We had very old storm window screens that had worn out and also a wooden screen frame. They replaced the screens and thy were sturdy and looked very nice. No more mosquitos coming in the house! They were very friendly and professional. It took about a week to replace 4 screens. We weren't in a hurry. We may take the slinding glass door screen in and have it replaced. It will be about half the price of purchasing a new one.

Rep on visit closely inspected window structure in 80+ y.o. building. Provided specific bids for products from two manufacturers. Bid included specific wait time until available for installation. Installation was completed by crew in one day. Care directions were very clearly and effectively communicated. Both business and trade employees were impressively competent and courteous.

The work was done on scheduled date and time. The crew was very professional and did a great job. What a difference this past winter keeping the cold out. Did a great job cleaning up. I have used them before they installed a custom front storm door. House is a tudor and door is arched. No one else even offered to do. They did special measurements and it is perfect. We get complements on it all the time. Great group to work with. Explained everything there were no surprises. A big pricey but you get what you pay for and it is all first class.

They showed up on time and made quick work of the windows and door. Everybody was nice and seemed happy to help. The installation of the new storm door was painless and cleaned up easily.

Price was a little higher than others, but their estimate explained more details about the work to be done. Actual installation went perfectly. They arrived on the day/time given, were courteous and careful about our carpets, etc. Removal of the old door went quickly, with minimal time where the entryway was completely open (this was January, after all). The new door looked exactly as expected. The doors were fitted and leveled as expected, and the final result looked like a finished product inside and outside. This was how all contractor work should go!

They were great. I have used them before. I have used them several times. They are a nice local family firm. It is family owned. They do not come in and pressure you like other window companies that I took estimates from. They will come in, ask you what you want, what your time frame, and what you like and do not like. There are just real nice people. It is not a high pressure sales people like I had some from a couple of places. I intend to use them again in the future. I have more windows to do. I do a couple at a time.

Scheduled install quickly, arrived on time, exceeded my expectations on install workmanship, quality of door was stout, much better than I expected. This door may outlast the home.

This was our second great experience contracting with Pittsburgh Window & Door. Back around 2010, they replaced the aluminum awnings at our former residence. The new ones looked amazing. When I expressed concerns about how the front porch awning was finished in one of the interior corners, one of the skillful owners came right out and worked his magic with some custom metalwork. Within a year, we put our home on the market as planned. With these gleaming new awnings highly visible from the street, we received two full-price offers within 48 hours! Needless to say, the curb appeal of this home was dramatically improved as result of this project. Fast forward to spring 2013 when we decided to replace the windows in our current home. After sitting through two other sales pitches, I suddenly remembered Pittsburgh Window & Door Co. from our old neighborhood. In hopes that the company served the East Allegheny County region, I gave them a call and the rest is history. We chose to purchase the Simonton Reflections 5500 series. We customized the order by selecting the color "driftwood" for both the interior and exterior surfaces. In addition, we selected the double perimeter style grid pattern for a sleek look both indoors and outside. I am beyond thrilled with how these windows look and operate. The installation took the better part of two days which was expected and reasonable for a two-man team assigned to the job.

They arrived earlier than the appointed time which was fine with me! They replaced my living room window and had it totally installed in around one hour. I love the window and I love how quickly they did their jobs. The one little thing I was surprised by was that the owner had come out to my house to give me an estimate and he interacted with my three dogs. When the two workers showed up to install the window, I mentioned about the dogs and the one worker said he was afraid of dogs. Wouldn't hurt to make sure to send a dog lover to a house with dogs - especially three of them. I have aleady recommended PW&D to one of my neighbors. They're great.

I thought the windows would have to be replaced, but they repaired them for a very reasonable fee. They also put in a sliding glass door in the back for us that both looks and works better than the original French door. They were great to work with. We are using them again for another repair job, and recommend them to anyone.

They were very good. I had to bring the screens to them, which was the only negative. The price was acceptible.

If only everything went so smoothly! From the beginning, this was an enjoyable experience. We stopped by their showroom and selected our windows. No pressure whatsoever. When their salesman, Mike Hetzler, came over to measure our windows, again, no pressure. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and answered all of our questions. The company came so highly recommended that we did not get other bids; however, by referring to Angie's List, our decision was reinforced. A business does not last three generations if they do not provide good customer service. We signed and mailed the contract back. (Note: we mailed it back; no salesman hounding us to sign on the spot). We were given a timeframe for installation, but were pleasantly surprised when we got a call a few weeks earlier than expected. The installation crew came on time, fully prepared. They were all very nice and worked diligently throughout the day. I had no cleanup whatsoever when they were finished. They covered everything before they started working, and cleaned up everything when they were done. I had a question about something the next day. Mike made sure he returned my call promptly and answered my question. The windows look great and have added a bright new touch to our home. I would recommend this company hands down and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Great work, lousy service and terrible follow-up. Called them to return to fix a few things and they never called back. Their guarantee isn't worth anything. Lots of lip service. The installer was courteous and a craftsman, and he did a really good job, but the company left us high and dry.

Mike the salesman was great. He was on time and spent a lot of time looking at the current setup and going over options. He also spent time in the showroom with my wife going over different flashing and storm door color options for the door we picked. It took about 6-8 weeks to get the door we wanted in because it was special order. Once the material were in, it was about a week from scheduling to install. They installed everything in less than a day and good quality install work.

The appointment to review the job was scheduled quickly and the owner measured the windows and provided a reasonable, not the cheapest, price. I was impressed by their professionalism and experience in the industry and immediately scheduled the installation. The windows have been installed for more than a decade and I have had no problems with any of them. I am happy to provide the details of my experience to people considering quality replacement windows.

This is a family-owned and -operated business that provides the kind of old-fashioned service that's so hard to find nowadays. Prompt, professional, pleasant. They know what they're doing, and they're nice.

ke When I first called, they promptly set up an in house estimate in a few days from the call. Jim, the former owner (he has since passed the business down to his son), came over and gave me a professional estimate. He walked me through all the different options and their costs. He was great to talk to and from speaking with him, I knew the kind of company he ran. I was correct. He even offered to try and fix my window for free right then and there because it was a simple job, but he didnt have the tool on hand. He was great considering some other companies werent even willing to even come out and look at the job and quoted me over $100. A couple weeks later when the door came in, two guys came and installed it. They were right on time and very professional. They set up their tools including a giant table, mitor saw and trash cans in my garage. It took them a few hours to complete the job in which they came upstairs for restroom trips and to work on the window. They took off their shoes without an issue to protect my recently polyurethaned hardwoods. After the job was complete, they swept up the area and left it better than they found it! Overall it was a pleasure to work with this family business. Its really nice to see these types of companies that really take care of you still in the world. Oh and they dont take any payment until the job is complete and you can see the finished product, which is a very cool thing to do. Top notch company that does quality work with friendly people. I'll definitely be ordering more from them in the near future.

I called, actually got someone, who quickly scheduled an appointment for the next day. Jim showed up on time, assessed the window, wrote out his quote which included a timeline of two weeks and they would call to schedule install. He was so efficient and the quote was reasonable that we went ahead. The office called in two weeks to make the appointment. They called again as a reminder of the appointment. Dave showed up on time and replaced the window. They said it would take a half an hour in the quote and that's about what it took. Dave even gave me a few tips that I should do come Spring to make our windows operate more smoothly. And without asking, replaced a crank shaft that had lost it's knob. I would definitely use them again without hesitation. And when the day comes that we need to replace windows, I'd start with them. Very satisfied!

They were wonderful and couldn't have been better. They were professional in every way. They were punctual and courteous and anything you would put on your wish list for how a company and it's people should behave - that's how they were. Every time we go in or out of the door we can hear the way it feels. Some places said, because the home had shifted, that they could not do it. But they came out and really did the job. They called to say when they were coming just to make sure everyone was on the same page. They came when they said they would. We would recommend them. We felt the price was good for the quality we got.
