Ed was extremely informative and helpful in my decision to install invisible fencing. He was prompt with returning my calls and emails (which were many). Maurice came out in the morning to install the wiring and system. He was extremely nice and efficient. Ed came out later in the afternoon and thoroughly explained his system and trained our German Short Haired Pointer for at least an hour. He then showed us what we needed to do daily to continue the training. I wouldn't hesitate to use this service again and I would highly recommend anyone who is searching for an invisible fence co to call Ed. You won't be disappointed.

All communication was prompt and responsive. Installation was done within 2 weeks of initial contact. This was because we were on vacation and had to request a later install date. Pittsburgh Fence came to the house after giving us a rough quote via the phone and using google maps. Ed confirmed the quote, explained how the system worked, that their collars are waterproof, self contained and rechargeable. Ed also explained how the system worked, mapped the yard and gave us options on how to run the fence. Very professional and knowledgeable, we took his suggestion on leaving the upper part of our driveway blocked from the dogs. This was to prevent them from running up to a car pulling into the driveway. Installation was fast and professional, Maurice was the installer and very pleasant. He confirmed our mapping and completed the installation. Ed then came to the house that evening to show us how the system works, to fit the collars and then train the dogs. Ed was very good with our dogs and training was fantastic. We highly recommend Pittsburgh Fence and their system!!!

Excellent service, very thorough with instructions and training. Very responsive when there are issues with the fence (like digging through the line - oops!). He installed the original fence, then upgraded us to a newer model.

Ed came out on a Saturday afternoon to remark our yard with new flags so that he could begin training with our second dog. He spent about 1 1/2 hours marking out the boundaries and giving our dog her first training on the underground fence. Ed is professional, honest and makes sure both humans and animals are taken care of. Great rapport with our two dogs. I recommend Pittsburgh Pet Fence to every dog owner I know.

We had a good experience with the installation and training our dog. Ed, the owner is very personable and an honest guy.

I contacted Ed about a week before installation, he returned my call the same day and explained how his system works and what is included in the price. After talking with Ed for a few minutes I decided that I wanted to move forward with the project and he was able to schedule me for the next week. On the day of installation the installer (forgive me, but I can't remember his name!) was on time, walked me thru my yard and asked how I wanted the fence installed. We decided to go with 2 zones, the front yard 'zone' and the back yard 'zone'. We generally always keep our dogs in the back yard and we have a high retaining wall in the driveway that we like to keep them away from. The installer was very professional and got to work right away and finished a few hours later. After the installation was complete Ed came for the training session. Ed is a great guy to talk to and took the time to thoroughly explain how the system works , what all of the different indicator lights on the unit mean and how the training session with our dog would go. You can tell that Ed really cares for the well being of your dog! We then went and brought our dog, Mya, into the back yard for training. Ed let her get zapped right away and showed me the proper technique to train Mya. Mya was a very quick learner and soon knew to avoid the flags. My wife and I worked with Mya several times over the next week to reinforce the training. We have had the fence for over a month and a half and Mya has only been zapped 5 times... 3 of which were on the first day. She has not been zapped in over 3 weeks. There are always deer in our yard and Mya will chase them, but she knows to put the brakes on at the flags! We are at the point where we are going to start removing the flags from the yard. Bottom line is, Ed and his team are great to work with, very professional and personable. They take their time to explain things and work with you and your dog. We couldn't be happier with the results and feel confident that our dog is safe in our yard. And we always prefer to support a local company over a big chain national company!

WOW! Ed was amazing and his crew is great! he called me and answered lots of questions, scheduled promptly and the guys were right on time. They were great about working around the landscaping and you can't even see where the fence was installed! Ed came and went over the mechanics of it all, worked with each of our two dogs to help them understand what it was about and left us with instructions and feeling hopeful. Our two shih tzu dogs immediately learned to respect the boundaries and understand the word CAREFUL! Just what we needed to keep our furry friends safely in the yard!

Ed and Moss did a great (and quick) job installing the fence. Our property is a challenging one (hills, an odd-shaped driveway, exposed roots, etc.) but Ed's team did incredible work for us. I cannot recommend Ed enough. He is passionate about his job and it is always an added benefit to support a local small business. As for the system, Ed's system could not have worked better/quicker with our 1 year old dog. He learned the system in three days and we have complete confidence with him free in the yard, even with deer everywhere and neighbor dogs in reach. Go with Ed if you are faced with options for a pet fence. He is awesome to work with.

Ed came as scheduled and provided great service between early morning and late day storm systems when some may have rescheduled. He was attentive to where we wanted and needed the system for our property and dogs. We have 2 golden doodles. Bella is 35lbs and skittish ( runs from noise). Keeper is 25lbs and inquisitive ( runs to noise). Both dogs after Ed's great initial training of us and the dogs are doing great one week later. We could tell Ed did not want to leave until he was sure we were comfortable and the dogs understood the boundary system. He also made sure we as the owners understood the importantance of the follow on training necessary for the safety and well being of our pets. Lastly, Ed went over how the system hardware actually works and its maintenance. By the time Ed left we we were ready to take over. One week later our dogs are doing very well as we do Ed's follow up training instructions. We were nervous about getting the system, but now are very satisfied with how things are progressing.

Ed and his assistant were great! They showed up on time and only took about 4 hours to complete the job. They were both very professional and cleaned up after themselves. Ed explained everything they were doing very well and even fixed a small problem we had in the basement with a hanging outlet. Ed walked through the system and the training process with us first and made sure we understood everything and then he ran through everything with our dog before handing over the reigns to us to do a few times while he was still there. We would definitely recommend him, his company, and his product to anyone who asks.

Ed and his coworker showed up at 9:00 am and began working. All went well. Finished the fence installation at 2:00 pm. All was cleaned up. I barely could tell that anything had been done except for the white flags that showed the fence perimeter for training Buddy. After installing the fence, Ed walked me through training Buddy. All went well and the installation was a very positive experience. Excellent service, great price.

I couldn't have been more pleased with Ed Fogarty and Pittsburgh Pet Fence. From our initial phone conversation in which he explained his service, how it works, and all of its benefits, to scheduling our installation, performing the installation, and teaching us and our dogs to properly use the system, Ed was professional, personable, and courteous. Our installation involved more vegetation clearing, materials, and physical labor than expected, and he honored his initial price estimate rather than charging more for the extra work. He explained and demonstrated in detail how to use the system, the rechargeable collars, and flag indicators that are used for training. He personally took each of my dogs through their first training session and explained each step involved in the training, and he provided instruction on how we should proceed on our own for the next 2 weeks to continue the training. Our dogs received one correction each and immediately learned to react to the warning tone emitted by the collar that precedes the correction, so I seriously doubt the dogs will ever need to experience another correction (shock). The in-ground fence is truly a life saver for us, as we cannot afford a physical fence, and even if we could afford one, we are only permitted to have a fence with a maximum height of 3 feet in our front yard, which clearly would not sufficiently contain our dogs. Our next door neighbors lost a dog when it was hit by a car, and we now feel confident that we will never have to go through such a tragic event. To top it off, I have every confidence that, should we need further assistance and/or service in the future (broken wires, additional dogs, questions, etc.), Pittsburgh Pet Fence will continue to provide excellent service and keep our dogs safely contained.

Ed was very professional and responsive during the initial call through the installation. The installation was done extremely well. Ed also spent time to train us on how to train the dogs. One of the dogs is a runner and would bolt if a door was open and run away. After the first day this dog no longer bolts. It took about 4 hours for the installation and training for about a one acre area.

I called Pittsburgh Pet Fence after Invisible Fence did not fix the problem of a broken wire. Invisible fence charged me for services that were not complete and then did not return my phone calls. Even though I was not a customer of Pittsburgh Pet Fence; Ed came to my home and found the issue with the wire Invisible Fence had installed and fixed it immediately. Ed is professional and punctual and easy to communicate with; he returns phone calls and emails! Pittsburgh Pet Fence is an independent small business and is customer service oriented, I would recommend this business to any one who is interested in keeping their pets safe and would like a business that is happy to have you as a customer.

It went great! I looked at every competitor and let me save you some time. This is the company to go with. Ed truly cares and his product is the best out there as evidence by the number of houses in my neighborhood that have his system. He will answer any and all of your questions, describe advantages and disadvantages of all of the systems in the market and be there follow up. The installation itself went very well and my dog took about 14 days to become fully trained. It is great to see him enjoying the outdoor area and not having to worry about his safety. The most impressive thing was the fact that Ed really cared about our pet and the fact that he would be safe after training. I always like supporting the local guy and in this case it was a no brainer.

Ed and his assistant, Morris, arrived bright and early and walked out the boundary with me. They spent the entire morning installing the underground fence while I went to the office. Ed called me to let me know it was time to start training and I arrived just as he and Morris were winding up the installation. Ed spent time explaining the installation and operation of the system itself. Next, he began an in-depth explanation of the training required to properly train your pet. Our 2 year old English Springer Spaniel, Daniel, gave himself up completely to Ed's training and caught on immediately to the 3-stage containment system that Ed and Morris installed. I am confident that by following the training syllabus that Ed provided, we will be able to enjoy Daniel off-leash in our yard for years to come. I've already recommended Ed and Pittsburgh Pet Fence to two neighbors who have expressed an interest in installing a similar system in their yards. Ed is knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Pittsburgh Pet Fence.

He did a great job. He was professional. I used another fence company previously and my dogs got out but they didn’t care. So I had to hire this company to fix it. He said he would make it right even though it was not him who made the problem and loved that. He put another receiver downstairs that helped the problem. What is nice about him is that he calls every six months to check up on the work, he would ask me if I need anything and if I need any adjustments. That is wonderful.

Ed was fantastic! I am so happy with the fence that we had installed last fall. He returned my calls quickly and answered any questions I had about training my puppy! My wife, Julie, and I live in Bethel Park along a very heavily traveled road. Our chocolate lab, Jax, was hit by a speeding car when he was just two months old. Fortunately, he survived - with very minimal injuries. But, the incident served as a wake-up call. We needed to provide our puppy with protection from the speeding motorists. Being a young family - we just could not afford to spend $7,000 on a tangible fence for our yard. Even if we could - it would deteriorate over time. But, that's where Pittsburgh Pet Fence came in and saved the day. We were very skeptical about "invisible" fences and whatnot. But, Ed (the company owner) took the time to answer all of our questions and build a rapport with us. Also, he provided us with a very affordable solution to our problem. Installation for about half an acre of land took only a few hours and was very clean. He even buried the wire under the driveway and left it looking great. Also, with his patience, we had Jax trained in no time. And Jax is no ordinary dog - he is as strong as an ox and playful as can be. But, Jax quickly learned the system and was able to differentiate where he could and could not roam on the property.
