Phillips Heating & Air Conditioning Company

Previous company messed up and wouldn't return my phone calls so I called Phillips Heating and they came in and diagnosed the problem, Kevin Phillips came out to double check, and then they ordered what was necessary and finished promptly. Knowledgeable, dependable, punctual, responsible, ethical professionals. You couldn't ask for more. Very pleased with the transaction.

They were very knowledgeable, they were very responsive, and they did the work better than I think other companies would have.

They were very good. They came out and tried very hard to fix it instead of immediately suggesting that I just purchase a new air conditioner. In the end they were not able to repair it and they came out to install a new one. They did a very good job. They did very high quality work. They were even willing to move some stones from a pathway out of the way when they were bringing the unit in.

Excellent. From the service tech who came out to estimate the job to the installation crew, work was thorough, efficient, and well-thought-out. They were flexible, incorporated several requests for different routing, and fast. Not only that, but they put down drop-cloths over carpets when they had to go upstairs, wore foot-booties if they knew that they'd have to leave the drop-cloths, and they swept the entire basement and swept the garage (which they had used as a staging area) when they finished. The furnace was tested for heating, and was fine. With the new furnace fan, the additional duct, and revamp of some of the old duct work, we have gone from 1/3-to-1/2-house air-conditioning to whole-house AC.

They are very professional. I have never had a problem with them. They always come out and do a fine job.

I called up to Dave, the service manager, and he was unbelievably helpful. He helped me work through a problem with my AC/Fan over the phone that saved me a service visit and i'm sure a little bit of money for the visit. You can't say enough about a company that goes the extra mile to help out a customer, even when it would pay for them to do otherwise. Dave, you're the best. You made a customer for life.

I called Phillips Heating and A/C for an estimate on purchase and installation of new Carrier high efficiency furnace and A/C units, along with some ductwork repair and other related services. Jim Phillips was at my house within 48 hours to perform the estimate. Jim took time to assess my needs and discuss my options. He was very open and honest about what I do and don't need, and took the time to explain why. I had spent several days researching the do's and don'ts of HVAC systems and installation, and found that all HVAC professionals concur that choosing a company to use for installation of an HVAC system should never come down to price. It should be based on who you choose to perform the work(reputable companies that have been in business for many years)and performing a thorough analysis to determine the appropriate size of equipment required to meet your needs. Jim was one of those professionals who took the time to measure the square footage of my house, inspect all supply and return air vents and ductwork, assess my windows and insulation, and ask what my future plans were for upgrading windows and insulation. All are required to do a proper analysis and sizing of equipment. Since the calculation for proper sizing takes some time and can't be performed "on the spot", Jim said that he would have a proposal/estimate to me within 48 hours. He provided me with the estimate the following afternoon and followed up with a phone call to ensure that I received it and fully understood it. He also provided me with a copy of the load/size calculation. I received several estimates, but I did received one other proposal from a company that was just as reputable and professional as Phillips'. Although Phillips was very competitive, I decided to go with the other company. I am confident that, had I chosen them, Phillips would have performed the work to my satisfaction. I will recommend Phillips to my friends and neighbors.

Philips was very responsive and professional. He came out to the house, talked with us about what we wanted and evaluated the best placement for the ductwork. He was running 15 minutes late, and called to tell me this - I was floored! He had an estimate to us in 24 hours. The estimate was in the same ballpark as 3 of the 4 estimates we obtained, but was the highest of the three. We wound up hiring someone else, but will call Philips again if we need work done.

They have been really responsive. They call you back. They come and do the job they need to do.

Promptly responded to our request for an estimate. Were able to schedule the work shortly after our authorization. Two man crew arrived when promised and worked until installation was complete, despite some unexpected challenges. Held to their original quote.

They came and showed my husband what was wrong with the system. They said that what was wrong with it could be dangerous. I took their word for it. They came when they were supposed to come. They sat down with us and explained our different choices. They were very professional and we were very pleased with their work.

They have a good reputation and they are able to service the units. The price is reasonable. You get what you pay for. This company was able to give us next day service. The installation went smoothly. We did have a couple of glitches, but they came out the next day to get it right. They have good prompt service. They have been in business forever and there is a good reason why.

Have been pleased with their services. They are always professional, put booties on their feet before walking in the door, and clean up after themselves. Their prices seem a little high to me but I don't think they are much different than the industry standard.

Project did not happen. I used another heating and A/C company.

They came out and were very nice and professional. However, they never provided the estimate, even after calls and emails following up with them. They said they would have an estimate to me but it never appeared. It would have been more helpful if they had simply stated that they were not interested in the job.

As far as I know it was fine. He arrived as scheduled. He did his check and cleaned up. He gave advice on maintenance and told us how to change filters in the future. He was professional and courteous. We will probably be calling them again soon.

They were very thorough. I am very happy with them. Very impressed with them.

I was very satisfied with them. They gave me options and they didn't try to sell me something that I really didn't need. They even taught me how to work the registers right to have good air flow through the house. They were clean, friendly, and I was comfortable having them around. They cleaned up so well that I couldn't even tell work had been done.

Overall it went great - the 1st appointment was scheduled quickly & done on time. Rick spent quite a bit of time with me explaining the problem, my options, and his recommendations. He did several estimates for me, and over the next few days promptly answered the questions I had, plus quickly scheduled the installation once I decided to go ahead. The guys who came to install my new furnace were excellent, finished by afternoon, left things cleaned up when done. I did have to call for a follow-up (Rick had said he would return in 2-3 weeks for this) but he again scheduled quickly. I liked everyone I had contact with - the first rep (Rick), the guys who installed, office people on the phone!

The service manager, Dave, was very helpful in explaining their services. They came with two days' notice. They were prompt and pleasant and did the work with the cost they estimated over the phone. Very good company from this one experience.

Tenants did not have heat. I called Phillips who came out and determined that the spark ignition module was bad. After installing the spark ignition module the furnace started but 2 radiators were not working. The tech speculated that the pump was bad but said that he could not be sure without taking out the pump. I told the technician to let it go and that I would look at it later. I went to the property later that day. I brought with me my multi-meter and confirmed that the pump was bad in less then 5 minutes by checking the amperage. I called Phillips back and they said they thought it would cost about $500 for a new pump. I then called Liberty Heating who did an incredible job. Jason from Liberty Heating came out and verified the pump was bad and replaced it for $225.00 and was extremely nice. I think that Phillips was overpriced and should have been able to troubleshoot the pump with a basic understanding of electrical motors instead of guessing.

They came significantly after the time window (8 to 12) and they came about 1:30. Then proceeded to take another hour to get the temp up on the boiler enough to observe pressure. I would have appreciated warning about this as I could have saved them time by increasing the temperature before their arrival. Said the pressure tank was too small and recommended full replacement at a cost of 600+. I decided to see if the home warranty would cover the cost instead of using them because the price seemed high.

I can't say enough good things about this company. When I called after finding I had no heat on a Sunday night, they returned my call promptly and sent someone out right away. Eric determined the problem (blocked chimney) and removed a bushel of soot after which the furnace worked as it should. He recommended a chimney liner which I am now looking into having installed.

During the repair call they tried to sell me their annual maintenance package. I declined but asked him what I needed to clean myself. He proceeded to disable the burner to show me what I would have to do (which involved a lot of disassembly). In addition to fixing the pressure release valve he also drained the expansion tank in case that might be causing too much pressure in the system.

Friendly, fair, and prompt. Appointment was made on the day I called. The tech arrived the day as promised but a bit later than scheduled (which worked out ok because I was running behind). Problem was diagnosed within minute and the whole job from start to finish took about 1/2 hour. It was $69 for the trip and $20 to repair the problem. I just called this company again to see about installing a humidifier so I'll see how this goes.
