I bought the Big Deal coupon to have a ceiling fan installed in the kitchen. Erik arrived early and he was able to get the ceiling fan installed very quickly. I asked him for a quote to install two kitchen lights and since it was such a fair price I had him install those lights as well. Very pleased with the work; I would definitely use Renaissance Electric again in the future.

Erik arrived a few weeks earlier for an estimate. He then scheduled the appt, and arrived promptly. He is a consummate professional-intelligent, friendly, articulate, well versed in his profession and a skilled technician. He is honest and I felt very comfortable as a single woman having him in my home while working. He keeps in contact with you throughout the project if you step out for an errand. The work was done today, and everything is working fantastically. I can't say enough about his work ethic, skills and great personality. His pricing was incredible for being here for almost 3 hours! He is an asset to Pittsburgh (via Long Island!!) I highly recommend his company.

I was looking for an electrician to evaluate several projects and concerns that i had, and decided to try Renaissance Electric based on the reviews that i had seen on Angies List. Erik called back immediately after I submtted a request from Angies, and we made an appointment for him to come out and look at my concerns. Erik was extremely knowledgable, professional and also very down to earth. He took a lot of time to look at each of my concerns, and helped to educate me a bit on electricity and helped me to make the correct decisions for me and my family. He helped me to see which concerns or projects needed immediate attention, and which could wait or perhaps didn't need to be done at all. He made me aware that my house was not properly grounded, which was leading to some of my issues, and based on plans i had for the future he helped me to decide that i should upgrade my electrical service from 100 to 150 amps while the other work was being done, which would save me money in the future. Erik answered questions that i had on whole house surge protection, and i decided to have that included in the work as well. Erik pointed out several areas, near water, where i needed GFCI's but didn't currently have them. He included that in the work at no extra charge, and even upgraded from a standalone GFCI to one in the service panel because it was difficult to access that outlet due to a mounted television in the kitchen. This was more costly to Erik, but he felt it was the best approach, and did not charge me more for it. For each of the projects, Erik gave me choices and answered any questions that i had but never pressured me to choose one option or the other, but seemed more concerned that i understand the options and choose what i felt was right for me. He even offered suggestions on where to purchase the exterior light fixtures that i wanted him to replace. When they came to do the work both Erik and Mick were very professional, and were very understanding of the 3 big dogs that i had in the house - working around them, and using extra care to be sure doors and gates were always closed. I've called Erik several times, since the work, with questions and he has always returned my calls immediately and explained in detail any question or concern that i had. He even returned, just today, to adjust one of the exterior lights that i was concerned about, and did not charge anything additional for this! I couldn't be happier with the work that Erik and Renaissance Electric did, and they will be my Electricians from now on! I've already recommended them to family and friends, and only wish that i had found them sooner (rather than putting off some of this work for so long).

I wish I had found Erik when I needed electrical work done a few years ago! He's very courteous, prompt, professional and explained in detail about the surge protector. I had a few questions and was glad I did because we found my house was not properly grounded! Erik is coming back next week to do the proper grounding outside. After a little checking we found the house is properly grounded. Erik kindly answered a lot of questions I had-I like to be an informed home owner, and he was happy to help! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Erik for any electrical needs- service, safety and customer satisfaction are number one with him. It's a relief to know if I need electrical work I can count on Erik for the job to be done right, and at a fair price.

It was so refreshing to have a professional respond to an issue on a weekend and come and fix it within an hour. Other companies have been giving me the run a round telling me to call them on Friday and then call again on Saturday and then it takes 2 weeks just for them to arrive. After spending so much time on these other shysters, I looked on line and saw this company highly recommended so I gave them a shot. I couldn't;t have been happier. The service was professional, quick, efficient, clean, and friendly. He explained all of the issues in laments terms and made me feel comfortable about the decision I made. He also gave me advice on the cheapest way to solve my problem without him doing all of the work. I have already recommended him to several family and friends.

Eric is a real professional. Choosing how to wire and set up the transfer switch turned out to be a real challenge because I own a duplex, there are two separate electric fuse systems in the house, I live upstairs and many of the circuits to the upstairs are run through another fuse box upstairs, there are laws that must be followed, etc. Long story short, Eric was able to, and was happy to take the time to, problem solve to come up with various alternatives about how to set up the transfer switch, which led to what I believe is the best solution for me. He was also very knowledgeable advising me about the pros and cons of which generator to buy. His advice was as valuable as his work. The work was done professionally, and it looks good. Eric made an extra trip back to my house to show me how to work the system and to test everything out. He had good advice about storage and maintenence of the generator and gasoline. Eric really knows his stuff and is a good communicator. His price includes a warranty for his work. I would definitely use Eric again.

My husband and I purchead a ceiling fan to replace the old one in our master bedroom. we were not looking forward to installing it since we estimated it would take both of us 2 to 4 hours to get the job done. I saw the Angie's list deal for a ceiling fan install and jumped on it. I can't be more happy with Renaissance Electric. Erik was great. He called as soon as i purchased the deal from Angie's list. He was very accomodating in scheduling a time on a weekend where i could be home to let him in the house. He arrived on time and started working right away. He was quick, friendly and done with the work in about 30 minutes (MUCH faster than 2 of us could have done it ourselves). I also discussed other modifications that we would like to do to the house eventually and there is no doubt I would use Renaissance again and recomend them to everyone who asks for an electrician referral.

Erik showed up on time. He got the job done quickly. This was a simple installation of the surge suppressor, but based on my discussion with him during the job, I would call him if I needed a electrician for a problem in my home.

Many of our appliances were damaged by a power surge. As we began to replace the damaged items we decided to have a whole house surge protector installed. I contacted Renaissance Electric and spoke with Erik. A short time later Erik arrived at our house and inspected our breaker box prior to installing a surge protector. As a representative of Renaissance Electric, Erik was very accommodating and professional. We will contact Renaissance Electric for any future electrical service.

Erik arrived promptly as scheduled, even called ahead of time as I asked. He introduced himself, explained what he was going to do, looked over my service panel, and proceded to install the surge suppressor. He answered all my questions and when he finished he went over everything he did, how it operated, and warranty procedure. It went very well. They arrived on time and completed the job within five hours. they also, cleaned up very good.

On one of the hottest days of the summer (90+ and humid) when we plugged in our room air conditioners, we blew a circuit and were unable to turn it back on, leaving us without power to 2 bedrooms. We called Renaissance Electric, opting to pay the emergency rate, and Eric came immediately and took care of the problem. Our plugs were old and we had charring inside of 2 of them; Eric replaced them and while assessing the problem, he advised us that due to the age and condition of our outlets, that we have all of the plugs and switches in the entire house replaced. The work was scheduled for a later date. Due to the danger and urgency of not getting the situation corrected swiftly, we did not get additional estimates. We also added on quite a bit of additional work (see above). The entire job took 3 full days to complete. They came on the specified dates with both Eric and Mick working on the job; sometimes one worked alone and sometimes they were both there completing the job. Both Eric and Mick were very professional, knowledgable, and friendly, and they worked extremely hard to complete the job. They were very accommodating to all of our needs and were a pleasure to deal with. We had to move furniture in every room so they could get to the plugs. We have a huge, heavy, solid oak china closet in the dining room which we were unable to move ourselves. They moved it for us and returned it to its original position after they replaced the outlet behind it. I would not hesitate to recommend Renaissance Electric and would use them again if the need arises.

I blew a pushmatic fuse in my breaker late Friday night. I called Saturday morning. Erik fit us in and arrived promptly at noon, when he said he would. He replaced the breaker and installed two new switches in our bathroom and one in a bedroom in a half hour or so. The whole thing was painless. I would definitely use Renaissance again.

Erik Lowry of Renaissance Electric has completed electrical jobs in our condo in the past of which we were very satisfied with the work. This time he addressed issues within our individual unit. He was prompt in answering my phone calls, worked within a reasonable timeframe, provided multiple estimates related to our budget and safety concerns, and was professional the entire time.

Eric and his crew were wonderful. I submitted a request for a quote on Eric's website and he called me back later that day to set up an appointment. He came out to our house and took a look at what we wanted done and gave us a very reasonable quote for the work (detailed above). They showed up on time and worked very diligently throughout the afternoon, even notifying me when they discovered the water damage to our existing box and discussed some ancillary issues they discovered related to that. I will be bringing Eric and his crew out later this week to work on those other discovered issue as well. Eric completely understood my needs and my considerations - aestetically and whatnot. While during the quote he couldn'd represent that he would be able to run the 220 line through the wall, he discovered the wall was accessible through the drop ceiling and ran the line to the newly installed outlet which maintained the aestetic look of my finished laundry room. Additionally, our electrical box is located inside our guest bedroom inside a box constructed out of 1x4's that were covered with textured wallpaper and painted with nice stained wooden shutters for doors. Eric warned that he may not be able to save the that box because of the size of the new electrical box he would be installing. Yet, he was able to install the new box higher inside that closet so that the aestetic look of our guest bedroom was not disturbed and our electrical box continues to be nicely hidden inside our guest bedroom behind the shutter doors. Even more so, I am about the furthest thing from an electrician and I understand very little of what needed to be done or what the issues were when they were discovered. Eric was very good at translating everything into layman speak so that I completely understood the work he was doing and the work he discovered needed to be done and explained the concerns he had with our current electrical box and electrical service (which was water damaged, rusted and corroded). As I said, I will be using him again later this week. I trust him implicitly and was very very pleased with the work he did.

I ordered the special deal on the Whole House Surge Protector. When the installer came, I found my house was not up to code and did not have a ground. So he came back a week later and installed one so the Surge Protector would work properly. He worked quickly and efficiently. He even arrived early. So I am happy with the work don by Renaissance Electric. My next review will be if it worked or not. But hopefully I will not even have to deal with that one.

Eric was very efficient on the first visit to install the surge protector. He also checked my electrical system, pointing out some inadequacies that should be upgraded. He then suggested that the needed work could be spread out over time if cost was an issue.

Eric arrived timely. Very cordial and professional individual. Discussed some issues and made some recommendations. Did not pressure for additional work.

I had purchased a new porch light to replace an old one that no longer worked, and needed to have it installed. I called 3 or 4 electricians that I found on Angie's List, and received a return call from Renaissance Electric within a hour or two after leaving them a voice mail. We set up an appointment for a few days later. Erik arrived a few minutes early, and had the work finished in less than half an hour. Erik answered my questions about the right light bulbs to use in the porch light, and also was able to help me make a decision about installing additional outdoor lighting. We also discussed the scope and costs of correcting some deficiencies in the electrical service to the house. Erik called a few days later to check in and make sure the porch light was working fine (it was). I was very pleased with the responsiveness and professionalism of this company, would use them again, and recommend them to others. And it's really great to have a working porch light again!

We had two outlets on one side of our duplex that were completely dead. Eric diagnosed the problem almost immediately and began laying out the options of what should be done and approximate cost for each option. The professionalism is top-notch. I found that when he pulled me away from my tenants to tell me about the issue that he not only has an understanding of his job, but the client as well. He informed me of any wall repair that would be needed after the job was completed. The day of the work he arrived five minutes before the scheduled appointment. Eric began his work and while in the process he fixed the problem without any repairs needed. It turned out that the fix cost was $200 less than originally thought. I used Renaissance Electric in response to an internet ad while I was a Kitchen Manager at Jerome Bettis' Grille 36 and I have always been happy with the work. Extremely Punctual, Very professional, on the phone and when he came to give the estimate. Showed up on time to do the work and told me every step of the way what he was doing and how much it would cost given all the trouble he ran into trying to find the junction box which had been walled in when a new ceiling had been put in. I was very pleased with the work and with Eric, the service man who did everything. I will use them again for sure.
