This roofing contractor used inexperienced workers to install the roof, resulting in poor installation and workmanship. While in the process of receiving the new roof the roof in progress was not adequately covered during rain and damage occurred to interior ceiling of home. Flashing was not installed around the chimney and when questioned, contractor stated he used "invisible" flashing. Siding was left buckled and damaged adjacent to the roof. Downspouts were not connected into the ground and covered with mulch. Another contractor had to be hired to correct poor workmanship.
Description of Work: Installed a new roof

If I would have known that 3-4 inches of water would still sit on the new roof, I would have paid a little more to have the rafters replaced, or at least rearranged as to allow the water to drain. The roof does not leak, but there was some sloppy concrete work done, and I asked to have the downspout sealed into the drain which was never done. Minor issues, but when I'm paying close to $3k, I would have liked the work to be a bit neater. I also would have appreciated some consulting about doing a little extra work to eliminate the standing water on my garage. To be fair, John was able to fit us in right away, of which I was very grateful. I cannot really comment on the price as I called 10 roofers, 2 actually come out to look at the job, and he was the only one who actually gave me an estimate.
Description of Work: I had a flat roof on my garage replaced down to the rafters.

Very well, replaced tile fits in well with existing ones.
Description of Work: John and Gary did excellent work for me last summer replacing broken and cracked slate on my roof. I actually had a bothersome leak that came in over the kitchen table light that he tracked down to some missing tiles and fixed. I had him back this year to again fix some broken slates and he photographs the broken slates, shows you where and how he will fix them and then does. He have reasonable pricing and when he quotes you a price, even if the job is a little more complicated, he stands by his price. He knows the roofing business and doesn't try to oversell you or do things that don't need doing. I will probably end up replacing my 70 year old slate roof next summer and John will be the first call I make!

Awesome. (1) Our 40+ year old flat roof finally failed and had to be replaced. John and Gary went on the roof, TOOK PICTURES and gave us a written bid that described in detail what they needed to do to replace/fix it. (2) Our newest house addition had skylights that leaked and had a failure in another area. Again, John and Gary gave us a very detailed written bid describing what they needed to do to fix it. They were very friendly, EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE, and listened to our concerns and answered all questions that we had. They gave us a date when they would start/end work on each project and they did indeed start and end as they stated. They were prompt and very hardworking. Their bids were very fair--we did not even solicit additional bids. They visited my home within one day of making the call to them; they submitted a bid, pictures and all, within a day or two (it was FAST). I would highly recommend them with no reservations. It is clear that they are very experienced professionals that take great pride in their work.
Description of Work: Two separate jobs: (1) replace flat roof on upper rear addition of house and (2) replace shingles, install ice/water shield, and reflash leaking roof on lower rear addition of house.
