It did not turn out so well. He came out and said he had to check the grounding. I had trouble getting him in. It sounds like he did not want to do the work for the original price which is why I did not follow up. It sounded like I was going to have to pay more from what he told me.

Water was leaking into our master electrical box. Responded very quickly to our call and set up an appt. promptly. Repaired and grounded our box.

Erik did a fantastic job taking care of all the electrical needs at my house - even the ones I didn't know about! He had previously installed a baseboard heating system in the basement and discovered that the electrical system for the house was not grounded, which could have led to serious problems. I've had various electrical work done over the past several years and no electrician had ever caught this problem before. He made arrangements to come back out, install a new breaker box, new porch light and ground the system properly. He also called ahead to let me know when to expect, did all the work promptly and cleaned up everything afterwards. I highly recommend his services!

I didn't have an electrician and knew I needed to have some some major work done in my home. So I turned to Angie's List and found Renaissance Electric owned by Erik Lowry. Erik has been working with me over the past couple of months. He replaced the 60 amp line coming into my from the late 1950's which was really fraying, with a 150 amp and new box with surge protector. We discussed at that point having him come back to replace plugs and switches. Shortly after that a painter blew one of my GFI's and I called Erik who came the following day and put a new one in. I was grateful he didn't charge for an emergency call. Today he and Jim finished up with the plugs, switches, dimmers and Range Hood. Erik Lowry is professional, personable, and knows his work. I felt his price was very fair and he warranties all his work. I couldn't ask for a better experience. If you need an electrician, I wouldn't hesitate to call Renaissance Electric.

I am very satisfied with their professional work. Before starting the work, Eric explained what needs to be done thoroughly including the cost estimate. I was worried about the cost in the beginning because electric wiring in my house is ancient and there are plenty of old receptacle outlets in my house (which was built 100 years ago). But the cost was very reasonable considering the amount of time (a couple of hours) they needed to take to complete the job. They cleaned out all dust after the work. I do think they are real professional. I definitely recommend Eric and Renaissance Electric for both minor and major electrical work. A++++!

I am very happy with this electrician and will definitely be having them back for more work. Initially I came across the electrical breaker box refit and whole house surge protector coupon via Angie's List and took up the offer. After the initial work visit and some discussion, I decided to upgrade the breaker box to allow for more connections, then re-scheduled. The new box was installed along with the surge protection to my satisfaction. I then had a follow up visist scheduled to put in a plug for my new dual fuel oven unit- and though there was a bit of miscommunication on the day of the install, the job got done quickly and proficiently to my satisfaction once again.I really like having the business owner showing up for the job and I am impressed with his work ethic and commitment to his customers as well as his knowledge base. I have no reservations about recommending Renaissance to my friends and neighbors.

Erik the owner, personally helped me over the phone trying to help us save some money. When that didn't work, he came the next day and discovered the problem fairly quickly. When he realized he'd be late, he called to let me know and gave the option of coming late or another day. Came next day after that with parts and fixed everything quickly, efficiently and helped me feel secure that our electrical system was now safer. He was laid back and friendly, as well as knowledgeable and professional. I would definitely use his company again, and will recommend it to others. UPDATED JULY 26, 2012: Had trouble with breakers tripping, particularly when it rained. Erik came, diagnosed the problem on one day, repaired completely the next day. Also explained everything to me about what happened and that everything should be safe. I thought at first that the price was a bit high, but realized after some research that they were competitive. So I changed my rating from a B to an A.

i thought i needed a new breaker box based on an inspection of work that was not done by Renaissance. Eric probably spent more time on the phone with the inspector than he did on the job itself -- and he saved me about 700 dollars in the process. I didnot need what I was told I needed, which by the way I would never have known if Eric had not investigated for me. Thorough, customer focused, great communication, and obviously willing to go a lot more than the extra mile.

I made the decision to use Renaissance after a phone call regarding a simple estimate turned into a very lengthy and informative conversation, in which many of my initial questions were answered. The company was very good at putting everything into simple terms that I could understand. (having absolutely no knowledge of electrical work).A few days later, an official estimate was provided and I accepted. The day of the actual job, everything went great. The installation of the electrical box went as planned, and there was even enough time left over for a quick installation of a light fixture I had been meaning to get installed.Overall, the project went exactly as I'd hoped it would. Good service, and very informative.

They did a good job. The owner of the company comes out and does the estimates. He was really nice and good. They had very good reviews on Angie’s list and were also much cheaper than other places that I called. So they were inexpensive. It was not an instant job and I got what I pay for. The price was very good. The boxes that they put in were very good and I am incredibly picky and I thought they were not right level enough in some of the rooms as it was below the dry wall. It is little difficult to do it and he did as good as he possibly could have done. He is very responsive.

It went very well. He was able to explain the electrical issues clearly in basic English. He looked into my electric panel, traced wires to show that there were no grounding wires and explained how expensive that process would be. Then we discussed the whole house surge protector and how that would accomplish what I wanted. We got the protection that we wanted at an incredibly reasonable price and a free outside light installation and a wasp's nest destroyed! No mess, no hassle and all work was performed on time quickly. I definitely highly recommend Rennaisance Electric!

Erik responded promptly to my request for service. We discussed the jobs, the cost, and set up a date for the work to be done. He called a day ahead of time to finalize plans and was on time the next day. He didn't seem to mind that I had added an extra job to the list. (The kitchen light was not included in the original plan) He had the equipment handy that he needed and completed the jobs in a timely manner. I was very pleased with his work and would use him again.

Great service! We had an emergency where water was leaking from the electrical panel. Another electrician we had called the day before said he doesn't work on weekends and told us not to worry about it. He told us he will come either Monday or Tuesday to look at it. Common sense was telling us water and electricity doesn't mix, so we called Erik on Sunday, his only day off. HE was very prompt in responding and came out to the house within an hour. Erik fixed the leak quickly and on top of that he was very thorough in explaining some other issues/problems we had that we did not notice and another electrician had missed during our building inspection. Also the pricing was fair.

Erik was very prompt and completed the work quickly including installing our exhaust fan.

Eric arrived on time, made sure we'd turned off what we needed before he cut the main power, and got started right away. It just took two hours, and that was with a few bumps in the road along the way - our electrical system's bumps, not his. He showed me what was a problem with our old panel, made sure the area was cleaned up, and was on his way!

A+ overall. Returned call promptly, professional, reasonably priced. Was in and out of house in approximately 30 minutes with all work performed to our satisfaction. Would definitely use again for any size project.

Initially contacted Erik with two electrical problems - one with the kitchen light above the sink and the other one was a non-functioning light in the main bathroom with the fan still operable on the combined unit. Explained what steps had already been taken with both problems by a relative. Erik advised a possible solution for the kitchen and he felt the fan probably would need replaced in the bathroom. He also advised that it was likely that my relative may be able to replace the bathroom fan and thus save me a repair charge. I decided to postpone scheduling to try his suggestion and talk with my relataive. Erik's solution worked for the kitchen light but my relative was concerned that perhaps the bathroom problem may be a wiring one and recommended that Erik check it out. Erik arrived for the scheduled repair early and proceeded to swiftly assess that the problem was the wiring in the unit itself and not in the ceiling. I had already purchased a replacement unit since I was concerned that they may not have a compatible unit on the truck. Erik immediately installed the replacement unit and checked to see if my other problem had been resolved. I told him his suggestion worked like a dream. Erik was extremely professional and more than willing to answer all my questions. i certainly will use him again.

Erik called on the morning of the scheduled date to confirm the appointment, and he and his assistant Steve arrived shortly after and they completed the job much quicker than expected. Erik and Steve were both very professional and personable. The quality of work was great, and I plan on using them again when I replace the lighting in the basement. I would highly recommend them for anyone needing electrical services.

They responded fast to my call and made an appointment to see the job. Scheduled to do the work a week later in time for when I was getting another job started. Started the job early and did fine work. Only negative was left a couple loose screws on garage floor that could have been a problem if I didn't see them first.
