Punctual, efficient, helpful. Crew worked especially hard, morning until night, to get the roof done in a very short time.

The guys where fantastic. Their attention to detail and desire to do the job right gave me trust in them and their quality. It has been about 6 months through the winter and everything has stood up and still looks perfect. I can't thank the team enough.

Because of rainy summer, we were not here. But Ty and his crew came as soon as possible, stayed in touch, and cleaned up to tha point where it was impossible to tell he had been here.

They could have improved the timeliness of completing the job. They are located in the suburbs of Pittsburgh.

This project was a mixed bag. Had good reviews here, so I had confidence that things were going to go professionally. Initially, things were ok. Fast estimate, good input and insight by the estimator. Scheduling went well. They had an opening in the schedule so on 2 days notice, they moved up the date. That was good. The crew showed up on time and worked efficiently. However, a couple of issues. First (and least of concern) was that the crew chain smoked and left several packs of butts littered around my house. Not life threatening, but not so professional. Second issue was the crew trashed my porch screens when taking down the old siding. If they had said something and fixed it, that would have been ok - things happen. This was not the case. They cleaned up and left. Said nothing. Forcing me to call and complain. To the company's credit, someone came out and fixed the screens (well, kinda, they are falling apart now). They also missed all of the gutters on the back portion of my house. Again, upon my calling, they came out and resolved that. Again, things happen and they addressed it, but the job should have been done right the first time. Now the really irritating part . . . we ordered shutters to complete the job. First we were told they were ordered and they would be in "soon." After waiting a month, we called. Said they would "check on it." Nothing thereafter. Waited several more weeks. Called again. Said they would "check on it." Nothing thereafter. Waited several more weeks. Called again. This cycle was repeated for over 4 months. I gave up trying. Sad because they did decent work. Many good reviews on here, so maybe I'm just "lucky." I'm disappointed with the lack of follow-through. Very frustrating. If they didn't blow the last part of the job, a B grade would have been warranted.

They arrived as scheduled and were respectful of our property and grounds. They were extremely efficient, professional and they completed the work in a timely manner. They followed through to make sure we were satisfied with the work. Not one piece of debris on our property. They cleaned up professionally and left the grounds in perfect order. Don't think about what it costs to have this company. Think about what it may cost you if you don't ! They are the BEST. I would highly recommend them without reservation.

All work was done very well and we are pleased with the results. They worked with us on making adjustments to design and materials that we are quite happy with. The workers were professional and worked very hard. Job lasted about the time they expected even though weather had limited some of their work schedule. The workers had showed up later morning rather than the proposed 8 a.m. but they were travelling from South Hills to North Hills and a couple of days they intentionally delayed since the weather may have prevented them from doing the outside work. We did notice that the wrong siding was being installed after about a half wall was done, they immediately called the office, took that siding off, and the next day the siding we ordered was delivered and they continued the job. After the job was completed it rained and we saw a leak from the new patio roof where it attached to the house, we called and the next day a worker came out and corrected it with no leak now after several days of rain. This was great customer service in my opinion. Cost was very reasonable for all the jobs they did and the work quality.

We rely on Angie's List ratings when selecting companies to perform work on our home. In this instance, our experience was far below our expectations. SUMMARY: Meredith Home Improvement repeatedly did not show up when scheduled and did not call to let us know about schedule changes, leaving us sitting and waiting for nothing. They Repeatedly failed to return phone calls/messages. New gutter was initially installed with an ugly seam when a seamless gutter was expected. Weeks later, a new seamless gutter was finally provided, but not properly installed. DETAILS: Our experience with Meredith Home Improvements (MHI) began in July 2015, when we requested an estimate for replacement of our porch roof and rain gutter. MHI arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and an estimate was quickly provided, which we accepted. The contract we signed stated the work would begin on or about 09/07/15 with a disclaimer, explaining that this date was an approximation and may be affected by factors beyond the control of MHI. We understood that Monday 09/07/15 was a holiday and did not expect work to begin on that date, but we did expect to hear from them sometime that week. After the week had passed without a call from MHI, on the morning of Monday 09/14/15, we called and left a message asking why we had not heard from them and when they would be starting our job. When we did not receive a return call, we left a similar message on the morning of Wednesday 09/16/15. We received a call from MHI later that day, were told that our job would only take about one half day, that the work would begin the following week, and that they would call again on Friday 09/18/15 with the date and time of our job. MHI did call on Friday and told us that someone would be out by mid-day on Wednesday 09/23/15 to complete our job. We were a bit surprised on the morning of Monday 09/21/14, when a large delivery truck arrived, without any notice, to deliver the materials for our job. Then, when no one showed up or called by 3 PM on Wednesday, we called and left a message asking what was going on. We received a return call from MHI, were told that we had been misinformed, and that our job was scheduled to begin the following day, Thursday 09/24/15. When no one showed up or called by 3 PM on Thursday, we called again and left a message asking what was going on. They called us back and told us that one of the company?s trucks had broken down. MHI told us that someone would be out at 8:30 AM on Saturday 09/26/15. We received a call at 9:15 AM on Saturday from MHI explaining they would be arriving within an hour. MHI arrived at our house around 11:30 AM to begin the work. MHI expressed some surprise and disappointment that a dumpster (or soft-sided ?bagster?) had not been previously delivered to our property and there was some concern about what to do with the debris from our old roof. MHI assured us they would take care of it. A bagster was delivered sometime later that day, and our roof and gutter were replaced. MHI placed the bagster with roof debris on our front lawn so that it could be picked up. Upon inspection of the completed work, we pointed out to MHI that the new gutter was made up of two pieces joined by an ugly seam, and that our expectation was for a seamless gutter. MHI explained that this was the best they could do with the material that had been delivered. We called the following Monday, 09/28/15, to discuss the scheduling problems, ask about the seamless gutter, and to find out when the bagster would be picked up. MHI apologized for all the scheduling problems and agreed to have a new seamless gutter installed while having the cost of the gutter subtracted from our bill. MHI told us someone would be out on either Thursday or Friday, 10/08/15 or 10/09/15, to install the seamless gutter, and that the bagster should be picked up within 3- days. We exchanged a few text messages with MHI about the bagster still not being picked up on Friday 10/02/15, and they told us the call for the bagster pickup had been made on Wednesday, 09/30/15. When no one called or came to our home on Thursday 10/08, and the bagster was still sitting on our front lawn, we called and left a message on the morning of Friday 10/09/15. We did not receive a return call, so we called again on the morning of Monday, 10/12/15. MHI said they would get the bagster picked up ASAP and that they would be out on either Thursday or Friday, 10/15/15 or 10/16/15. The bagster was picked up from our front lawn on the morning of Tuesday 10/13/15, leaving a large area of dead grass in front of our house. After another round of no-shows and unreturned calls/messages, we spoke with MHI on Monday 10/20/15. They informed us that someone ?had been let go,? and that someone would be out on Tuesday 10/21/15 to replace the gutter and repair the lawn. They did come out on Tuesday morning, and quickly replaced the gutter and repaired the lawn. However, after they left we inspected the new gutter and saw that the drip edge was wedged behind the gutter near the downspout. We repaired this on our own and are very glad to, hopefully, be done with this company. The new roof looks fine and we can only hope that the quality of the installation is good.

Brad was very professional and arrived in time for the estimate already prepared with dimensions of my roof. He offered very thorough information about the products they would use and the overall process. In the end we chose a different contractor, but would consider Meredith Home Improvements again in the future.

Brad was incredibly thorough when he came out to look at my house, looking at the area from numerous perspectives (going up to the third floor, looking at the house from across the street, the back yard, etc.) He was also very patient in answering all of my questions. He was prompt in providing his estimate, which came in an easy-to-access, user-friendly format over email. It was easy to read and understand from a layperson perspective and gave very detailed information on the products and services that would be provided. Brad was easy to access by phone and responded quickly on the one occasion in which I needed to leave a message. I did not end up using Meredith Home Improvement for the work, simply because another company offered a start date and estimate that worked better for me, but the level of customer service I received from Brad was truly outstanding.

Meredith was very professional about giving us a complete estimate and contract. The roof is aesthetically much improved and no longer leaks during heavy rain. They finished the job early. Their workers were quiet, clean and respectful. We would use them and recommend them again.

*UPDATE 10/15* After the company was made aware of the drip edge not matching the rest of the fascia they reached out immediately in an effort to resolve the issue. Thats about the extend of what went well. From there, Keith (Project Manager) tried numerous times to use colors that just didn?t match the existing fascia. He then proceeded to install a color, without my approval, that does not match. When I spoke with him about it, he mentioned this was the best he could do and that if I wanted it matched any better, he would need to paint it and charge me for it. It was interesting to me given there are numerous houses in my neighborhood with the same color. I found it quite concerning their company would take something off of my house without being sure that they could adequately replace it and without bringing it to my attention it could be possibly be an issue prior to removal. I found it even more concerning that Keith's response to the matter was, sorry, we can't find the right replacement parts so we need to charge you more to finish the job right. I found that to be an interesting business model. Will rip something down, replace it incorrectly, but then charge you if you want it done right. Further, when he was up there replacing the drip edge, he managed to dent whats left of the original fascia in a number of places. Also, I have a whole new host of nails scattered throughout my yard and deck. If he would have taken the time to do one sweep of the area, he would have easily found these nails. Clearly something in this organization isn't working, at least in my case. At this point, I have washed my hands of it and would rather deal with 3 different colors of fascia / drip edge that is riddled with dents and a yard full of nails than have them try to fix this situation again. *UPDATE 9/30* After submitting this review, the company owner (Ty), immediately followed up with me to resolve the remaining issue. They are still working through ordering the right drip edge color and installing it (promised next week), but because they reached out immediately I am upgrading their overall rating to a D. Once the new drip edge is installed and everything looks like it should, I will revisit my overall review again. Angie finally got one wrong. I would not recommend this company. Yes I currently have a new roof over my head that seems to be working properly, but it came along with quite a bit of pain from a quality and customer service perspective. The first issue was that the self proclaimed siding experts who came to do my roof (yes, they sent siding sub-contractor experts to put my roof on) managed to let a rain storm hit with the roof torn off and resulted in internal water damage to my home. The company took care of this repair work, but because I had already made the payment in good faith, it took my pestering them one a daily basis for over a month to get it completely repaired. Also, they managed to use a different color drip edge around my home (white) when all of my gutters and fascia are a tan color. I have been calling and texting the project manager Keith now for well over two months and have yet to receive a reply. I suppose their customer satisfaction guaranteed only allows for one company screw up. Maybe someone at the company will read my issue here and respond? In conclusion, I would not recommend this company to a friend. However, if you do choose to use them (somehow they do have a lot of good reviews), I would make sure whatever it is you have done, you wait to pay them until you are absolutely 100% sure the job was done right and to you liking. I had to learn that lesson the hard way.

These guys are great! We had a larger roof than what the deal allowed for and they gave us a discounted rate on the overage. Also, we planned for wood replacement because it is an older home and when they tore off the existing shingles they were honest when they saw the wood was in good shape and did not replace it saving us over $3000.00. They did the work quickly and promptly. I would absolutely reccomend them!

My old roof was in really bad shape. After a couple of estimates, we went with Meredith Home Improvement because they had great reviews, and they installed very quickly due to the bad condition of our old roof.

Meredith Home Improvement exceeded our expectations from start to finish. They came within a few days to provide an estimate. They were the lowest bidder with a great product and warranty. They completed the job ahead of schedule and When we had questions, they came back promptly to do a thorough walk though with us. Extremely professional! Highly recommend.

Meredith services was only service that could fit me in within a tight time frame. Website and phone services were great. Very responsive and good online tools. Good e-mail communication too. 1900 bucks replaced my gutters (100 linear ft of gutters) and x 4 down spouts and got rid of the old one. Competitor prices were almost exactly the same (called about 8 companies to compare) but they could get me in within 10 days during a season when every other roofer/gutter guy was booked 8 weeks out. Estimate young guy was great and very professional. worker/crew were standard Pittsburgh construction workers. Hard working, little gruff around the edges but well meaning and do good work. Got the job done quickly and looks great. Actually came out quicker then what we originally thought too! Banged out teh whole job in a day and a quick morning at a more then fair price based on the market. Would gladly use them again and recommend. Also did some other siding repair for cheap.

They did very well. They were courteous and prompt. They finished the job in just a couple of days.

The project started out very well. Meredith was able to start on the project two weeks sooner than anticipated (June 29th was the actual start date). The roof was replaced first along with the skylights. The roof and skylights took two days and the team was efficient. The third had a smaller crew come out and install the gutters around the entire house. The project went downhill from there. Pittsburgh has been receiving above average amounts of rainfall and it has been hard to work around. That being said the final crew didn't arrive on the fourth day due to rain. I got a call from the owner Ty that because of the holiday weekend, the following Monday would be when the crew would be back to the house to finish. Except they never showed. While waiting for a crew to show up a problem arose with one of the downspouts. One of the new downspouts goes into a foot of dirt before connecting to its corresponding drainage pipe. While it is not common for downspouts to go under ground it is the way the downspouts were installed when my house was built. When the new downspout was installed a worker let dirt get into the pipe and the next time it rained, water backed up the pipe and up the downspout. I came home in a storm to see water spraying out of a seam in the downspout approximately 4 feet up the side of the house because water had backed up that far. I called the following day ( 3 days from when the fascia crew was supposed to show but didn't) to address the issue with the hope that workers would arrive to not only finish the fascia but address my new problem. I called and left a message with Ty (you have to when working with this company. No one picks up the phone right away no matter what) and didn't get a call back until the following day from the project manager. The project manager called July 9th apologizing that no one had called over the past week to inform me about scheduling. He said there was miscommunication and it slipped between the cracks. Im so thrilled my $18000 project slipped between the cracks. He said the fascia crew would be out the following Monday (July 13th) to finish. He said he would be out with them to repair the downspout by installing a section of pipe to bring the drainage pipe to ground level and cut the downspout to fit after he would clear the blocked pipe. The crew did not show on Monday even though the weather was fine until evening. The fascia team then arrived the following day but with no project manager and they were completely unaware of the issue with the downspout. I had been sent an email that morning that final bill would be due when they finished work. I called Brad in sales who did the estimate as well as who sent me a bill saying that I am concerned about paying for a completed project when there is a serious problem that was caused by one of the company's contractors. His response was that he must insist upon full payment immediately because the company has invested A LOT into the project. Brad said he would look into the problem immediately with Ty to make sure it is resolved. The last time I checked I was the home owner that invested my money into this project as well as the trust that this company would deliver on the their sales pitch. Meredith Home Improvement has come up short and to date I have not received a responses that they are going to fix their mistake. I did have to call 3 times in order to get the necessary repair completed but the project was successfully completed on 7/20. This company is good to work with because they not only know what they are doing but how to customize it to an individual home. While they could improve their communication, they do good work and are professional during all interactions.

Absolutely positive experience. Would recommend.

I can't believe I have waited to so long review! I intended to do this immediately after. The project could not have gone better. Brad from Meredith with fantastic through the bidding process and was a great communicator. The work done was quick and seems to be of a high quality. I was very pleased with the project from start to finish, even now a year later. Will use again and highly recommended!

The quotation period and Installation period was excellent. Installation crew was extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent workmanship. They paid particular attention to quality and the details making this project over the top for me. Great experience. Only one problem and that was the communication between the production manager and I - there was none! However, Meredith Home Improvements management quickly resolved this issue and the rest was smooth sailing. Ask for Ralph to install your project.

.The estimate was very high and I asked about using one of the Angie's list deals. I was told our roof was too big at 22sq. However, having had several estimates done, where people measure onsite, I knew my roof to be significantly smaller. When I asked them to come measure, I was told they used a satellite image of my house and it was more accurate. I don't know in what universe a picture is more accurate than two people measuring. After all their sales pitches on why their shingle is the best and all the warranties etc, we were just left with a bad taste in our mouths. I don't know any contractor who would come out and measure a roof and short themselves on materials and labor so I trust the contractors who show our roof at 15.5sq.

We are extremely pleased with the work provided by Meredith. The crew was prompt, courteous and professional. They answered our questions and responded to all of our concerns in a professional manner. The crew arrived when they said they would. They kept a clean work area. The house looks great, and we would absolutely use Meredith again and recommend them to our friends and neighbors. The price very good compared to the other estimate that we received.

They were absolutely fantastic. They showed up and did all of the work in 1 day in December. I was very impressed with them.

The cost of the estimate was about $12900. Everything was good and they are putting in the new porch today. They will be doing the roof and gutters as well. So far I've only met one worker, Brad, and he's good. He's been really spontaneous. He was really prompt and he's getting the porch ready to fix it up.
