We couldn't be happier with the floors. Lastly, big shout out to Luanne, his wife, who we worked with to get on Mike's very busy schedule. Thank you!

+ -1 moreI called and spoke to a very nice lady quite a few times, with a promise Mike would call me back. After awhile he did reach out to me, and I explained the job I needed done (1000sq hardwood sand/stain/poly). After I told him the size of my home, it was clear he became disinterested. He told me to 'call back after you finished getting quotes'. I called back a few days later and left messages on the answering machine - no further callback. I needed the job soon and was paying cash, which I gladly gave to another local flooring contractor.

She finally called me back and asked me a few questions, I assumed that we would be setting up a time for Mike to come and look at the project. She explained that No, she would relay my info to Mike and then he would contact me. He NEVER did. Found Leghart Bros, and they did a wonderful job at a great price. Not impressed with Mike Jones's business model!

+ -1 moreTook one week to return my call at which time he advised that he was too busy for new installation jobs and then went on to advise that I probably had fake hardwood in the existing rooms because it was a townhouse. Then mentioned that it was difficult to work in and park at townhouses. Thanks for the insult, I guess. I have a 1900 sq ft townhouse with a two car garage and plenty of parking.. If you are looking for new installation save you time and move on from this company.

They also addressed the gap between the floorboards and floor that was left from removing the carpet. Work was completed over three different days and Mike and team came out exactly when scheduled. Floors look great! Would recommend.

+ 1 moreThe older lady who answers the phone was very nice and said Mike would call me to set up a time for an estimate. She said the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I called twice a week for 6 weeks. Each time the lady promised me that Mike would be calling soon. He never called. If Mike Jones has no intention of calling me then all they have to do is tell me. Stay away from Mike Jones.

+ -1 moreMike and his crew refinished all our hardwoods, 3 rooms downstairs, 4 upstairs, and the upstairs hallway and staircase. They first sanded everything, and replaced a few boards in the dining room and nearly half the master bedroom that had suffered water damage. Then they stained the floors a bit darker than before and applied polyurethane finish. Looks great!

+ -1 moreI needed hardwood flooring repair. He came and saw the work to be done and agreed to have it scheduled. After multiple calls to the office "he'll get back to you" never called to schedule or showed up to do the job. I felt he didn't want to be bothered with a smaller job - if he had mentioned this to me up front or on the phone I would have gladly accepted this and would use for larger jobs in the future. But the lack of response was unacceptable.

+ -1 moreWe are extremely pleased with our floors. Mike worked to match the exsisting floors and new hardwood. They were always here when they said they would be and there was absolutely no dust or mess in the house. Our entire first floor of the house is now hardwood and we couldn't be happier.
Description of Work: Mike Jones refinished our stairs, stripped and refinished our kitchen and entryway, installed hardwood floors in our formal dining room, living room and family room.

+ -1 moreSee above, It was a disaster from start to finish. We would NEVER use Mike Jones floors or recommend them to other people. In fact, when we show our kitchen floor to other people, they always vow to find someone else to do their hardwood floor refinishing. We used another flooring contractor ten years ago when we refinished the bedroom floors upstairs. That contractor was quite professional and we will use him for all our future jobs, if possible. Our contractor uses Mike Jones because he gets a good price. It is not worth it. The worse part of the experience was the rude and unprofessional behavior of the Mike Jones employees.
Description of Work: They were a subcontractor on our kitchen/family room remodel. They tried to skip the second coat of polyurethane and balked at having to come back. Our contractor contacted them and insisted that they finish the job. They showed up unannounced on a day when my husband was recovering from surgery and were extremely rude when we told them to call us in advance to set up a convenient time. They did call the next time. This time, they refused to pull the table out from the breakfast nook ( my contractor had told them to pull it out or turn it upside down and lay it across the benches since we had begun using the kitchen while we were waiting for them to come back). They just poured polyurethane under the table without vacuuming and we have small pieces of trash and the polyurethane formed a puddle next to the leg of the table. It is a disaster! When we have the other floors done on this floor, we will probably have to redo these floors (at substantial expense).

+ 0 moreThey were very professional. We had a few bumps along the way, so the project took longer than expected. But the job was completed and we were happy with the result. I would definitely recommend Mike Jones Flooring and will use them in the future if more work is needed.
Description of Work: Applied additional poly coats to main floor and stairs. Removed carpet in a bedroom and set of stairs and refinished the wood.

+ -1 moreMike Jones came the day I called to get an estimate. My floors had just been done by someone claiming to refinish floors but he ruined the job. Mike came and did a great job and was able to fix the mistakes that had been made. He also took extra time and worked with me to get the color right, even though it meant extra time for him. My floors look GREAT! He does a really neat and clean job and his helpers are very professional and respectful. There was no dust! I would highly reccomend Mike Jones Floor Co.!!!!!

+ -1 moreIt was excellent. They matched the stain perfectly from our dining room floor, so the floor flows from the living room into the dining room. They removed the carpeting and repaired the floor where the carpet tacking strips made marks, then sanded it. Lastly they applied the flooring. There was very minimal dust and dirt that accumulated throughout the process. I'm thinking about calling them again so they'd do our bedroom floor. I'm very satisfied with their service.

They provided a detailed estimate with several price options depending on how we wanted to break the job into phases to accommodate furniture moves. They completed the work exactly according to schedule. There was not one trace of dust in the house and the refinished floors are flawless. Overall the bid may have been slightly higher than competitors, but the quality of work, professionalism and neatness makes their work an outstanding value.

Returned two days after last polyurethane to touch up a couple things and replace furniture. The quote was exactly as charged. Very professional group. Would definitely use them again. Floors look outstanding.
