We had used Randy to remove a wall in our home. Upon finishing, Randy replastered the wall and ceiling (where the wall had been) and peiced in our floor using new oak wood. End results look great. Randy did a fantastic job throughout all of it and was a great guy to work with.
Description of Work: Removed a wall, pieced in floor, plastered fall and celing.

He said he could do the job but he couldn't get the part but didn't tell us so a lot of time passed before we called him. When we did he said he was still trying to get the part but didn't think he could get it. He suggested that he do a more extensive job which we didn't want. It would have been better if he had given us the information sooner that he couldn't do the job we had asked for.
Description of Work: No service performed.

Our house is 70 years old and 2 other contractors didn't want to do the work because of the age and difficulty factor. Jeff was very confident that he could do a good job despite the age of the house. The back door was out and in quickly. The garage door was a major problem. The bricks around the jamb presented a problem but Jeff was able to figure out a solution. He also had to go out and buy and install new trim on the outside and inside of the garage door. He still managed to finish the work as promised. And he didn't charge us anything for the extra time or materials. Also, I had to special order a decorative piece for our front door and it hadn't arrived by the time Jeff did. He made a special trip back on a Saturday to install the new part and the new lock on our front door and he didn't charge for that either.
Description of Work: Removed OLD door jambs from back door and garage door and installed new doors. Also installed a new lock on our existing front door.

I left a message with my problem, and within 10 minutes received a call back. The representative understood my problem with a dead bolt lock no longer aligning with the door jam, and stated that he could fix it. He also stated that he had at least 2 other jobs that he needed to finish prior to getting to me. He stated that in about 2 weeks he would be free to look at my door. I agreed to wait for a call back as soon as he was free. It has been 4 weeks and no call back.
Description of Work: Problem with door and dead-bolt lock alignment.

Everything has been perfect from the word go. We couldn't be happier, especially because with a 100-year old house, it's great to know that we were fortunate enough to find a contractor that we trust and like and can help us over the next (several) years as we get this house in shape!
Description of Work: We can't say enough about how awesome Jeff and Chuckie are! They installed our kitchen for us (we found them through the kitchen place we went through to remodel our kitchen) and while they were here, they saw that we needed to do lots to our 100 year old house, and got SO MUCH DONE! They have planned and reinstalled original doors, laid kitchen flooring, laid oak flooring in our stairwell, removed old "kitchenette" stuff from the 2nd and 3rd floors of our house, taped and mudded holes left by the electrician after our house was rewired, built air conditioning vent "boxes" to cover new and hideous ductwork, etc. They are coming back soon to completely redo our 3rd floor bathroom and then in the fall/winter our 2nd floor bathroom, hopefully. They are timely, responsible, neat, and very fairly priced, and best of all they are a great time!
Once we'd agreed the work, they gave us an approximate time to start and were within that; they took longer than the estimate because we got them to do lots of other stuff. They arrived every day on time - on the couple of occasions they had to go and pick stuff up or go somewhere else, they let us know beforehand. They were friendly, efficient, tidy and cleaned up after themselves. I kept finding things that needed doing and they happily sorted it out for us; they made a neat job of everything they did. There was a hiccup over the last bit of flooring; they were about 2 square foot short of plank and rather than use the offcuts they ordered more which took some time to come, but wasn't a problem for us. We had got an electrician who they knew (though not through them) to do some work and couldn't get hold of him to finish the job, so they chased him up for us. We've already arranged for them to come back and do two jobs in the spring and another larger project when we can afford it.
Description of Work: Originally we asked them to build a part wall, build a wall with French doors, and put a wood floor in the basement. However, while they were working for us we asked them to do several other jobs - build some shelving, fix a leak in the roof, add weather strips to door, etc. I asked them for a contact to fix a broken window and they arranged that too and included it in the price. I needed some materials for a job and my car wasn't big enough so they fetched that too.
