Al was very helpful in bringing a neglected brick building back up to snuff. there was need for extensive repointing at building corners, chimneys and at various points on the front facade. Despite winter weather that required a bit of stopping and starting (some very cold spells not conducive to mortar work) Al was able to complete the job and kept me informed of the progress throughout. Lardo Construction provided a very reasonable, competitive estimate and then skillfully completed the chimney repairs on a very steep, pitched roof on my 3-story Victorian home. They were very knowledgeable of masonry repair, were prompt and were friendly. They also made sure to clean up after their work, which I have had other contractors who did not follow through with those final details. I would definitely recommend their services to others.

We just happened to notice one day that a few bricks were slightly out of place at one corner of the chimney and a crack was visible through the mortar extending for a couple rows below them. Mr. Lardo came out the day after we called and took a look at the situation. He offered what we considered to be a reasonable estimate and said he could do the work just a couple days later. He came promptly when he said he would. The work was completed in one day..

Excellent work by Al. I must point out it was difficult finding him. I first tried calling four or five companies on Angie's list, who over the phone gave me outrageously high prices (from $1500 for a chimney liner and up). Since I didn't believe what I was hearing, I went to the yellow pages. Because it was an emergency, and a number of unhappy tenants had no hot water, I took the first guy I thought was reasonable. Al called me back the same day I called, but later than the first one, who was not able to fix the chimney and told me to put in three hot water heaters. Al started about a day after I called him, he and his folks worked on Sunday, and finished Monday. I found it unbelievable to have a contractor work so quickly. He is very knowledgeable and did the work for what I believe to be very cost effective. Not only that, but I felt he didn't "rip me off," as all the work was done on an emergency basis and based on verbals. Highly recommend him.
