J.P. May Construction and Remodeling

It was a Big Deal purchase. It went fine. They did not charge me anything extra. Their responsiveness was good.

I made multiple attempts to contact the provider and they were unresponsive. I chose to seek a refund from Angie's List.

I called them after I paid for the big deal and they said they would call back in July. They never did. I tried several times to contact them but no response from them. I had to call Angies list to request a refund.

The experience was very good. They were prompt and they did a nice job. They did what they said they would and I have no complaints. They also did not make any mess. They did some gutter repairs. They were thorough and professional; they got the job done in a timely manner and I had no problems with them. The workers were professional, polite and very knowledgeable.

I had one company that was on your list, and if you might ask me who, I'm not going to remember right now. They charge me $90 to do gutter work. I pay upfront and they were to do like a section and they never showed up. And, I called them, and called them, and called them and they wouldn't answer the phone. They are on your list and in fact I had put in a note at that time that they had not showed up yet. Like the time span had not run out at that point, but it certainly has since then and they never showed up and the only time he answered the phone was when I left a message and I said, "I couldn't believe it I had more work to do". He answered back and then when I reminded him he was pretty sly and hiding from me. And, then he said, "Oh yeah, I'll be up tomorrow". And, he never showed up. JP May Construction called in the beginning and he said, "We're still getting to work for next month or something". And, he is going to get back to me and let me know when they are going to do it. And then he never got back, so I called him. And then they started. I would wait a couple of weeks and call again and wait a couple of weeks and call and then he just would never come back and finally the time for it expired. And, I figured, he wouldn't be coming back then. At this point would be, the time ran out and, garbage like that. And, a lot of time he wouldn't answer the phone, he had the machine that answered the phone, and I guess there is someone that said who you were and he knew that that was one of the people that had this gutter work he wasn't interested.

The owner had good communications skills and seemed very knowledgeable about floor refinishing and wood in general.

Purchased roof inspection/maintenance through Angies List. Contractor performed service and gave me a verbal report but failed to provide the written report with pictures that was promised, dispite two phone calls to the provider.

Contractor never attempted to doing the work , past the repeated lying to the contrary.

Was never able to make contact other than leaving messages. JP May never came and thus did nothing but take my money.

They never responded after purchasing the coupon. I made several calls directly to them and received no response. It does amaze me that they did not respond at all.

Bought an Angie's list deal... Business has not gotten back to me after months of attempts to call... Voice mail bi always full... Disappointed that Angie's list would allow this vender to advertise deal

After contacting him twice, he never got back to me. I neither received services nor got my money back. I waited too late to cancel the order after he did not respond.

We were contacted within a reasonable amount of time and told that unless we were having a problem they didn't want to go on the roof until the weather broke. We were told to call them back if we had a current roof issue or they would call back to schedule when the weather broke. We weren't having an issue at the time and had purchased the deal for preventative maintenance. We felt that waiting was perfectly reasonable. We were never contacted again and when we tried to call the voicemail was full and no longer receiving messages. There was also no response to attempted email contact to either receive service or a refund.

I purchased a deal for $99 for 50' of gutter guard but after calling twice with no reply I called a third time and he was on a rough and asked me to email him my number, which I did and a month later no call back. I was going to email and call again, but I realized that the ratings for JP May were sliding and he was blowing off a lot of people. As such, I just decided to have the $99 refunded to me.

Never returned my calls, prepaid work never done and $150.00 never refunded.

I tried multiple times to contact JP May. Spoke to JP May once. He said he was on a job and could not take my information. He told me to call back and leave a message. I called several times. Left messages, etc., but never got a call back to schedule service. Very disappointed.

I called him 3 times. He never replied. I contacted Angie's List and they gave me a refund.

Company took my money and dodged my requests for service. I lost $149 and now have damage to my house since the roof problem was not detected.

They never reached out to me. I tried contacting them and never heard back. I had to refund my big deal that I had purchased because they were unresponsive.

The time is running out! This is for the special on 50ft. Alcoa Premium Mastic Alum. Mesh Gutter Protection. Work is not done.

I bought $600 of gutter guards that were supposed to be installed on an Angie's List "big deal" from this man. I have left numerous phone messages and sent several emails, but he has not responded to me. I purchased this in May and it is now September. He has stolen $600 from me, and I would like resolution.

Only response from J.P. May Construction and Remodeling came in response to my purchase of two Big Deal Coupons. An email response I received the day of purchase said, "Thank you for purchasing the ... Big Deal. I will contact you to set up a time and day to look at your project Thank You, James P. May JP May Construction and Remodeling." I waited and was never contacted by James May. I began emailing and each week, received no response. My last attempt to reach the service provider was yesterday via phone. Still no communication from him. Today I contacted Angie's List and submited a request for a refund. This was a complete frustration, waste of time and tied up my money.

J.P. contacted me back in January when I bought the roof maintenance coupon to say he'd call back when the weather was warmer to provide service. He never got back to me. I called him, then, between April and July at least a dozen times and left many messages on his phone. No response. Thus, the money I paid for the coupon was completely wasted--$149 out the window. This, my second experience with an Angie's List coupon, is worse than the first, and I will never buy another one again. I want my money back for this service, for my Angie's List subscription, and an apology!

Similar to many people here I bought an Angie's List deal that J. P. May refused to honor by dodging phone calls and emails over a matter of months. Very poor and unprofessional business practice.

JP May has scammed me and by the look of it, numerous others on Angie's list. We connected once on the phone in early spring, and he told me that he would follow up with me to schedule an appointment within two weeks time. Then... nothing. I want my money back, but seeing that he defaulted on his payment to Angie's List for advertising, I can only assume that won't be happening. I am calling my credit card company to have the charges reversed, wish me luck.
