Jim Wadding Washer & Dryer Repair

His service was excellent. He did a great job. He told me he would be there at at certain time and he was. The service call did not take that long. The service call expense was not that much. I was pleased.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the service. He was very competent, efficient, courteous and knowledgeable.

We have used their services a couple of times and the last repair job was the third time. Jim is great and he has replaced a sort of computer chip in the dryer in the past. He had also attempted to fix a washer, but was unable to do so. However, he is very responsive. He comes in the evening which is very convenient. He is very honest about what he can and cannot do. He came to our house about 3 or 4 times to try to fix our washing machine. He refused to take any money and spent a lot of time to fix it. He gave us back all the money that we had paid him to come out and fix the parts when he ultimately couldn't fix the problem. He took the parts back and recommended us to get a new washer which was fine with us. He is a very responsible person and is incredible too. If need be, then I would definitely hire him again in the future.

I phoned Mr. Wadding in the early afternoon after I realized that my dryer drum was not spinning. I left a message and he returned my call about half an hour later. He said he would show up between 7:00 and 7:30 that evening and he did. He performed the job quickly, neatly and courteously.

Dryer broke - found Jim on Angieslist and called him during the day. He called me back later that day and arrived promptly around 6:30 that evening. Fixed the problem quickly and explained everything as he went along. Trustworthy guy!

After having several repairmen fail to show up as scheduled (or at all), Jim was a great find. The experience was a pleasure from beginning to end. He came in the evening so I didn't have to miss work, immediately identified the problem and fixed it, even vacuumed lint out of the dryer while it was apart and taught me some tips to keep my older washer and dryer running longer. I highly recommend Jim.

I called Jim around noon and he was able to be there around 7pm that night. I showed him that my washing machine quit spinning and just made a loud noise and he knew instantly that the transmission coupler went bad. He started to take the washing machine apart with ease. Within 20 minutes he had the part replaced (with a more sturdy coupler) and the washing machine back together. After that he gave me good advice on how to keep the washing machine in good shape and make it last longer.

Our old gas dryer stopped heating on June 24th. I figured I would be shopping for a new dryer on my day off. A last minute thought had me check Angies list for appliance repairs and I came across Jim's listing.I called him at 6PM on June 25th and left a message. He returned the call in 20 min and set up an appt. for 6:30PM the next day. He showed up right on time, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in 20 min. The service fee was $45 and the part was $50. He was very personable and professional and gave us some tips on how to care for the washer & dryer so that they last even longer.

My wife and I bought furniture, and when we got home, appliances immediately started to break...isn't that the way it goes? I left a phone message for Jim on a Saturday morning and he called back in 15 minutes. He suggested a couple of things for us to try first, to avoid a repair visit. Jim was able to come by in the early afternoon. He diagnosed the problem with the door switch in about 30 seconds Jim said he could just tie off the switch (makes drum stop when door opens), to save money on the repair. Otherwise he would have done a temporary fix, ordered a switch and then replaced it. We don't have young children, and weren't concerned about the safety feature right then. Jim is prompt, fast, inexpensive, very clear about what he is doing and why, gives choices. He literally grew up in the repair business, and clearly knows what he's doing.

Arrived on time. Very friendly and professional. Would certainly recommend.

Service call in mid-February 2009. Extremely responsive - Jim was out within a day and OFFERED to come in the evening (I work days and was expecting to need to schedule on a Saturday). The evening of, he called to say he was on his way and arrived at the scheduled time. Was able to diagnose and fix the issue in one visit. Was very professional (clean appearance, friendly, etc), took time to explain (and show) what the issue was in plain English. Replaced parts and reinstalled, tested washer on several different settings to make sure it worked correctly (included testing for other issues, such as motor and clutch). Also suggested several 'usage' tips - in layman terms - to extend the life of the machine. Cleaned up after his work - would not have know anyone was there. Total time on site .... about 30-40 minutes. Would definitely use again. He was very thorough, yet efficient. Did not spend more time than necessary and never felt there was an 'agenda' to do anything more than exactly what was necessary or 'talk over my head' with technical terms/issues. Price was within my expectations and aligned with his estimate after diagnosing the problem.

I called Mr. Waddings and left a message. He got back to me later the same day and scheduled to come the following evening around 6 pm. He arrived on time. The washer had not been draining -- when he arrived he tried the machine and it worked fine. We determined the problem had likely been due to cold (drain or motor frozen up) and resolved on its own. I asked him to go ahead and check the machine. A part connected to the motor was badly worn and I asked him to go ahead and replace that which he did. I also asked him to check the dryer and perform routine maintenance. He told us that our machines were in good shape and functioning well. Mr. Waddings was pleasant and professional. I will most definitely call him again if I need washer/dryer service.

Jim came out the same day I called and quickly diagnosed the problem with the dryer. The timer had copper contacts that were damaged. He discussed with me whether I wanted the dryer repaired since the part was rather expensive and the dryer was an older model. Because the dryer had been working well and the cost of new dryers can be prohibitive, I opted for the repair. Jim contacted the parts company for information on availability and cost of the part and called me by cell phone with the information within 5 minutes of leaving my house. The part came in two days later and Jim was at my house to put the timer in that afternoon. He checked the dryer to make sure it was working properly before he left. The part itself was $100. Jim charged $50 for the two trips and labor. Quite a bargain!

It went very well. He came, he fixed, he charged a reasonable fee and the machine worked.

I left a message in the evening and he called me back first thing next morning. He told me he does not repair dishwashers (well, I should have paid better attention to his description) but he recommend a friend of his who was doing that work (and he came next day and did a great job).

Jim came the day after I called, on time. He said he hadn't encountered the problem before, but he worked until he determined that a computer piece needed replaced. He showed me the piece and told me about what the part would cost. When he found out when the part would arrive, he called to let me know. When it arrived, he called and came to replace it asap. The part was $110, very close to what he had estimated.

Great! No need for a service call for something I could do easily on my own.

He went very well. He is very pleasant and easy to do business. I appreciated his honesty as I thought the problem was more serious. I definitely will use him again in the future.

I can't say enough about him. He was so helpful, answered questions and gave hints to save money and extend the lifetime of my washer and dryer. He got the job done and didn't mind the fact that we watched him do the job.

My husband was pleased with his work and demeanor. He was professional and kept his appointment. He responded quickly.

Fantastic. I left Jim a message at 9:30 Sunday night; he called me back by 9 a.m. Monday morning and we made an appointment for 6 p.m. Tuesday. He called to tell me he was running a little late but then got to my house right on time. He diagnosed my problem immediately and had it fixed and working great in less than 20 minutes. He gave me some other tips for lengthening the lives of my washer and dryer as well.

Excellent experience. I called Jim, he promptly returned my call and showed up that night to inspect the problem. He needed to obtain a new part and came back the next day to fix it. Took him about an hour and half total. Great guy. Highly recommend

I was sorry that Jim couldn't repair my washer, but I admire someone who knows better than to get in over their head in a situation like this. He was responsive, and very nice.
