Description of Work: When I added a large addition to my home in 2006/2007, I purchased all carpet and tile from Penn Carpet. They also agreed to add a heated floor in the bathroom. When I attempted to activate the heating, I was unable to get it to function. I repeatedly phoned the vendor requesting an owner's manual, because I thought that I was failing to set the thermostadt correctly. The requests were repeated for weeks, and then a friend who is an electrical engineer looked at it and said he believed that there was something wrong. I then phoned Ferry Electric Co., and asked them to send someone to inspect it. When he did, he found that during installation wires had been cut too short, and the installers simply twisted the wires together without a junction box, which then was enclosed in the wall. As a result, when it was activated the GFI protector prevented it from functioning. Their representative said that had that not happened there was a very good chance that there would have been a fire within the wall. He took pictures of the wiring, and wrote a report that stated it not only didn't meet code, but was a fire hazard. I wrote to Penn Carpet with this information, and received no response. I then engaged an attorney to write to them. They ignored that also. I then filed a complaint with a magistrate, who notified them. They also failed to reply again. Then a constable was contacted by the magistrate. He went to Penn Carpet on a Friday and told them which vehicles and other items of value that he would take on Monday to satisfy my $5,000. claim. They gave him a check for payment in full on Monday. I chose not to report them on the issue of the heated floor since the tile and carpet seemed satisfactory. However, I am now forced to replace the living and dining room carpets. They have many ripples due to poor installation. This I feel justifies making this report.

Description of Work: I had problems cleaning the dark (not the light) wood floor and later with serious damage done to it by dragging instead of lifting a very heavy item. I called Ray who stopped by and provided needed info/service. They spent two afternoons with me one-on-one helping me find flooring to fit my limited budget. They provided two types of wood flooring- one for master bedroom and the other for the living room, dining room and halls, and they carpeted the den.
