PAWLAK PLUMBING INC

Two separate jobs were performed by this company. The first was the video scope of the plumbing, as recommended by our home inspector. The house we purchased is 90+ years old and we wanted to make sure there were no major problems with the plumbing. Two workers came to perform this service. I watched while they did the scope and they found no major problems. This cost $150, but was well worth the peace of mind. When we scheduled the scope, we also asked if they could give us a quote on other plumbing work to be done in the house on the interior pipes (clearing them) and the gas lines (cutting them off to unusable fireplace heaters). Unfortunately, when they came to do the scope they said that "Tim" was the only one who could offer a quote and he was not there. This was very disappointing since we were in the process of negotiating on the house and really needed the quote. We called Tim later and he was able to fax over a rough estimate. The second job we had performed was to clear the drains. I called in the morning the day we moved in and they arrived within an hour. One worker came to do this. He wore little booties over his shoes when he came in. He cleared the bathroom sink pipes and the laundry tub. He also advised me on how to keep these old pipes clear. This service cost $90 (the hourly rate). It only took him maybe 30 minutes to clear the drains. The laundry tubs were all backed up and filled with water, he warned me that it was going to spill all over the basement floor, which it did. If I had anything down there, that might have been a problem, but we had just moved in and the floor was pretty clear.

As stated before, the plumbers were here on time and were shown the problems with the bathroom sink. They notified me that the pipes leading into the wall needed to be worked on and asked about making the opening larger to access the pipes. I stated that because the wall was in an unobserved area, they were free to do what ever was needed! I was assured that as much care as possible would be taken to limit the possible destruction. They were as good as their word, even to giving me the wall tile removed that were not destroyed. They quickly cleaned and removed the trap and cleaned the stack with a motorized snake. A problem was located with some of the plumbing that had been worked on when the sink was installed a couple of years ago. The two gentlemen immediately showed the utmost care in removing and repairing the previous plumbing problem and repaired the broken drain stopper as well as cleaning the slow drain problem. They cleaned the area and removed any debris. They than double and triple checked all connections to assure no leaks but stated any call backs would be at their cost and not mine. The work was done in an efficient and workman like manner and the plumbers were polite and very professional. I was totally satisfied and would recommend Pawlak Plumbing to any one with a plumbing problem and will use the company as any future problems or remodeling comes up.

The work crew were very good about introducing themselves when they arrived and explaining what they were doing while they were doing it. I'll definitely call them again.

They were prompt. They did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. I would definitely use them again. The two man team did an excellent job.

We had a backed-up main stack. The plumber diagnosed problem and recommended work. When placing cover back over clean out hole, plumber did not properly seal clean out hole. It leaked that night and left us without use of our water on the first and second floor. They came back to repair the leak and it leaked again. They came back a third time and fixed it again.

The owner of the company returned my call quickly. After a brief discussion of my plumbing needs, he gave me some ideas. Unfortunately, my problem was in the basement and was going to involve going through a thick concrete floor. Very polite and helpful, just wasn't a job that they handle. Said he would gladly give me the names of other plumbers who were better equipped to handle this tough job. Very nice and for normal plumbing problems I wouldn't hesitate to give this company a call. Thank you for being honest, much appreciated.

They were great. They were polite and on time. They cleaned up after themselves when they left. They were knowledgeable and were fine working with an older house. I would use them again.

They came over and tried to fix our old toilet the first time, but were unable to as the toilet we had was the wrong type. They recommended we get a new toilet and they would install it. They came back over with the new toilet and installed it.

They were on time and very knowledgeable to what they were doing.

Our phone call was returned promptly and an appointment scheduled within a couple of days. Tim Pawlak was very knowledgeable and great to talk to. He suggested solutions and made recommendations as requested. Their pricing is competitive and he would have been able to start the work within a week. Although we decided not to use them at this time, we would certainly consult with Pawlak Plumbing in the future.

The first visit, the plumbers came right on time and set to work very quickly. They fixed the diverter (and replaced a leaky valve on a toilet). They set to work on the cold shower, taking it apart, cleaning the screens, etc. They thought they solved the problem since all the screens were extremely dirty, but could not get hot water to the shower. (Hot water was fine in the sink next to this shower.) Unfortunately, they scheduled another appointment and had to leave without solving the shower. Their concern was that they'd need to put a hole into the wall to get at the mixing valve. Tim Pawlak came to give an estimate on replacing the mixing valve. However, he was unsuccessful finding the appropriate part -- I had to use the internet myself to match the fixture and valve. Considering I told him the brand, I thought a plumber might be able to do this. A colleague suggested a solution -- he had a similar problem and cleaning out the pipes solved the issue. I suggested Pawlak try this before opening our walls and on the second visit, this worked beautifully. My complaints above are relatively minor.(Thus the "professionalism" grade of B is on the plumbing issues mentioned above.) I found everyone from the company to be courteous, punctual and helpful at getting the work done well. Our showers are now operating great and we appreciate the good work.

They were punctual, professional and didn't leave a mess. We are very pleased.

Had a leak in basement on Sunday. Stayed home Monday to call a plumber. I called Pawlak because he was so highly rated. He said he wasn't sure he could get someone to my house Monday, but could send someone Tuesday. I told him I'd try to find someone to come that day but if I couldn't I'd call him back. After reviewing Angie's List I decided to hold out for Pawlak and called him back. Around 4 PM, sure enough, a plumber showed up. Very nice, very professional, showed me that the drain was backing up to an area of pipe that had been repaired just with pipe tape by previous owners, which was causing leaking at the tape. He snaked the drain and showed me the gunk that was clogging everything, cut out the portion of pipe that had been leaking, and put in a new section with a clean-out. He had to work around painters who were at the house and happened to be cleaning their brushes at the time he came, right in the area he needed to work, but he was nice about it. After he was finished working, he wiped up the entire area and if not for the new section of pipe, I would never have known he was there. He couldn't give me an estimate before starting work because he said he was new and didn't know the billing practices, but I trusted the reviews on Angie's List that the price would be fair and went ahead with the work. A couple of days later the bill came and was lower than I had expected. I'm completely satisfied.

Water was coming from near toilet area. Handyman couldn't solve, I couldn't solve. Pawlak Plumbing showed up on time (early in fact) and had it solved in no time. Very professional and sensitive to the fact that it was rental property with tenants.

I initially used Pawlak to fix a plumbing problem in the basement. I was so happy with their work and professionalism that I had to hug the plumber before he left!! When I ran into problems with the bathroom plumbing I did not hesitate to call them back. They were fast and did excellent work. I also used their bathroom contractor, Dan DeBor, to do the remodeling. The work was just beautiful and he was also very professional. I can't say enough good things about this company, especially after having horrible experiences with other companies in the area. When I initially called them I was told that they were backed up with work and that I had to wait a week. It was well worth the wait!! Also, I was kept up to date on every aspect of when they would show up at the house, which was quite a courtesy!

Overall it went very well, Mark was on time and went right to work.It was done well in 2 hours.

Two plumbers arrived to do the job. They were very nice, professional and got right to work. One guy worked on the bathtub while the other guy started working on the basement items. It took them about 3 hours to complete the work. I had to request that they leave the old copper pipes because we want to recycle them (for money, of course). One guy said that they normally take the copper with them, but said they would leave it if I really wanted them to.

They did have some unexpected problems getting a piece out that had been previously soldered in by someone else. The entire job did take a while. But, they were patient and persevered and were able to finish the job without having to come back the following day, which I really appreciated. They were professional and on time. The price was very reasonable for the work they did. I was extremely pleased overall.

They are excellent and deserve all the highest acclaims on Angie's List. They come out when they say they will. They are prompt, clean and explain what they are doing and why. They repair and find ways to save money where they can for me. They are very friendly and helpful.

Two guys showed up and it took about a hour and I had them fix a few faucets. They also put a triple wax ring around the toilette to prevent leaks. I was really impressed how neat and easy it was.

The two plumbers showed up on time and started work immediately. They had the old pipe cut out and the new pipe installed in less than 30 minutes. I was amazed! They were polite and very professional. They swept up and left the area clean. I would definitely recommend this company to all my friends and family. They did a great job.

Plumber returned with a new water heater in two hours. Took out old and installed new in a very short time. When he removed the old, he checked with me regarding my cats as they are totally indoors so they wouldn't scoot out the open door. That was very thoughtful. New water heater has a six year warranty so we don't have to worry for awhile. Plumber left the area cleaner than it was. Thanks to Mark (the plumber) for being professional yet personable.

They were very prompt and even came hours before we expected them. I called on a Saturday afternoon and they came first thing Monday morning. They were very professional and courteous. I would certainly choose them again. We appreciated the honesty in not spending hours trying to fix the two faucets that needed replaced. They took a look at them and advised us to buy new and install them ourselves. They could have easily ripped us off.

We are satisfied. They were knowledgeable. They knew what to do and how to do it. They were punctual. They worked when they could as they were doing another job also.
