home and I feel taken advantage of.
Description of Work: He installed new switches in my stairway landing. He replaced some wiring and a couple of lighting globes.

Rich arrived on time and performed the work as scheduled. The quality of the installation was good. However, his estimate was 20% less than the actual charge. Moreover, and worst of all, Rich charged me $400 for installation of this "whole house surge protector" that others here have complained about. I came to find out (here on Angie's List and through a visit to a hardware store) that this item costs about $40. Although knowledgeable and capable of good work, he seems to be ripping off people with this surge protector and who knows what else.
Description of Work: Rich was asked to upgrade my service to 150A box and replace 4 knob and tube circuits with modern romex. I was suckered (as the other reviewers were) into a "whole house surge protector".

Rich took forever to install a ceiling fan, dropping tools and running out to his van every few minutes for another tool, took him forever, then he insisted I need a whole house surge protecter and said it would be "a couple of bucks"....he charged me 900.00. I contacted the BBB, but they couldn't do anything as he's not a member. He's known for ripping people off and I've heard from another electrician that theres' a class action lawsuit against him for doing this sort of thing to his customers. Don't use him.
Description of Work: Ceiling Fan and then he insisted on doing a whole house surge protector.

There are three levels of surge protectors, and he charged me for the highest level. After doing some research myself, I found that the surge protector only costs $50-$60 retail and was actually in the class of the lowest level of surge protectors. He flat out lied to me about the quality of product he was installing and overcharged me by $700. I have tried to call him time and time again and he is not answering the phone (he knows my number) nor does he return any of my phone calls. I want the $700 back or I will take him to court.
Description of Work: I hired him to install a surge protector in my home. He quoted me a price of $750 for the cost of the surge protector.
