I needed to move about 500 cubic feet of random stuff (boxes, shelves, sporting equipment, etc) from my basement to a storage garage. 3 guys and a truck showed up at my house when they said they would. Their foreman, was courteous and professional. They quickly yet carefully packed everything into their truck and similarly unloaded everything once at the storage garage. The total time was about 3 hours from start to finish and the price was reasonable. I will certainly use them again.

A woman came out to provide an estimate and it was emailed to us quickly. We were quoted a price of $1619.40 for the service. The movers came on 11/24/13 and were punctual. The gentleman in charge was polite and the crew were very protective of our belongings. We were quoted a price of 4 workers and all arrived with 2 trucks. We were told by the women that it would be estimated that it would take 4 hours to put the boxes on truck, take apart furniture, and load it on truck. It ended up taking about 7 hours. While the staff was kind, and it was the first cold day of the year (about 20 degrees), this was not what we expected for a four bedroom house with everything boxed up. Onfe of the workers broke our exterior light and there was an attempt to fix it by putting a twig in it to hold it in place. Our closing was in 2 days and had no time to replace it. We ended up giving the new owner $50 and the company refused to pay for it. On 11/17/13, the team arrived on time to move in the belongings to our new home. At this time, there were initially 6 men on staff. Again the crew was polite; however the gentleman in charge frequently argued with one of the crew members. They did put furniture where requested. I was unhappy that they did not take time to remove legs from a kitchen table which we wanted in basement but because they did not take legs off, we had to put in our garage. I was also unhappy that the 2 men left after unloading the first truck, knowing that it took them so long 3 days earlier. It took the crew approximately 5 hours to do the job; however, I ended up helping them take boxes off the truck myself and carrying them into the basement and other rooms. Overall, I am upset about the price. We ended up paying about $2300, much more than the $1619.40 quoted. My wife was told that if the end price was more than 10% of the quoted price, we could pay the quoted price that day and then pay the balance later. Anthony, the person who resumed responsibility after the other two workers left, did not appear to know anything about this. When we called about the price difference, I was told that there was "more furniture to take apart and put back together" than expected, which is strange since our original estimate should have considered this since the women came out and reviewed everything with us. I was also told that "we added extra guys to your job and did not charge you the weekend rate." Well, the extra guys did not work the entire job and were never told that there was a "weekend rate." Overall, the crew was fine. I am not happy with the discrepancy between the quoted price and actual price and the lack of professionalism with the office when discussing this. I would not refer this company again.

Other moving companies wanted over a thousand dollars, Kissel was cheap and quick. One of the movers made a comment about his dog that disturbed me, telling us how he fed it raw meat and was "training it." As dog lovers, we found this a bit disturbing. Otherwise, the experience wasn't that painful, no more than moving already is.

Fantastic!
Description of Work: The guys were amazing. My blind daughter was moving into her first apartment and we had items and furniture for her scattered over 3 separate locations. The guys were cortious, efficient, and receptive to my daughter's special situation. They did a remarkable job with a rather complicated move. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were.

These guys were fantastic. Family-owned business and it shows. I have used them for 2 moves personally and they moved my Mother into her new home. In our most recent move they were responsible, respectful and reliable. They could not guarantee the safety of my flat panel tv and were honest about it which I appreciated. They were respectful of our newly refinished hardwood floors in our home. They charged us on an hourly basis and were efficient with their time and kind on my wallet. Not a single item was broken or lost in the move!!! I think what impressed me the most was in the first experience I had with them when they moved me out of my first apartment. I had an old chest that was falling apart and really had no business making the move but had a certain sentimental value. While they couldn't promise that it would make it, they put bungees and giant rubber bands around it to move it. It came through just fine thanks to their efforts. Again, they were responsible, respectful, and reliable.
Description of Work: Moved us from our three level townhouse to a two story home with a stop at a storage locker in between.

TERRIBLE. THEY WERE UNPROFESSIONAL & DID NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICES THEY WERE CONTRACTED TO PROVIDE. THEY LEFT ABOUT 1/4 OF OUR BELONGINGS BEHIND WITHOUT TELLING US. WHEN WE REALIZED THAT EVENING THAT MANY OF OUR ITEMS WERE MISSING, THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO MOVE THEM FOR US BEFORE THE NEW TENANTS WERE TAKING POSSESSION. WE WERE FORCED TO STAY UP ALL NIGHT MOVING THE REST OF OUR BELONGINGS OURSELVES. LUCKILY IT WAS A LOCAL MOVE. IN ADDITION THEY LEFT THE DOOR WIDE OPEN AT OUR OLD HOUSE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS 25 DEGREES OUTSIDE. WE DIDN'T DISCOVER THIS UNTIL LATE IN THE EVENING WHEN WE WENT BACK TO COLLECT OUR BELONGINGS. THEY ALSO BILLED US FOR 30 MINUTES MORE THAN THEY ACTUALLY WORKED.
Description of Work: A CREW MOVED OUR BELONGINGS FROM OUR OLD HOUSE TO OUR NEW HOUSE.
