Today, John Scott informed me that he was quitting even though I had been a loyal customer for over two years. He waited until I paid him extra money, telling him I was giving him extra money to credit to his next visit because I didn't have change for the $20. He then rudely informed me that he was overworked and was working 7 days a week and therefore, he was going to have to cut down on his customers and that he was only going to keep the yards where he could use his riding mower and not have to do the push mower or weed whacking. I told him I was shocked to hear this and why would he dump me as a customer - I have a small, easy to do yard and pay him well. I reminded him that I even referred three new customers to him and that had he told me he was very grateful for the additional customers and income but now he claimed that he had to 'look out for himself and was just too tired and overworked' and that he would refer me to a friend of his. I told him not to bother and shut the door on him. I was really upset because now it will be most difficult for me to find a new yard maintenance worker with this being July. My husband is a senior citizen and I have MS so there is just no way we can physically do our yard ourselves. Also, my neighbor friend is 78 years old - I referred Johnnie's Yard Service to her and now she is without a yard maintenance worker so we are both stuck in a mess because of Mr. John Scott. Mr. Scott is extremely arrogant and unreliable. I would not recommend anyone use his services after this mess he has created for me. I am very unhappy and hope that nobody else ends up in this sort of unsettling situation!
Description of Work: John Scott and his father were my yard maintenance workers for several years. They cut our grass using a push mower, used the leaf blower to make the grass clippings 'disappear' and only if requested they would use the weed whacker (they didn't like doing 'detail work' and but did it) . I always paid them extra for the weeds or if they had anything outside of cutting the grass to perform. Their work was 'acceptable' until today which was quite a shocking situation considering it's the middle of summer and I'm going to have trouble finding a new yard worker!
