Jim Wadding Washer & Dryer Repair

Mr. Wadding was wonderful to work with. I called him based on recommendations on Angie's List. He returned my call within hours and scheduled to come look at my washing machine the next evening. He determined that the motor was not working and made sure I understood the issue and agreed with his conclusion. He offered to find out what a new motor would cost to help us determine if we repaired or replaced the machine. He called the next morning with the price. He did not try to pursuade us one way or the other regarding repair / replacment. As the part was about $150, we decided to have the repair done. He came the next afternoon (a Saturday) and completed the repair. He charged us for the part and $75 total for both trips to the house. He was very personable and knowlegeable and even allowed our kids to "help" a bit. Should we have an issue with the washing machine or the dryer in the future, we will call Mr. Wadding!

Has given us no problems since the fix (~ 4 months ago).

He returned my call promptly and was able to schedule a visit for that evening. He arrived promptly and fixed the problem at a minimal cost. Very friendly and courteous.

Contacted Jim for service to my one year old dryer. I left a message and he returned the call in timely manner. He showed up at stated day and time, and quickly fixed problem which was more of a reset and didn't require any parts. He performed some preventive maintenance and gave some suggestions to elongate dryer's life span.

Our dryer was broken. Jim was not able to find a time that he could come out due to being called out of town, so he referred us to another provider who fixed the dryer.

Fantastic. I called Jim late Tuesday afternoon and left a message; he returned my call later that day, and I explained the problem to him, including the brand of our machine. He was able to see us the following evening, and arrived early for the appointment. He brought all the tools he needed, and after inspecting the machine determined what the problem was. He removed the offending part and showed me how it had become stripped over time. He got the necessary replacement part from his vehicle. He uses quality parts approved by the manufacturer because he doesn't want us to have any part-related problems down the road. He also explained how we might prolong the life of our machine by not overloading, and so on. After installing the part, he checked its function on a couple of different settings, and it worked fine. After he left I had a number of loads of laundry to do, and sure enough, the machine ran more smoothly and quietly than it had over the past year. Success! Professional, friendly, skilled - a great repairman whom I'd be happy to use again and strongly recommend.

Left a message for Jim and he called back within 2 hours and set an appointment for later that evening. Dryer would not heat, Jim quickly diagnosed the issue as a bad coil set. He explained how it works and why it most likely failed. Great job done in less than a hour. Very pleased with the service, responsiveness and price. He also gave some good dryer advice on how to extend the life of the unit, do's and don'ts of dryers. Great service

Service went very well. I have three boys, so I can't afford to be without a dryer. To save time, I went right to Angie's List and found Jim Wadding. His reviews were all positive and his prices seemed lower. I called on a Tuesday afternoon and he was able to come out by Wednesday evening. He arrived on time and my dryer was fixed that night. Very happy with my choice and I would use him again!

He came, diagnosed the problem as a failed clutch, and made the repair for ~$140. I give him a low rank for professionalism, however, because he was clearly and aggressively encouraging my wife to pay with cash for a discount (so that he could have under-the-table income and not pay taxes). I know this is a common practice, but I tend to distrust people who show these sorts of flaws in integrity.

They came here to check on our dryer which was not heating anymore. He said he is not familiar with the damage and so he recommended somebody to do the repair. He did not charge me for anything and the person he recommended was able to fix our dryer quickly.

I have used him several times before. He is reasonably priced. He is extremely punctual, and many times he shows up early. I would use this provider again, if needed.

Our top-loading dryer stopped agitating. I noticed my clothes were soaking wet, so tried out the spin cycle and the motor ran, but the center column didn't spin. I called him Monday and he came out Wednesday evening about 10 minutes before the scheduled time. He came in, diagnosed the problem immediately (a broken link between the agitator and motor - can't remember the name of the part) and had it fixed in 15 minutes. He said this was a common repair and the part is meant to break to spare the motor when a load is too large and puts strain on the column. He was professional, punctual, and very efficient. I'd definitely call on him again.

I Called Mr. Wadding at 7:00 pm. when our Gas dryer stopped working. He came out the next evening and within 30 minutes had the Dryer working perfectly. He was professional and even gave me some tips on how to make sure that I didn't have the same problem in the future. On top of the excellent service his price was very reasonable.

Jim arrived on time and replaced the belt within 15 minutes. He checked the vent for clogs and explained how bad dryer sheets are for dryer screens/filters because they clog up after awhile. He was professional and courteous. Would definitely hire again.

He is a wonderful person. He is very honest. He arrived on time. He gave me a quote and stuck to it. He was able to diagnose the problem very quickly and repaired it with no issue. I will definitely call him again.

Great experience. I called on a Monday and he came that same day after my work- which was perfect for me! I had clogged sinks that the laundry water drained into. Everytime the water went down a little- I would turn on the machine to try to finish the rinse cycle and get the water out of the machine to finish the load. I had the sinks unclogged and then discovered that my washer wasn't working! It would only do the final spin and would not allow me to start at the beginning of the cycle. I am guessing that my turning the machine on and off got something out of whack. Was relieved that I didnt have to replace the whole computer panel. Jim was very pleasant- very professional- and seriously knows what he is doing. (turns out he grew up his whole life fixing washers and dryers with his Dad) I could also say that he is honest. Someone else very easily could have told me that I had a lot more to fix than there was- and I would have believed them. Not sure what he did- but it worked! And it was a very reasonable price.

This is the second time we called Jim. We have a low end GE washer where Jim repaired the pump 4 months ago. Now the motor is going so we called Jim again. Like before he arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem after a short inspection. He said we needed a new motor and he would look into its cost. Later that day he called and said the motor would be over 200.00 and we would be better off just replacing the entire washer. Jim knows his business and I'm going to go with his recommendation.

We were really pleased with him. All he does is washers and dryers and I think he does this as a side job. He is basically close to the area where we live. He is very good.
