This job was done terribly and I would definitely not recommend this electrician to others.
Description of Work: He rewired my home so poorly that the electrical panels caught on fire and nearly cost me my home

Unreliable, Have to keep calling him. Twice he made an appointment with me that he did not keep and he could not even call me back because he said he did not have my number. Meanwhile, I called him the morning of the appointment on his cell phone and he confirmed he would show up and then he did not and left me waiting all day long. How can you not have my number when I called you on your cell and it is in your history? It is called "Received Calls". Here we are on August 5th and my electrical issues which began on February 25th are still not resolved. Unacceptable. In addition, I told him that I had a deadline and absolutely had to have the house completed for an estate sale. He stood there and looked me in the eye and never said he would not be able to meet this deadline. I am now passed my deadline and called other companies to fix his work. I should have done this back in March and not been so nice and gullable.
Description of Work: On Feb 25, 2011, Jim Wentz, Joe and Jason showed up to replace my fuse box with a circuit breaker and also to add 2 new outlets in the kitchen for a cost of $1300. They had issues with the living room light switch as it tripped the new circuit breaker. Jim said that a double switch is "unsafe" and that it should be changed to a single switch. Joe and Jim left Jason behind by himself and he tried to fix it. After some time, he said it was fixed the switch and he left. They next morning when I turned on the light, it blew the overhead light and several lights in the hall. I called Jim and told him that something was not right and he needed to come back. It was a property that I am rehabbing so it was not urgent as no one lived there but it needed to be fixed. The electrical inspector was due to stop by and check the new circuit breaker and he told me not to tell Carmen, the inspector, about the issue and assured me that it was nothing and that he would fix it. Since I already had paid him in full, I expected him to fix it and did not want to pay someone else to. Big mistake. Three weeks goes by and I am still calling him. He finally shows up and says that old knob and tube in the wall is interfering with the switch and then blamed my handman who was installing new ceiling fans. Meanwhile, his worker Joe, said that nothing was wrong with the way my handyman wired up the ceiling fan and that it was correct. So Jim charged me another $200 and said he would have to rewire the whole living room. He does not show up until May 30, 2011 to rewire the living room. I had other projects going on there - installing a french drain and drywallers upstairs so I did not realize how much time had passed. I then went on vacation and got ill so I was not at the property for three weeks. I am the only one with a key. When I return, my dining room and kitchen and hallway lights and outlets do not work. I call him back. I wait several more weeks and never heard from him. He left outlets and wires hanging throughout my house and never finished his work because a bigger project came along.

His prices were cheaper than a few places that we had asked around. He was professional and I did not have any issues with him. He was punctual, we had a couple of appointments with him and he kept them all. The only thing is that he kept adding items in that we didn?t ask for. We wanted other electrical work done but his estimates were high and he kept adding things to the original plan that we did not think was necessary. I think that he gave us a cheap price with his first work just to impress us and jacked it up later. However, the work that he did was good, he was here with another gentleman and he did a great job too. We were satisfied with what he did.
Description of Work: He replaced our electric fuse box.
