They kept their word. They are just an honest trustworthy company. You would have never known they were there other than the repairs because they did such a good job to pick up everything after themselves.
Description of Work: They came and repaired a line on our water heater. They also repaired a line hooked to our dryer and a line also hooked to our furnace.

We had to have them come back a week later because there was a leak in the new plumbing. They were apologetic and came back for free and successfully fixed the leak. We would've given them an "A" had there not been the leak in the new plumbing.
Description of Work: Removed old kitchen sink and plumbing; installed new kitchen sink & faucet we'd purchased and put in new plumbing with vent.

The drain for the tub and sink go through the same pipe so both are clogged when one is. The guy who came out was not a master plumber, but this was an emergency and they were the closest to me.
Description of Work: They ran the snake down the drain in the bathtub and the sink to unclog them.

I have never had such good service from a plumber in all my life. They were very neat and efficient. They were professional and performed high quality work. They charged a very fair price and I will be using Pawlak Plumbing again when needed.

The drain has worked fine ever since. It was a small job, but they came shortly after I called. They took apart certain parts of the drainage system, cleaned it out and put it back together again. They were very easy to work with.

I was very surprised that they sent a plumber out the same morning I called. I thought the job would be simple, but it turned out to be much more complicated than expected and the job took 2 1/2 hours. The plumber was very conscientious, courteous, and diligent. He had to make some parts and he also checked very carefully for leaks.

The men were extremely prompt, were quick to diagnose the problem, and provided the hourly rate for labor in advance. They did what I consider to be a fantastic job in a reasonable time with little disruption to the yard. There was obviously no attempt to extend the labor hours as the work was completed without delay and in a very expedient fashion. The workers were polite and provided ongoing updates to my wife as the work progressed. They even suggested to her that she take digital photos of the various stages of work so that I too could see exactly what was done when I got home from work, a suggestion that was greatly appreciated. Overall, I couldn't have been more pleased with the service and with the cost of the completed project, which I am told was very reasonable by acquaintances who have had similar work performed.
Description of Work: Pawlak was contacted regarding a clogged downspout/drain that was causing the gutters to overflow against the house. They sent two men out on the next business day to investigate the problem. It was discovered that the downspout did not empty into the line that drains to the street, but instead emptied into a leach pit very close to the foundation of the house. They suggested a remedy of digging a shallow trench and directing a new drain pipe to the street. While they initially did not expect to perform the service that day, they rearranged their work schedule to complete the job due to a pending weather forecast that called for substantial rain the following day. The men hand dug the trench with little disruption to the surrounding yard and laid approximately 70 feet of PVC through the yard to empty near the street. They also reconnected the discharge from our basement sump pit into the new line, which was a vast improvement over the original installation (performed by another company). The workers also refilled the trench with the existing soil and left little residue beyond some rocks and roots that were removed as the trench was dug.

I placed a call yesterday after reviewing the list. They promptly came today to fix the pipes outside. In an unscheduled request they checked a possible leak into my kitchen ceiling form the bathroom. Finding no overt leak, they did snake the drain to the bathtub since it was draining very slowly. After that was completed they explained why it kept happening and for future consideration I was given an option to replace an outdated drain system. The plumbers took the request in stride and completed it quickly. As for the possible leak I was advised to wait to see if an obvious sign of water emerges.
Description of Work: The outside pipes/spigot for garden hose were replaced. The drain pipes in my bathtub were snaked for clogs.

We called Mr. Pawlak and arranged for an evaluation of a second floor shower that was leaking into the ceiling of the room below. He came and reviewed the problem and arranged to return when he had had time to diagnose and repair the problem. He returned on time on the date previously arranged and diagnosed the problem as a leaking drain in the shower. This required him to access the drain through a wall and floor in a an adjacent room rather than through the ceiling of the room below which would have been cosmetically more unappealing. He completed the work on a second day. There is no leak. He commented that he was not a carpenter and the wall and floor remains for us to repair, which is fine with us. At all times he was professional and kept the work area clean. We would use him again.
Description of Work: We had a leak in the second floor shower that came down into the kitchen ceiling below. M. pawlak came initially to review the bathroom and where the leak was coming into the kitchen. He returned to diagnose the problem as a leaking drain in the shower rather than the shower head or the water faucet fixture. He informed us that he would access the shower floor form an adjacent room rather than through the kitchen ceiling. He had to chip away some of the concrete base to access and repair the drain.

They do a good job! Parts and labor are included in the price. They've been pretty good about cleaning up.
Description of Work: They are installing a water heater that has a built in exhaust fan that draws away the fumes and replacing a shut off valve. They are also putting an opening on the outside of my house to run the new vent system over. They also had to remove pipes and the existing water heater. I have used them before as well.

Besides $100 for the replacement kit, we paid $295.51 for Pawlak's 1st visit and were invoiced $283.49 for the 2nd. On the 1st visit they installed shut off valves for the shower (we figured that solution ourselves) and, based on the schematics which clearly showed 1/2" and 3/4" sizes, recommended the 1/2" kit for purchase. On the 2nd visit, with schematics in hand, Pawlak's plumber not only failed again to see the mistake but tried to make the wrong kit fit and still left us with a leaking shower; now with an exposed lever...and a dislocated tub faucet, rendering the shower unusable. In addition, a driveway sensor light was run over by their van during the first visit, shutting the entire right side off; on the 2nd visit, the plumber helped himself to towels *in our hamper* to clean up his job! We threw them away. Towels are tools of the trade professionals should have. They're responsive until we e-mailed complaining about the work; we also left messages: they've simply ignored us.
Description of Work: A leaking valve in our 2nd floor master bathroom shower damaged the plaster ceiling of our 1st floor foyer. On a 1st visit they installed shut off valves to cut water supply to the shower and recommended the purchase of a 1/2" valve size seat washer replacement kit instead of the 3/4" option offered by the vendor recommended by American Standard, which turned out to be a mistake. On a 2nd visit the plumber tried for hours to make the kit fit, unsuccessfully. The temperature lever still leaks, and to prevent water collection the employee suggested not replacing the dial plate, leaving the lever exposed. The shower is unusable. We're invoiced for $283.49 for the work done on that day.

All seemed well until I finished my project, reinstalled the sink and turned on the tap. Water rained down again. This caused more damage to the ceiling, cracks and a large bubble in the plaster. I called Tim to report this and asked if he'd take responsibility. He would only agree to send someone out again to assess the problem. He sent out the same two men. They tested from the bathtub, the toilet and when they tested from the sink water rained down (more damage.) Because of the new bathroom floor, they cut a large L shaped hole in the living room ceiling. They found the elbow joint from the new pipe to the toilet had a large hole in it and replaced it. They admitted that they didn't test from the sink drain the first time. Tim expects me to pay for the first two visits (estimate and replacing pipes that were not damaged) and will not agree to pay for the repair of my living room ceiling. He is not charging for the visit where his employees did replace the damaged joint.
Description of Work: Preparing to replace my bathroom floor, I clogged an already slow draining sink when cleaning concrete dust. I broke a pipe when I used a strong chemical to unclog it. Water leaked through the ceiling below causing minimal damage. I called Pawlak, described the problem and that I thought the clog/break was near the toilet based on the amount of time it took the sink to back up. Tim gave me an estimate over the phone of about $150. and scheduled an employee to come out. When he came out he said the job involved more than first thought. He said the toilet and sink (which hangs on the wall) would need to be removed and a new estimate was needed. He went to the van, spoke with Tim for about 20 min. and came back with a quote of $95. per hour + materials. I scheduled this for 2/8. Two men came about 2 hrs. late after calling that they had an emergency. They removed the sink from the wall and broke out a chunk. They replaced the drain from sink to toilet. They tested from the toilet drain.

They provided the toilet. The toilet was a higher quality than what I probably would have picked out. I'm satisfied with what they did. I have dogs. Even though my dogs were outside, the guy that came the second time complained about my dogs. I didn't need him to be on me about my dogs. It was unpleasant.

Great experience - returned phone call quickly and was ready to set a date/time. I had to reschedule, but they were very accommodating. Called 15 minutes before they were going to arrive. Plumbers were friendly and had a great personality. Worked on sink drain (snake) for along time, but they were professional and cleaned up the mess when they were finished. Other plumber (two came) worked on bathtub faucet while one snaked the drain. Both jobs completed in under an hour. It has been two weeks and everything is working just fine! Also - no bill on departure - this is a plus and minus since I didn't know how much it would cost, but they also weren't breathing down my neck for payment. Bill arrived - pleasantly surprised at how little the cost for two plumbers was! Very pleased and will definitely call Pawlak again for future plumbing needs.

They arrived on time and did an excellent job. From start to finish the plumber explained what he was going to do and only completed work after I had agreed to having it done. They were very professional and also helpful (as I always have to ask a lot of questions). The toilet is now properly sealed to the floor with proper working insides and no leaks.
Description of Work: They repaired where the toilet was not properly connected to the floor and was therefore leaking. The insides of the toilet had also gone bad and it was not sealing properly. They repaired the toilet inside and out. They also fixed several small drips in the bathtubs.

Contacted Pawlak plumbing based on Angie's List reviews. Spoke with owner, Tim, who came out the next day to give an estimate for a dishwasher installation (we needed electrical and plumbing work and a cabinet removed). Rec'd estimate of $600 for 6 hours of work. Scheduled install a few weeks later after we had gotten in all the parts we needed (had to order things on-line). Scheduled install for Monday starting between 9 and 10:30 am. By noon that day the installer had not shown up, called Pawlak plumbing earlier in the AM to inquire about when install would begin and finally spoke with Tim around 12:30 pm. I was told that the installer had some personal issues to attend to but that he was eating lunch in the area near my home and would be there by 1:15-1:30, I explained that this was too late and rescheduled. I decided to get some addt'l estimates and had the job done for $200 less. I would have been more understanding if the installer had called to tell me he would be 3 hours late.
Description of Work: Work was not performed by Pawlak plumbing. Got another Angie's List company to do the work for $200 less than quoted by Pawlak plumbing. ($600)
