I bought the deal through Angies list at a great price . It was $849. A service panel upgrade with a whole house surge protector can run as much as $2000. Eric the owner came to my house to go over and explain the job.We then agreed on an installation date. He showed up on time on the agreed date(today). He was very professional and proficient .During the installation it was discovered that I had water leaking into my service panel from the entrance wire coming from my electric meter outside the house.I had no idea of this problem. It was a disaster waiting to happen ! Eric corrected the problem . I am so pleased with his work that I'm having him install some outdoor ground fault receptacles and motion detector lights.I would recommend Renaissance Electric to anyone .

Erik and his helper arrived on time and proceded to work. They were professional, courteous, and friendly. This is the second time I used Erik and wasn't disappointed in any way. I also referred him to my next door neighbor who had a major electrical problem which he agreed to repair. I will also refer Erik to my son-in-law who is having an electrical problem. I plan on using Erik next year when I add a portable generator to protect myself against a major loss of power. Erik is a definite communicty asset. I only wish more American companies shared half his professionalism, expertise, and HR skills. We'd definitely have far fewer problems. I highly recommend him.

Erik Lowry the business owner arrived with an assistant they were punctual, and extremely professional. They came in and began working on the installation immediately. The work was completed in the time frame quoted and the quality of the work is exceptional. The price was in line with the work performed, and they cleaned up once the service was completed. I highly recommend this electrician!

We purchased a whole house surge protector through Angie's List to be installed in one of our breaker boxes. We worked with Eric on this project. After working out a mutually agreeable day and time to have the work completed, Eric called the day of the install to confirm that he would be on time and arrived to the minute. Unfortunately, the protector we purchased would not fit in our box so he had to make a second trip. The day of the second trip, his GPS "hiccupped" and he actually called to let me know he might be 10 minutes late (he actually still arrived on time). For anyone that ever waited hours on a repairman, you know that kind of service and respect for your time NEVER happens nowadays. We are so impresses with both Eric and Renaissance Electric that we are in the process of hiring them to do more extensive work on our home. I would strongly recommend these guys if you want good service, knowledgable electricians and a company that respects your time.

During a home inspection for sale, the inspector noted the gas line was not electrically bonded. Despite this not being a requirement when the home was built, it was listed as a major safety violation. The buyers requested it be repaired. Called Renaissance Electric and they quoted me over the phone $250 if it was a simple job, and warned me that if it could be more depending on the location of the gas line and electrical panel. The electrical showed up on time and was very professional. He reviewed the home inspection report and complete the electrical bonding repair as required. We then talked about building a new home and I asked some advice on the electrical upgrades including whole house surge protector, lighting, and outlets. He was very helpful and candid when discussing where the builder was priced right and where Renaissance Electric could do better or offer higher quality products. Overall, I would call Renaissance Electric again with any electrical needs.

Erik called ahead and was on time. He explained to me what had to be done and proceded to complete them. A potential problem arose because I forgot to include a light for one fan. He recommended where to go to find a light kit which I did after he left. The installation was professional, fast, and clean.

It went very smoothly. The installation and additional fixes were done efficiently and I might add quickly. Erik even made recommendations according to code as to where I should install smoke detectors in our house. I would use them again and would recommend them for electrical service. The electrician arrived on time and was very personable.

They were good and fair priced. They were accomdating and able to fit our schedule. They were also prompt and we are looking to use them again in the future.

Eric is fantastic, and very professional. He was focused on getting the work done. He didn't give me the impression that he was trying to make extra money on me. He just did the job.

Erik was willing to meet me during my lunch break from work and was waiting for me when I pulled into my driveway. The work only took minutes and I was back at work in no time. My coworkers couldn't believe how quickly I was back at work and a couple wanted Erik's information. Thanks Erik!!!

I called Duquesne Light as soon as Erik left and a technician was at my home in less than an hour. The technician determined the issue is their's and told me the line is about 80 years old. The issue has been temporarily fixed and a new line is to be installed this week!! Great work Erik!!!

Erik and his work partner were extremely professional and knew exactly what they were doing. They were extremely punctual (actually even early!) and immediately starting working. Erik is very good about making sure that the customer is happy and goes above and beyond the typical installation job in order to make sure of that. The entire job took about 4 hours and not a single second of that time was wasted by Erik and his partner. I was so impressed by Renaissance Electric that I have already booked another appointment with them to do additional electrical work to my house. I HIGHLY recommend Renanissnace Electric.

I had Erik visit my house 3 times within the last 2 months. Each time he (and his crew when necessary) was professional and punctual. He asked questions and got my input before doing anything, so there were no surprises. I have an older home, so he initially pointed out several important fixes that I might want performed. All of these tasks made absolute sense. I especially liked the fact that there were no "hard sell" tactics. If you need electrical work done, call these guys.

I purchased the Angie's List deal of whole house surge protection from Renaissance Electric for $249. Renaissance Electric called me to set up the appointment and were flexible to meet my schedule. Erik was very communicative. Not much to say other than they were professional, fast, and they did what they said they would do. I would use Renaissance Electric again in the future.

I've used Erik before, so knew to expect a bang up job. He came out a week ago to look at the project and give me an estimate. He was originally scheduled to be here mid-week, but I had a work emergency and had to postpone the project. Erik was very understanding, and was able to reschedule me for Saturday afternoon. He had said he would be at the house as early as possible on Saturday afternoon, and was in the house and working by a little after 1:00. Everything went smoothly, and the work area was cleaned up and they were gone by 3:00. The job was top notch. Can new in wall wiring ever be called elegant? This sort of has that look! Perhs best of all, in the two projects Erik has done for me, he has completed the work for at the prize quoted. I am very pleased with the work that Erik and his crew did, and will certainly be using them on future home renovation projects.

This is an update to my earlier review.* Another customer of Eric's mentioned our review to him. He was distressed that we had any issues at all with the work he did, and immediately offered to do whatever was necessary to make sure we were 100% happy. In all fairness to Eric, he had asked us when he did the job if we were totally satisfied, and we should have been more assertive that we needed additional finishing work. The upshot is that he sent to us, at his expense, a contractor to complete the work, which we're very satisfied with. Thanks, Eric, for caring that we were completely content with the job done. This represents a revision of our review (upgrading to all A's), and I'd reiterate that we would use (and recommend to others) Eric & Renaissance again. *Original comments: We used an Angie's Deal for an electrical inspection in late November, and it was discovered that we had water leaking into the electrical panel from the exterior of the house, apparently for some time. All of the connections were corroded, presenting the potential for an electrical fire. We needed to have the box replaced, and, at the same time, we chose to have a whole house surge suppressor installed, as we are subject to power outages. Eric was very punctual (on both visits), doing the electrical work in a very neat and professional manner. We had decided to have him install a larger box than we currently had, which required some cutting of wood panelling and punching out of wallboard. The resulting installation did leave some gaps in the wallboard and panelling, which we apparently will need to fix, which is the only reason we did not give the work an A overall. We were, however, pleased enough with the work to feel we would use Renaissance again, as the electrical work was done correctly and we feel the price was very fair.

Todays visit was to evaluate what I wanted done. Eric arrived early. We went through the house floor by floor from basement to attic looking at my identified to do list. Along the way Eric looked for safety issues such as there being no GFI outlets in whole house. We then sat down and came up with a plan of attack and scheduled a follow up visit. I decided, with his help to tackle the problems one floor at a time. We agreed on a plan for him to come back in 3 weeks on another Saturday. I am very appreciative to get the Sat time. Another company that I purchased a BIG Deal from has no Saturdays which I didn't notice before purchasing.

excellent service. forthcoming. desire to please. upfront re: charges. accomdating only point of disconnect was maybe a month after the lights were installed i texted him because one of the lights ceased to function (this was my problem in the first place. This same light was always burning out).... and he had no idea who i was! it turned out...at least so far..that all I needed was a new bulb...his assistant had handled the bulb with his bare hands which he said was a no-no. other than that everything good. this was my first experience with Angies List so it was a good beginning and i am now subscribing on a monthly basis.

Outstanding! Eric and Mick showed up on time were the consummate professionals and extremely efficient. They completed the work in less than an hour in a half and were friendly and willing to engage in conversation that would be helpful and beneficial to improving the safety and convenience of my home. I will be using them again and will absolutely recommend them to anyone that needs electoral work done.

The tech arrived on time and completed all the of necessary work in less than 1 1/2 hours at the exact price quoted. He was very friendly and professional and answered all the questions that I had for him. He also provided me a quote for some other work I need performed and I will be sure to use them again.

It went very well. He gave my husband several options, and he also called me on my cell phone as I had asked to go over the solutions available. He also discovered that our electrical panel was not grounded properly.

After reviewing Angie's list for electrical residential service and repair, I settled on Renaissance Electric. The combination of favorable reports, visibility of examples of the work that they provide, and pricing for their service and their licensing/certification for their trade made Renaissance my first choice. Eric from Renaissance just left my home, and I am so glad I made that choice. Our problem -- we had a short that made our porch, entryway and second floor bedroom lights inoperable. I also was concerned, due to the age of the house and it's stunning turn-of-another-centrury's wiring, that we may be experiencing more problems. I called Renaissance and in an hour I received a call back. Here is the kicker: I called on SATURDAY and got a call back on SATURDAY within an hour. Further, Eric is busy, so he asked if the following SUNDAY was good for me. You betcha! Weekend hours without an upcharge? During his visit, he asked for my information on our lighting problems and explained what he felt was the problem (bad switch). He tested and repaired the switch, all repairs complete. One thing-- since in a moment of brilliance I had replaced the porch bulb with a CFC, he first asked if I had an incandescent blub and to try that. If the porch light came on, he said there would be no charge for the visit. He explained that the type of CFC (or maybe all CFCs - can't remember) that I put on the porch is not meant for outdoors. I replaced the CFC with the incandescent bulb, but it did not work-- thus the switch repair. It was nice of him to offer to not charge if it was a bulb issue. After the repair we looked at the house's electrical system. Eric noticed issues with the way our house was grounded. He also noticed incomplete work on the grounding of our water meter. I mentioned some concerns about our electrical use on our second floor and then Eric and I sat down and reviewed some possible options. The discussion was a no pressure affair-- a "Let's talk about a few ideas, you decide what you would like to do if anything" sort of approach which made me feel at ease. I am going to get on his schedule to take care of some grounding stuff and surge protection. I have a few items that I will be using that will pull a lot of power and want to make sure everything is a-ok. If you are looking for an affordable, respectful, electrical professional to be a valuable member to those that provide your home with service, you could do no better than Eric and Renaissance Electric. Timely call back, professional repair, affordable pricing, plain english communication about technical stuff and a 'no pressure' attitude are all factors that make Eric and Renaissance my first choice for home electrical repair.

Erik removed the defective light fixture and installed the new one in less than one half hour. There were no problems with the installation and the new fixture worked great! I chose Renaissance Electric (Erik Lowrey) based upon the excellent reviews that I read on Angie's List and his informative company website ( www.lightuppittsburgh.com). I found Erik to be intelligent, friendly, articulate, knowledgeable in his profession, and a skilled electrician. His job performance and pricing reflect his honesty as a businessman. I would not think twice about hiring him again!

Great job. He was on time and did the job in a timely manner. Everything was clean when he left. This is the second time I used this company for my electrical work. I recommend this company to anyone who needs electrical work.
