Work was done quickly and professionally. With winter coming it was critical to get the access points for water and pests closed, and to protect the house from further weathering.

The company wasn't able to accommodate my request, but followed up quickly with a recommendation for someone who could do the work. The recommendation was appreciated, as was the speedy response.

Mr. Perry was very responsive when we first called and prompt with coming out to give us an estimate and explaining it. When he came to do the work he was punctual and had us look over the superb job he did before asking for payment and leaving. We would recommend his work to anyone looking for brick pointing. Good price and quality work!

They were very responsive and the work was great. They showed up and reviewed the project and discussed some solutions. Were great to deal with. Fixed the wall and the chimney and they look great.

Ed Perry is a top notch contractor. We first reached out to him a few months ago because our home was in need of a good repointing. Our chimney had a few sizable gaps between several stones as did each exterior wall. It wasn't in awful shape (Ed actually said our house was built like a bank and is in great shape), but all homes need maintenance and that was the case here. He made himself available to come out and give us an estimate within a few days of our first call. His assessment of the house was thorough and while his estimate was a bit steep (because we had no idea what to expect), we totally understood why by the time he was done. He is the best of the best and the best can be pricey (but, again, worth it!). We'd reached out to other masons at the same time, but no one else got back to us. After reading the reviews of Ed and his employees, we decided to just go with him. So happy we did. It took him a while to get out here because he is so in demand and also because we've had such a rainy summer. Worth the wait! He had our whole house pointed in two days and he and his employee did an exceptional job. He consulted with me about the color selection on the day he got here and we both agreed that the options he had were very close to what we already had. As a graphic artist, my eyes are trained to see differences in color. You absolutely cannot tell that Ed did anything to our home other than all the holes being gone. The color matching of the new mortar to the 75 year old mortar was done with precision. Ed went above and beyond for us. Outside of the pointing we'd hired him to do, he took it upon himself to fix up an area on the front steps that was kind of a mess. The steps had settled, making it look like they were pulling away from the house and leaving a couple of cracks and general ugliness. Additionally, the last pad of our walkway that met with the bottom step had also settled, and the caulking that had been placed in the gap years ago by the last owner was peeling and unsightly. I came outside to Ed chiseling away all of the old stuff and recaulking everything. It looks great now! I hadn't even thought to have him do that and he may have saved us from the costly expense of replacing the steps. Before I forget, there's one more nice thing Ed did for us. We have a tile roof and, from what he told us, the tiles are rare, expensive and hard to get your hands on, so he won't go on this type in order to reach the back side of a chimney. Darn. Well, we've got a fantastic roofer and think we can convince him to do a few patches if they are needed while he's here the next time. Ed left us sand and color matched mortar so that we've got it all ready when the time comes. How nice is that? He didn't have to do that, but he did. Awesome. Anytime a contractor comes to your house, it's a gamble. We've hired contractors with amazing reviews and something still goes horribly awry. When you find someone who loves their job, is a master at what they do, and will go above and beyond what you asked of them, that's the person you keep in your black book of awesome contractors and hire over and over. Ed is going into our black book. He is a true professional, a nice guy, and has been doing this long enough to know exactly what needs done (and exactly what doesn't). If you need a stonemason, Ed is your guy.

He responded back the same day letting me know that he does not do the work that I needed done. He referred me to someone who does.

Mr. Perry indicated that the problem was not with the chimney and was probably due to a foundation issue. We already had an estimate for repairing the foundation. Although Mr. Perry could have bid on the job himself, he said that the other estimate was good and to go with that. We were extremely impressed with his honesty. Based on our experience, we would not hesitate to call Perry Masonry in the future.

Ed came to look at job and sent a written quote within 2 weeks of our first contact. Had his insurance people send a copy of his certificate of insurance as well. -- This is the way it's supposed to be done! We agreed to contract late last year just before weather turned bad and he couldn't to work until this spring We knew this when we gave him the job. Ed called when the weather broke and gave me his start date. This was a difficult chimney as it is freestanding at the front of a cape cod style house and access to all sides is not easy. On top of that, they had to work from a steep pitched slate roof which requires TLC. They had the proper ladders and pads to provide safe access to the work areas. The job was well done and completed on time. Clean up was good. Very professional, a pleasure to work with all the way around. Gave him another job to do pointing around the rest of the house, I look forward to working with him.

First of all, points to Ed for returning my call and following through with an actual estimate of the work we needed done. I called SIX different masonry (from Angie's list!) looking for quotes to repoint two cracks above our garage door. Only three returned my call, one called back but never showed up for the estimate. Only Ed and one other contractor gave me estimates. The other contracted quoted $1,200 for the repointing ALONE. Ed quoted $750 for the repointing AND replacing the bricks on the chimney. Although I had not asked for a quote for the chimney, I was aware that it needed to be done, and was impressed that Ed had seen the need and had built that into his quote for a reasonable price. I told Ed I was waiting for one more quote and would get back to him soon, but it was actually at least a month before I called him back. I half expected him to change his price, schedule it months out, or reject the job outright. But he called me back within 48 hours and told me he could come out almost right away to do the work. Ed and his workman arrived punctually on the scheduled date and set to work. Ed did the repointing over the garage himself, and his partner (I didn't get his name) worked on the chimney. During the work, several more bricks over the garage and chimney were identified as needing replacement or repair, which they did WITHOUT changing the price!! Whenever I checked on the work, Ed was happy to describe and show what he was doing, and was also very knowledgeable about the house's brick construction and features. The work was done and all debris cleaned up within four hours. By the time they were cleaning up, I could see areas where the new mortar had dried, and the color matched the old mortar almost exactly. Overall, I'm very pleased with Ed's professionalism, punctuality, prices, and quality of work. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to my neighbors!!

They did a great job and even did some extra work with some leftover mortar from the outside job. They found places that the mortar needed replacing and filled them in at no extra charge. They were quiet and cleaned up after they were done.

I got two estimates for this job, and Perry's was slightly lower than the other one. Ed showed up when he said he would, gave me a clear explanation of what he would do and why alternatives suggested by another contractor wouldn't work, finished the job in a timely manner, and cleaned up afterwards. They did a great job--I'm entirely pleased with it. After they went on up the house the first time they pointed our a box gutter problem that needed attention and recommended a good worker who came out and fixed the problem at a reasonable cost. (Another roofer must have seen the same thing but didn't mention it for some reason.) About 15 year ago Perry Masonry pointed another house for me and I was 100% pleased with that job as well. I would recommend this company to anyone, and in fact I DID recommend them to my next door neighbors. They also had Perry Masonry do the job, and it looks good.

Provider showed up as promised, completed the work. He then returned a couple weeks later to put some additional weather-proofing on the crown so that it would last longer until the time comes to replaced it entirely.

Ed and Rick arrived on time and did the work completely in a half day. Everything done to satisfaction, and cleaned up everything when done. Very professional and competent....would use again if need arises.

NA at this time. No work was performed. But I intend to use Perry Masonry when I am able to schedule the work. I do not want to share my review with Band of Neighbors for confidential purposes related to the unresolved matter.

Contacted Mr. Perry to come evaluate areas on our house that needed brick pointing. He came the same day we spoke on the phone and evaluated our house. He identified we had more problems needing addressed then brick pointing. He provided us with a name and number of another provider who performs the work needed. Called that provider and they also came out the same day and provided us with great information. Mr. Perry was helpful and honest and provided another great company that could help us with that specific problem. I would recommend him to anyone. Thank you Mr. Perry!

We liked the proposal from Mr Perry, but finally we have decided to postpone the work until 2015. We are planning to work with Mr Perry when the project is done.

Ed provided a very competitive price for cleaning the brick on our 89 year old home. The brick had never been cleaned and was very dirty. It now looks 100% better. Ed was able to work us into his schedule sooner than he at first indicated, which was good. What I especially liked was that Ed worked with me to not be too aggressive with the cleaning, because I didn't want the expense of having to repoint the brick. His work was excellent.

I would highley recommend Perry Masonry. Ed and his crew do great work and on top of that Ed is honest and straightforward which seems hard to come by now a days.
