Anthony worked on our kitchen last fall and completed the work over the winter time. Detailing every issue that went on through this project would be very labor intensive, so I will hit the high points. Anthony took many short cuts on our project and less than a year later, a kitchen we spent 50k on flooded because he used a plastic water line vs a copper or stainless steel water line. He was questioned during this process if copper was better, and he and his plumber assured us as to why plastic was a better product. Given our project was a complete gut job and there were so many moving parts, we trusted them. At this point, we have to replace half our kitchen again, the entire first floor hardwoods and the garage ceiling, among other issues. We have small children and have to endure being without a kitchen, again, not to mention the headache of an insurance claim. This was not the only issue we are having with the kitchen - there are several other areas in the kitchen that are poorly constructed and will need to be fixed. For example, we have an uneven countertop that resulted from improper installation of the cabinets underneath. He did not show up when the granite company was templating and installing the counter. The granite company pushed back on his placement of the cabinets, saying it was in the wrong place, but Anthony fought us on this, and refused to move the divider. The granite company was forced to put in shims in order to make the countertop fit, and it is now very uneven, something that is apparent to everyone who walks in the kitchen. Anthony was very defensive when we questioned the way the work was going, or why he was doing something a certain way. Anthony often sent his workers and would not show up on the project for days, forcing his workers to make decisions in his absence. Anthony did not want to create a contract detailing what was included in the project and a timetable, but we insisted. He did finally put together a rough contract, but it did not include every detail or process step needed to complete the work. He assured us that he would deal with all the issues that came up as we went along (assuming they were not game changers), and that we did not need to include every small step needed to complete the project. However, when things inevitably came up, he refused to do the extra work without us providing more money, which we did, to move the project along and because at that point, we were too far into the project financially to let him go. For example, he was to paint a door from the kitchen to an adjoining room and he only painted one side of the door. He refused to paint both sides of the door. Again, these are just some of the issues we encountered - there were many, many more. At the end of the day, we thought we were saving some money by hiring a contractor who would execute the work, and we would take care of buying the materials, designing the room, communicating with other subs (such as the granite company, cabinet company, etc). This saving overall is causing us more pain in the end, as we will have to pony up the deductible as well as money to pay to fix items not related to the flood (eg, he refused to stain the trim of the window he installed to match the cabinets; we have to strip and repaint the brand new patio door because he got the color wrong three times and it is now chipping profusely, etc). Please note the price above is for labor only - the total cost cited in this review (50k+) includes labor and materials. I hesitated to provide this review, as I simply want to put this all behind us. However, I feel obligated to provide this review now that the flood has occurred - I would like to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. We have had other contractors in to help us out with fixing this issue and they have pointed out item after item that was not done properly by Anthony and his team.

Anthony and his guys did a great job! He was very responsive and always let us know when he was coming and what was going on. They were flexible, courteous, and obviously know what they are doing-Our floors and walls look great! we'll definitely call them again in the future.

Very good- no surprises, very punctual, no delays and kept to his word. Also included a few extras, very nice guy and down to earth.

Anthony fixed the floor by taking it up and making room for expansion. It was a labor intensive job but he and his employees got it done in one day. He identified the problem and got the job done. My house was clean and put back together when they were finished. I am very happy with the work and professionalism.

Not good. He was a no call no show. I will not be using McCann Home Improvement for any project in the future.

Anthony promptly came to do the initial visit and was able to give us a quote during that visit. We got many quotes and Anthony's was one of the first one we got but that's the one we decided to go with as he seemed very trustworthy and responsive to our concerns. The work needed to be done on a very short notice (we picked Anthony less than one month from the date when we needed the work done], he committed to doing it quickly and was done ahead of the promised completion date. His guys were at our house almost every day and were very professional. They helped us with the choice of grout and caulking to make sure the tile looked its best, even though we accidentally picked tiles that weren't all the exact same size. Also our floor was very uneven so his guys worked very hard to make it even. It looks great now and so does the tile. The drywall and paint over it also looks great. Our basement looks much better than before and it's now pleasant to use it as a living room.

Anthony called me back promptly and was punctual at all times. I was impressed with approach where he suggested other repairs he could make to improve the look of the finished job. His crew was likewise professional and did excellent work with a fine attention to detail. Each day they cleaned up the site before leaving. i would not hesitate to use him again.

Anthony and his team were outstanding! I found Anthony on Angie's list. I was a little hesitant to move forward as I had never used the service, but I am so glad that I did. Anthony and team exceeded all of my expectations. From the first time I called, Anthony was prompt and responsive. He was at my home within 24 hours to give me an on the spot estimate. He promised he would be able to start on the deck within two weeks, and then he actually started even earlier! I left for work on a Monday morning with an old dilapidated deck, and by that Friday afternoon was drinking a margarita on my new awesome deck. Anthony and team arrived early- by 8 am every day- and stayed until 7 pm each night to keep progressing. He called me when he needed to--to discuss items like permits, etc...--and handled everything else without much need for me to worry about it while at work. In sum, Anthony and his team quoted me on my deck and built it in less time than it took a competitor to call me back and get me a written quote. I am so pleased with the result, and am sure if you call them you will be too. The deck is sturdy and beautiful, and Anthony even put in custom planter boxes for me. If you are looking for a contractor who wants your business, and is willing to work hard and deliver a quality product in a short time and within your budget, Anthony is your guy. He and his team made the process so easy on me and my family, and we are looking forward to enjoying cookouts on our deck this summer. I would absolutely recommend McCann Home Improvements!

Good. The siding that needed repair was at a very high height and it was fixed no problem.

Anthony and his team exceeded our expectations. They were extremely professional and did a wonderful job. They completed the project in a mere three days, and did so with the utmost quality and care. It is evident that they take pride in the work that they do and customer satisfaction is at the top of their list. We will absolutely contact them to do more work in the future.

The work was completed professionally and in a timely manner. Throughout the process, Tony provided excellent communication and also patience when I had a delay in delivery of some of the laminate. I plan on hiring to do more work later this year. Also, I have an old house with a pentagon shaped dining room that required some very difficult cuts to make the flooring fit.

Our second experience with McCann Home Improvement was as satisfying as our first. The work was done in a timely manner, at a reasonable price, with close attention to detail. We are very pleased with the result!

Excellent! Anthony contacted us the same day as we emailed him. He came later in the day to give us an estimate. We approved a contract with him the following day and paid a cash deposit. They were to start in about two wks but he called and they had a few days and were able to start earlier. They began the work on Wednesday morning and finished Friday at noon. Anthony and Dino were very efficient, friendly yet professional, and meticulous. They did an excellent job and we are very pleased with their work. It was quite a dirty job but they were always cleaning up after themselves. The floor installation looks great and the cost of their services included the installation of new baseboards. My husband and I would highly recommend this company.

The job was done professionally and Anthony kept in frequent communication with me. He went above and beyond with taking on additional work that was requested. He left everything neat and hauled away all the debris. I would highly recommend this company.

When I call Anthony , he responded immediately. He is very polite and caring, as well as his workers. He listen to my ideas, gave me also some good ones and when it was time to sign the contract he explained everything very clear. Once they got started on the project, they did not waist any time. They worked hard all they and did a wonderful job with my basement in a very timely manner . Good job quality, very knowledgeable and very professional. I will recommend him and hire him again.

He was responsive to calls and texts, arrived when he said he would and completed the job in the time he said it would take. The crawl space job was a strange one, with no clear "correct" way to fix it, and he and his men did a great job, making the finished product look very nice.

I had to replace a 2nd story deck in order for the bank to appraise our home enough for sale. McCann was amazingly responsive, and was able to work with me to get the project done in the very short amount of time I had. The deck is beautifully constructed, the attention to detail is fantastic. Went above and beyond to make it a beautifully crafted deck. I highly recommend using McCann Home Improvement, I had a great experience.

Anthony was great to work with. I was on a time crunch because the deck needed to be replaced before I would close on the home. He was able to work with me on scheduling and timing and get it done in the short amount of time that I had. He was able to salvage some of the existing deck supports, and replace the rest. I'm more than satisfied with the results and impressed with the quality of his work. It's not just a boring old deck, it has architectural design elements to it and adds beauty and interest to the back of my home.

Anthony has high standards for the work that he does and put in extra effort (and hours) to get our job done, especially when unforeseen complications arose. He is clearly trying to establish a long-term relationship with his clients and checked in with us frequently to make sure that we were happy. We felt comfortable having Anthony in our home and he went to extra lengths to be kind to our dog and young child who were both nervous about having a stranger in the house. We have already scheduled Anthony for another project and can't wait to work with him again!

It went GREAT! I have a small bathroom in an 100 year old house. This was the first big job we've done. I had visions of what I wanted and Anthony guided me through the process to make it happen. Anthony's ultimate goal was to make to me happy with the final product. Anthony and his team are meticulous in their work and he wants everything PERFECT! The attention to detail in the custom subway tile is amazing and we now have a custom, functional, beautiful bathroom. Another other thing I'd like to mention is character. Remodel fell during our family vacation time and I had NO problem with Anthony and his team being in our house while we were away. And finally, I have an almost 80 year old father who is a retired contractor. Anthony and his team were patient and respectful, even though I KNOW my dad delayed their progress at first. Needless to say my dad stopped coming by b/c he knew he no longer needed to supervise! Thanks again Anthony!

Estimate Request: I sent the request and 2 hours later I received a call from Anthony to schedule an appointment which was within 5 days. Work: Anthony and his team was professional and courtesy throughout the job. Anthony wanted to know “are you happy, do you have any concerns or issues” during the whole job. He build a custom solution for ours stairs and door when the our plan wasn’t feasible. Cost: We got a quality job/ solution for a great price. I would recommend for you to use Anthony McCann because I definitely will be all upcoming work. Thanks Anthony Great Job !!

Very well. Anthony and his workers were on time and finished a day early. They were always prompt in arriving when they said they would.

Everything was done quickly, efficiently and with detail to the quality of the work. All jobs were finished within 2 weeks of signing the contract which I thought was wonderful considering how much painting (walls, trim work and all sub floors) that had to be completed. I do not hesitate to recommend Anthony; he does the majority of the work himself which means the quality is there. He is responsive to phone calls and texts and checks in frequently to assure your happiness. He met my needs for everything I was looking for in a contractor. His prices were reasonable and I feel I got excellent quality for my money. Anthony repaired a hole in the kitchen ceiling and did a fantastic job. If I did not know the location, I doubt I would be able to pick out the patched area. The house painting that was completed by one of Anthony's contracted assistants is outstanding! Great attention to detail, clean lines, perfect coverage. Anthony stopped by almost everyday to be sure the paint job was progressing and that I was happy with the job - he was very attentive with checking my reaction to all the work. I also had the subfloors painted with a primer to lock out odors since we are getting all new flooring. Anthony researched with Sherwin Williams to find the best product for the job. He knew that I was concerned about the strong paint fume odors because of my pets. The primer he settled on and supplied did the job wonderfully and it did not have the terrible odor that I was concerned about. A+ Anthony on taking my concerns into account - some contractors would not have worried about it, but Anthony listened to what I said and worked to find the correct solution. He installed new closet doors in my spare bedroom which involved cutting the doors to make them fit and work properly in my old house where all the openings are custom-sized. The doors look wonderful and most importantly open and close the way a door should (old closet doors would not work properly). Again, Anthony took the time to make sure the job was done correctly. He also patched some broken ceramic floor tiles in my basement laundry room area that had been installed poorly originally. It was a tough project as they had to fit in with the tiles that were already there - he did a fantastic job. Anthony also replaced some receptacles, replaced a piece of roof trim and installed a pet door for me. I recommend Anthony and I am very pleased that I found him on Angie's List and called. I will most certainly use him for future remodeling jobs at my house. EXCELLENT WORK ANTHONY, THANK YOU!!

Everything went as planned. The end result turned out even better than expected. The materials used were a significant upgrade over our previous deck. Anthony had a couple great ideas after we started the job that really helped deliver the results we were looking for. Overall, Anthony has very good attention to detail and only wants you to be 100% satisfied with the end results. I would not hesitate to call or recommend McCann Home Improvements.
