Very well. He was in and out in under 15 minutes. Very professional. Verified that the heater remained lit three times and that it could reignite on demand.

He inspected the furnace but found out that heat exchanger need to be replaced. The price he gave (labor only) was the highest ($980) compared to others, he tried to sell me a new heater, and DIDN'T clean the furnace as we agreed, and refused over the phone to come again and clean the furnace.

The work done was good, but I was pressured repeatedly to pay for a maintenance contract as well. It was implied that if I didn't pay the $190 for the contract, that everything else would be more expensive. I don't anticipate having any more than one service call a year for cleaning and did not want a service contract.

MR. JIM PHILLIPS OF PHILLIPS HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CAME TO MY HOUSE. WE DISCUSSED THE SERVICES NEEDED; INSTALL A NEW FURNACE TO HEAT SECOND AND THIRD FLOOR. REPLACE AN EXISTING OLD FURNACE, AND ADD AN ADDITIONAL BASE BOARD HEATER IN THE LIVING ROOM. INSTALL A NEW HOT WATER HEATER TO SERVICE SECOND AND THIRD FLOOR. SEPARATE GAS AND WATER LINES FOR FIRST AND SECOND FLOOR. NO ONE FROM THE COMPANY HAS EVER CALLED OR SENT A LETTER TO SAY THE JOB WAS MORE THAN THEY COULD HANDLE, OR THAT DID NOT WANT THE JOB.

Technician was delayed due to previous appointments taking longer than expected. Company representative called and apologized and verified that it was still okay to come out. Technician came after hours but did not charge for an after hours call. He was professional, polite and very knowledgeable. I was extremely impressed with his honesty. Problem was diagnosed quickly, fixed promptly and price was terrific! What more could you ask for? This will now be my company of choice for all my heating & air conditioning needs. Highly recommended! (Loved the on site coupon!)

They serviced my boiler the previous year and that technician praised its condition. This past winter, a different technician informed me that it was a safety hazard and that he can't even touch it due to liability reasons. I received a strong sales pitch. I contacted another company and that representative praised the condition of the boiler for its age. I feel this technician was pressured too much to sell boilers instead of servicing them.

Their response was prompt. Their repair work was extremely thorough. Their installation was expeditious. The prices were reasonable. The workers were pleasant, professional, neat, and ostensibly very competent. We were delighted with their service.

While the cleaning and diagnostic were performed adequately, as far as I could tell, the technician discovered a problem with the heat exchanger and quoted me an exorbitantly high price to fix it. In addition, he tried to sign me up for a service plan that was also overpriced, claiming that it would result in a savings on the heat exchanger bill. I got a second quote from another company that was half the cost and had the work done by them.

The rep. came on time and made a very thorough assessment of what the job would take.

Overall, I have been really happy about the service workers and the work performed under my contracts. The office staff always reminded me that inspections needed to be done, easing my mind. The workers are terrific. Each has been polite, friendly, prompt, and has explained any work thoroughly.

While we were initially satisfied with their work (they cleaned our furnace), we were extremely dissatisfied with the follow-up service. The man who cleaned the furnace told us that we needed a chimney liner. He was supposed to set up an appointment for us but never did. We called at least half a dozen times to set up an appointment but could only get through to the answering service. No one ever called us back. After 2 months of no response, we decided to go with a different company.

Tom was very courteous and fixed the problem in no time. The dispatcher, Kevin, called back within 5 minutes to respond to the emergency call. We paid $60 extra for after hours service.

My house was 45 degrees and I was out of town on business. It was a Sunday and I was getting on a plane in four hours so would not be reachable. I called Phillips and was able to reach a human being first try. They had the repair technician call me back in 10 minutes, then he was at my house within the hour and reported back to me with a diagnosis and estimated cost of repair before I boarded the plane. And all of this on a day when the Steelers were playing on TV! By the time I got home the house was warm again and the actual cost came in below the estimate. They gave me the Angie's list discount and the service contract discount even though I did not yet have a service contract with them, you bet I do now! Everyone I spoke with was courteous and knowledgeable. These guys are fabulous.

Our overall experience was very good. We dealt with both Dave and Wes. Wes came out to the house several times to complete the work and was professional and effective. We were given a bid for the work and the company stuck to it. Both Wes and Dave were friendly and even took the time to briefly explain the workings of our steam boiler system. They clearly laid out our various options. The only difficulty was that our phone calls were generally not returned. We had to call back several times to arrange each visit.

Spoke with Dave, Kevin, and Jack at various times to schedule the job. The process of scheduling wasn't exactly smooth and required me to call back a few times. Once the job was scheduled, all went well. Technicians (Donny and Paul) were punctual and polite. They were fairly quick and did a decent cleanup after the job was done. Jack came in to deliver a part and was nice enough to introduce himself and chat for a few minutes. Everything seems to be working very well.

Very good but a scheduling problem that was resolved. I pre scheduled and paid half cost up front but the day of the service date at 9am no one showed. They forgot to schedule me. I told them that this was a problem since I took a vacation day for this. They sent a service man who came at around 2pm and did a good job.

We had recently signed a service contract with Phillips when, on Thanksgiving Day, our furnace began making loud noises. The company answered their phone, and an owner, Jim Phillips, called us back within 5 minutes (twice). A polite and knowledgeable technician arrived at our house at 10:30 PM Thanksgiving night (temp in the teens) after our furnace died. Eric managed to revive the furnace by transplanting a blower motor he had in his truck, and he discussed our options with us. There was no sales pressure, but we decided to replace the old furnace. Phillips returned the next week and installed our new furnace, mostly within one day. All the Phillips employee's we've encountered have been polite and professional. A supervisor was here both days to make sure that the job was being done well. Jim Phillips stopped by when the installers ran into a problem. Our experience with Phillips Heating & AC was terrific! The integrity and professionalism of this company has been outstanding.

Mike was extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and easy to work with. He took extra time to explain options with us. We decided to purchase a one year service agreement based on our experience with Mike.

I CHOSE PHILLIPS BASED ON ANGIE'S LIST COMMENTS. VERY SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK.

DUCT CLEANING WAS PRESUMABLY DONE. UNSURE IF ALL VENTS CLEANED/DONE. FURNACE DOORS & FILTER LEFT OFF & OUT. REUSABLE FILTERS NOT CLEANED. UNAWARE OF WHAT WAS OR WASN'T COMPLETED BY TECH. AFTER 2 CALLS, ANOTHER TECH CAME OUT, TUNED UP FURNACE, & SUGGESTED NEW ONE.

WE DID NOT COMPARE PRICES WITH OTHER COMPANIES, BUT WE WERE VERY SATISFIED WITH THE WORK PERFORMED. EVERYONE SEEMED VERY SKILLED AND PROFESSIONAL, AND IT TOOK A LOT OF HARD WORK TO GET THE OLD FURNACE OUT. THE INITIAL ESTIMATE WAS VERY CAREFULLY PERFORMED WITH A LONG INSPECTION OF THE HOUSE ITSELF TO MAKE SURE WE GOT WHAT WE NEEDED. THE SCHEDULING OF THE REPLACEMENT WAS ALSO VERY FAST AND WE HAD OUR NEW FURNACE WITHIN DAYS. THE CREW CLEANED UP VERY WELL AFTER THEMSELVES AND THE INSTALLATION LOOKS VERY NICE.

THIS IS A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH. THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY, EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THEY ARE DOING. THEY SHOW YOU THE PROBLEM SO YOU ARE CONFIDENT THAT THEY ARE NOT CREATING MORE WORK. WHEN I DECIDED TO HAVE THEM INSTALL THE NEW FURNACE, THEY GAVE ME AN EXCELLENT PRICE, AND THE FURNACE WAS INSTALL WITHIN 4 DAYS. PHILIPS HAS A WONDERFUL TEAM OF WORKERS. THEY ARE VERY POLITE, FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THEY LEFT THE WORK AREA IN GREAT CONDITION. THEY ALSO TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE SURE I UNDERSTOOD THE OPERATIONS OF THE NEW FURNACE. I WILL CONTINUE TO HIRE THEM TO DO THE MAINTENANCE ON THE FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONER.

MIKE CAME OVER TO CHECK AND CLEAN OUR BOILER. HE WAS COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL. WE JUST PURCHASED OUR HOME, PREVIOUSLY WE HAD A GAS FORCED AIR FURNACE. I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH HOW THE GAS BOILER AND RADIATORS WORKED (HOW TO BLEED AIR OUT OF THE SYSTEM, THE MECHANICS OF OPERATION, ETC.). MIKE WAS PATIENT AND SHOWED ME HOW IT ALL WORKED, WHILE DOING AN EXCELLENT JOB OF CHECKING AND CLEANING OUR SYSTEM. OVERALL A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE.

THE OWNER'S SON CAME OUT AND SPENT A WHOLE LOT OF TIME WITH US. WE WENT WITH THE 92% EFFICIENT SYSTEM. HE ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION WE HAD, WHEN WE HAD OTHER QUESTIONS, WE CALLED HIM BACK. HE HAD TO WORK AROUND THE BASEMENT. WATERPROOFERS SCHEDULE AS WELL.

THEY SAID THEY WOULD COME BETWEEN 9AM AND 12, BUT WHEN I CALLED THEM THAT MORNING THEY WERE ABLE TO GIVE ME A MUCH CLOSER TIME RANGE. THEY CAME WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD. MICHAEL WAS COURTEOUS, NEAT AND CLEAN, FOUND NO PROBLEMS, CHARGED WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD. A FINE EXPERIENCE, THOUGH THEIR RESPONSE TO AN URGENT PROBLEM WOULD TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE WAY THEY DO BUSINESS.
