Three employees were on site. Yet, one employee decided to move a 76” glass door wall unit himself. He dropped the piece off of the lift. Badly damaged. It would cost a conservative estimate of $3000 to replace. We found a reputable furniture restoration person to restore the piece. $750. The General Manager accused us of extortion because we wanted the full $750. He said that we should have bought the insurance for an additional $200 with a deductible. How is this fair when their employee was at fault?? We left a message with VP Adam in corporate. We were told that he would return our call in 48 hours. Still no call after 9 days ago & additional phone calls.

Moving Ahead Services (MAS) is a DISGRACEFUL operation. Unfortunately, we were deceived by MAS’ online sales claims. We recently paid them almost $10000 for storage and moving us 100 miles in Western Pennsylvania. Although we have moved 5 times over the past 25 years there was never an issue with previous moving companies. MAS lost 1/3 of our items including TWENTY-SIX boxes with personal statements and other irreplaceable items, such as rare books and collectibles from various countries. They also broke several items, including a cedar porch swing, handmade bench, antique cabinet (lost key and broken glass), and leg on antique tea cart. I also experienced identify theft during this time, which was likely attributable to the loss of documents. They make false promises and deliver items that belong to other people, which demonstrates that other clients are also losing items. Do not believe that the so-called "insurance" will provide coverage either - you pay a lot for nothing. After providing documentation and photos we were offered an insulting $100 settlement on a $5000 claim. Moreover, we did not hear anything from this third-party insurance "team flamingo" for 5 months as they “reviewed” our claim. Online postings reveal this is a scam insurance operation located in Florida that plays defense for disreputable moving operations. MAS also did not assemble some furniture that was delivered. Employees promised multiple times to return with new hardware to assemble our bed. They lost hardware for storage racks, tables, and other furniture. We phoned the local operation in Pittsburgh as well as MAS dispatch in Cleveland multiple times over several months with our concerns and were repeatedly told somebody would be out to resolve the issues. NOBODY ever showed and we still have partially assembled furniture 5 months later. MAS is shameful, dishonest, incompetent, and doesn't care about your belongings, or respond to your concerns. It should not pretend to be a legitimate business. They are a predatory operation that creates an illusion that they are customer focused. I strongly caution people who value their belongings to not hire this corrupt and appalling outfit for anything, but rather search out reputable moving firms. WE HAVE CALLED THEIR OFFICES A DOZEN TIMES AND NOBODY IS EVER AVAILABLE TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM THEY CREATED. WE ARE ALWAYS TOLD THAT SOMEBODY WILL GET BACK TO US AND IT NEVER HAPPENS. THE ARROGANCE OF THIS OPERATION IS ASTOUNDING! MAS WAS DELIGHTED TO TAKE OUR PAYMENTS IN EXCESS OF $9000 BUT FAILED TO DELIVER ON ANY PROMISES. THEIR SO CALLED "SETTLEMENT" OF LESS THAN 10 CENTS ON THE DOLLAR OF OUR CLAIM IS REDICULOUS.

It went seamlessly, they are impressive. The Cleveland office contacted me right away, their rates are fabulous and they do not charge for all the little stupid stuff like wrapping mirrors etc. They let me know the whole status all the way along, with phone calls and emails. I could not believe the price for excellent service! 3 polite men and a large truck - they worked the whole time. I am definitely going to refer them to others for any moving.

Moving ahead did a phenomenal job! The movers called me day of with an exact time estimate and were quick to load the truck, even with the heat of the summer. They covered everything with tarps and did a great job ensuring my items would not be broken. Would hire again if service is needed.

My star rating says it all. I was hesitant to hire a place based in Cleveland Ohio, but they have a local Pittsburgh presence (Mt. Nebo Road) and that is who moved me. Everyone I met was very friendly but more importantly, they did a fantastic job with the move, wrapping my furniture and not banging furniture into walls etc. I had boxes delivered and used their services (Junk removal) to remove everything from the house with the move. They also will take non-perishable food and donate to a local food pantry which I took advantage of. I would not hesitate to hire them again. They are top notch!

Aside from the fact that their diesel truck wouldn’t start on a zero degree day and they had to rent a truck, everything went smoothly. The truck snafu delayed their stated start time by about an hour but they promptly notified us regarding the issue. The $945 cost was considerably below their estimate and our expectation.

Moving ahead was SO easy to work with. I found them through thumbtack. They were the first and only company to provide me a quote (fast) and I was able to start a conversation with them right away. They were understanding that the move needed to happen quickly and they made it happen within a few days and precisely during the time frame they estimated. I thought the price was very reasonable as well.

Working with moving ahead was a great experience. We plan to hire them again next time we move.

I was called a half hour before my scheduled time and told they had to cancel and I could schedule a move next week. It's extremely hard to get someone else that short notice on a Saturday. Someone called off and it caused problems completing the move before mine. I understand things happen but as a company they should have on-call employees that can come in when those types of situations happen. They did eventually move me. My scheduled time was 9:10am and the start of the move ended up being close to 9pm. They were nice and I received discounts which helped.

Contact prior to the move was great and pretty good throughout. They loaded the truck on a Friday, stored it for the weekend, and unloaded at the new house on Monday. Initial papers indicated 6 movers, but there were only 3 for the whole day, with an additional 3 there for part of the day. The process seemed to take much longer than they expected. I had to leave before they were done and they said they would continue until they finished, but they ended up leaving shortly after I did, leaving several items they were supposed to have taken. They had to return Monday morning to get those before going to the new house, and as our closing was at 11 and they had to have everything out by 10am, neither I nor the realtor was happy at their 10am arrival. Unloading at the new house again had only three people the entire day, with a few additional for a part of the day. Although in general the loading and unloading went fairly well, multiple well-labeled boxes found their way into places that made no sense (master bath boxes in the storage shed!). Our refrigerator door arrived with numerous rather large dents (to me at least - they are visible from several feet away). They offered $100 off the cost and I said that was fine and will just hang something over it. If that had been the only thing, I could have lived with it, but over the course of the next week or so as we unpacked and moved furniture, we found additional items with damage that they knew they damaged. A wheel on an antique desk was broken off (not fixable with that wheel) and as I found the wheel inside the desk drawer, they had to have known. A large storage bin with multiple drawers must have tipped over as one drawer was cracked and a piece of plastic missing. Washer has dents on the front. And the list goes on, some larger issues than others. I am not appreciative of the fact that they did not mention any of these damages, some of which they had to be aware of, especially since before they leave, you sign off that everything is fine - which of course is almost impossible to truly do in one day. As our move was on a Monday, our boys had school the next day and when my son went to get his clothes from his old dresser which was supposed to be in the basement (he got a new one and hadn't moved his clothes over yet), he was unable to find it. It was not in the basement, not in the garage, not in the storage shed. As a last resort I looked outside the basement walkout door and they had left it sitting outside. At least it was wrapped in a shipping pad as it had rained overnight and this managed to keep the wooden dresser from getting completely wet, but again, not happy about that. And as a last thing, after paperwork was done, check was written and they were leaving the neighborhood, they flew out of our driveway with both of their small vans driving way too fast for this rural neighborhood. It was as if they couldn't wait to be done and weren't happy with the move and/or tip (which from my research beforehand was pretty decent sized). Despite being 8 pm, there was no need to drive as dangerously out of the neighborhood as they did. Although they were completely professional in all of their direct interactions with me, I feel that there were numerous unprofessional aspects to this move. Their price was about $800 less than the other mover we were considering, so not a huge amount that would make me say, well, I guess I got what I paid for, but I was disappointed considering the glowing reviews they received from others. I would not use them again for a house move, but might recommend to others for a smaller move or just to move a few items.

Very well movers were professional and thorough.

All wrapped items were unwrapped. Only a two man crew moved me in. It was frigid that day, so they moved everything into the dock area before bringing each piece to my new apartment. Many of the boxes and end tables were put in my den area. I didn't discover until later that an expensive end table and a large artificial potted plant were missing. The plant was found in another part of the building. However, the end table valued at $700 was never found. I was reimbursed only for its weight. Loss such as this would not have happened if they had a bigger crew and made sure the area was supervised. Items should have been numbered with a check list. I would only use this provided again if these two rules were put in place.

The team did an excellent job. Very quick and extremely professional. I would use them again.

Moving ahead services gave us a reasonable quote ahead of time with a minimum cost. They were set expectations clearly. Once they arrived they got right to work. We had them pack up the kitchen and many, many boxes of books. All of which they did without complaining. They were good about taking direction when we needed a specific items packed together, etc. We had a lot of items, and the packing took much longer than anticipated. They did take their time, but that resulted in no breakage. :) They then drove our belongings to our new home (when they arrived we were already past the original assumed completion time). They then spent more time unloading the heavily loaded truck and kept going until it was empty.

Careful movers. The owner quoted the job, emailed info, and they did exactly what they said they would do for the exact price. I added on a stop at my house and it was done for a reasonable fee. This was a totally smooth, enjoyable, professional and honest experience. After reading so many moving horror stories, finding an honest company like this was a relief.
