April 2012...Needed to find just the right chair for our new home. It had to be the right color, style, etc. Worked with Alison Kamm at Perlora. Choose the style of fabric I wanted and the color. 8 weeks turn around time. Great! I would have my chair for our heaviest entertaining season. WRONG! Called the store today. The salesperson, Alison was on her second day off. I had left a voice mail yesterday June 27th and had heard nothing back from her. Today, June 28th, spoke with Patti. Please keep in mind that these salespeople will say anything to cover their behinds and lie right to your face. She told me she would look into my order but thought that Alison had told her that the fabric was back ordered..."Didn't Alison call you?" NO Alison did not. Patti stated she would call me back when she had more info. I waited three hours. Finally called Patti back. Patti stated she had left me a message...my phone never rang. The manufacturer has the fabric but takes the entire week of July 4th off so no work will be done that week! REALLY? This company in SC is doing so well it can take a week's vacation and stop production? Wow! Then, with the shipping of the chair, they may pick it up but it may sit with other freight for another week...I asked if they could have found a better shipping company. Patti stated that this was the best there was...REALLY? My advice to anyone looking to order furniture from Perlora is to stay away. If you can't do cash and carry, stay away. They have your money for months on end and you have NOTHING! They did this when I ordered my couch from them and unfortunately I thought it was a one time problem. IT ISN'T! The sale people don't care about you after the sale and the company culture is to say whatever will get you off their backs. I won't see my chair for another four weeks...with a huge party planned on the 27th! STAY AWAY FROM PERLORA!
Description of Work: Ordered a custom made chair from this establishment. Spent time picking out just the right color, type of fabric, etc. Had ordered a custom couch from them earlier in the year. There were problems at that time, but felt it was just a fluke. This is a no money back sale due the specific ordering of the furniture.
