Everything turned out great. They were friendly, efficient, gave a good price, fixed the problem, and there were no scheduling problems. The gentleman who came out was also knowledgeable and helpful.

Was disappointed that they did not tell me in advance that there was additional charges for the Air Cleaner and Humidifier, even though this was indicated on the original note to them. Technician was not experienced with all of our equipment. Overall, though, good service.

Technicians completed all work in my absence. However, the tenant had no complaints, the work was done quickly, and the quality seems excellent. My lone complaints: After paying the deposit, I was not billed for four months after the job was completed. However, I would use the company again without hesitation.

We used this Big Deal for a HVAC service call. Our igniter was not working on the furnace. They did a good job with fixing that. They got here the same day. We called them that morning and they got here this afternoon. They did have to go get some parts, but he was back quickly and took care of it. There was a charge for parts; and we were told in advance. My wife mentioned that he was professional, explained what was wrong and took care of things quickly. They were responsive too and that was great for us.

My house is a large Victorian and the double heaters that we're failing needed to be replaced. I had several companies provide bids and advice on what would be the best way to update my HVAC system, but JA Sauer provided the best solution improving the overall performance and enabling me to install only one high efficiency unit. The heating system works better than it ever has, a steady temperature is maintained and my old house is evenly heated, which is a first. I would recommend this company to any one and will use them again for future HVAC needs.

The service worked out fine. They were efficient and did their job. There were a lot of significant charges because they had to replace a blower in the furnace. I might call them back to do maintenance work.

After taking measurements of the duct I was sent the estimate by email. The repair was scheduled for the following week. The quality of the repair was good. There was a mixup in the scheduling. I waited for one hour after the scheduled time before calling and then they sent someone out.

I have used this company for 13 years.. they installed 2 furnaces and 1 AC unit. I was sort of happy as they were responsive and seemed helpful. Last year my furnace died (12 year old Trane) and the initial cost to replace the part was $1200.. they said the part was $800. When I showed them that I could buy the part for about $400 online, they agreed to fix it for $700. Hmmm. The other day during my annual inspection/cleaning, the tech said the same furnace is dangerous as it is rusting out etc. While the part has a life time warranty, the service to change it out would be over $1100, but I was gong to get a price break at $960. He told me that I should consider a new furnace as he would not fix a 12 year old Trane. I called around and now have a new furnace guy. He is going to fix my Trane for under $600. It strikes me as odd that a company I have been loyal to has been trying to price gouge me? I am fine paying for good service and work... but 50% more than others? Is that what I get for my loyalty? Goodbye J A Sauer. UPDATE: I just had another company inspect my furnace. They crawled in there and checked it out thoroughly and said there is nothing wrong with my furnace at all. There was some calcium in there that was the result of my humidifier being set up improperly.. installed by Sauer.. which this company fixed for me. So I do not need a new furnace at all... so glad I have moved on

Went great; we used a Angie's List coupon offered by Sauer which I printed up and used no problem.

It went well, we were pleased. They were nice and efficient. They quoted us and were prompt.

Denny came out day #2 with the motor, had it installed in 30 minutes.. asked him to look at the a/c and he did a through clean and check. Works like new! We got in touch with these guys because our regular guy is ill, and Sauer, along with some other HVAC companies, are helping their friend keep their customers serviced. Only in Pittsburgh would you find competitors rally to help each other out like this.

It turned out very well. The service guy was very friendly. He found the issue almost immediately and then pointed us in the right direction to get it fixed. He tried to sell us a thermostat but I went to Home Depot, bought one myself, and installed it. I wouldn't have never found out that it was the thermostat that was bad without him. I think I had the work done the same day. The price of the service they performed was great, but the price for the thermostat they tried to sell me was unbelievable. The thermostat I bought from Home Depot was $60 and they wanted to sell it to me for about $250, but I guess they have to have a markup on things.

We have been having problems with the location of our thermostat. The afternoon sun beats down on the thermostat and distorts the actual temperature reading, which causes the air to run much more than it should. When we asked for any solutions to this problem they weren't much help, saying there really wasn't anything we could do. I would think there has to be a programmable thermostat or something that could help fix the problem. Overall, though, they serviced our a/c unit without any issues. We were satisfied and would use them again.

They provided everything they stated in a professional and timely fashion. The technicians (Brandon and Mike) were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The job was performed exactly to schedule.

The scheduling went well and we were able to get service the day after we called (this was not an emergency). They schedule in time windows about 4 hours in length. You choose the morning or afternoon window. They call the customer about 1/2 hour before the technician actually arrives. We choose the afternoon window and the office called about 1 hour after the start of the time window and the technician arrived about 1/2 hour after that. The tech performed a diagnostic test of the system and determined that the problem was indeed a leaky pressure relief valve. After getting a new valve from the truck, he installed it and then tested it for leaks. Lo and behold the brand new valve had a leak (this was not J. A. Sauer?s fault; it just turned out to be a defective new valve from the factory). Because it was late afternoon, their suppliers were closed so he couldn?t get a new valve that day. Instead, he tried cleaning the old valve of deposits around the gasket. He said sometimes you get lucky and the old valve will work after cleaning. If the old valve worked, we wouldn?t have to buy a new one. The old valve was reinstalled and there weren?t any leaks. He said keep an eye on the old valve and if it did leak, they would come back and install a new one and there wouldn?t be any additional diagnostic or service charge if they had to come back (Sauer guarantees their work for 30 days). After about 4 days, I noticed a very slow leak in the old valve and decided to take advantage of their 30 day work guarantee. I scheduled an appointment for the next day to replace the valve. The technician arrived and looked for a new valve in the truck but they didn?t have one. He then called several suppliers and said it would have to be special ordered and it would take about one week for Sauer to get it from the supplier. Since the old valve still worked for the most part, we agreed. About one week later, the office called and said the valve arrived and I arranged an appointment for the next day. The technician arrived in the time window and installed the new valve. We haven?t had a problem with the new valve. The technicians were helpful, thorough and knowledgeable. During the third visit, they also informed us that our particular boiler needs a tune up about every 2 to 3 years. I?m glad they mentioned that because I vaguely remembered the salesman stating something similar when we bought the boiler. They offered a discount if you decide on the tune-up in the next day or so but they don't pressure you to buy the service. The total cost of the valve replacement was a bit more than we originally expected to pay but that was because the valve installed by the original installers is a hard-to-find part. That's also the reason it took 3 visits to complete the job.

We were given a date for installation and were told it would be a two day project. The old furnace actually died the night before the installation was scheduled and my husband drove down with box heaters to keep house warm for our daughter overnight. The crew of two men arrived on time or early the next day and worked until 5pm to make sure the new furnace was installed and running so the home had heat before they left that evening. It was 20 degrees and was much appreciated by our daughter. They cleaned up everything and left the place spotless as if no work had been done in or around the house. Our daughter said they were polite and very hard working. My husband was there for first day of the project and asked the men if they would also take out and replace the vent pipe for the hot water heater and they did this as well at no charge. Every thing we asked of them they did with speed and efficiency and with good quality workmanship. We were very impressed overall with this company and the crew. They reviewed everything they did with us every step of the way. They filled out and submitted rebate applications, sent warranty papers, etc. It was well worth our time and effort to obtain 3 different proposals from contractors as Sauer's Price Match Guarantee helped us with the cost when they agreed to match a lower estimate. Do yourself a favor and call them for an estimate and make sure you get estimates from other companies with identical equipment and Sauer will match the proposal. You will be glad you made the extra effort as this company is one of the best we have ever used for any type of large project in over 30 years we have owned and remodeled homes for our family. The awards this company has won from Carrier and from folks on Angies List are completely warranted if you ask us. Perfect job, great employees, good price. Very happy customers :-)

Everything went very well. He was very professional, he purchased the needed part and competed the job in a reasonable length of time.

My overall experience with J.A. Sauer was excellent. My interactions with everyone was very good, and the technician, Denny, was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

Overall, I'm pleased. I think that I was treated fairly, and believe that the price was reasonable for a house call on short notice.

The estimate was done very professional, arriving on time and getting back to me when he said he would. It took 4 days to complete and not only did they always arrived on time but cleaned up completly when leaving. Very hard working men. Sorry can't remember their names. Project was finished on time The AC worked great all summer and the furnace has been super with very little noise compared to the old one

We were extremely pleased with the services. We just moved into a new house with a very old furnace with a crack in the heat exchange. We didn't want to turn it on as the inspector said it might leak carbon monoxide, but the weather was getting colder so we needed someone who could get the job done fast. JA Sauer delivered. They came out the day after we called to check out the situation, provided a quote and detailed proposal the day after that (with two options for different levels of efficiency), and then were in our home installing a new furnace a couple days later. We went with the higher efficiency model, and the quote was actually lower than we had expected. The guys arrived on time, installed the furnace and thermostat, ran a pipe line through our basement wall, and hooked the system up to our existing air conditioning. They did the whole job in about three hours, and left the place cleaner than it was before. All told, from our first call to the time we had heat in our house, it took less than a week--which we very much appreciated, with temperatures dropping more each night. We would definitely choose this company again!

We chose J.A. Sauer because we were impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of Gregg Elser who appeared to have a complete understanding of our needs. Although Sauer's bid was not the least expensive of the three we obtained, it was the most comprehensive and easy to understand. We also appreciated that Gregg gave us three choices. During installation I had a few more questions, and Gregg replied almost immediately to my emails or phone calls which we also appreciated--too often the salesman leaves the picture once the job begins, but this was not the case with Gregg. Next, having spent five days with Brandon and Mike working in my home, I feel I am in a very good position to judge their work ethic which is very admirable. It was a big job, and those two worked constantly except for time spent on very short lunches. Each night, they left the site neat and clear of debris. When they had to make some alterations, they discussed them with me. They had to cut a hole in the ceiling of a closet, and I was impressed that they covered the hole with a removable grate for future access. Most workers would have left the hole open, particularly since it was hidden in a closet. I intend to write a positive review on Angie's List, and I hope you will let Gregg, Brandon and Mike know that I have written this email to you in praise of their work.

The air conditioner made a screeching noise for one day and there was no cooling (Wednesday). On Thursday, after determining that the cooling fan blades were not moving, J.A.Sauer was called. Fortunately the weather was cool and there was no backlog of service calls. The technician arrived within 2 hours of our call, 20 minutes after I was told he was on his way. Within 2 hours, the fan was replaced and cooling restored. We have a service contract with J.A.Sauer for routine maintenance, but this was outside that agreement.The technician, who has been here previously, was courteous, friendly, polite, and very efficient. He even repaired a small problem with our thermostat while he was here.This service call should be rated an A+++.

They're polite. They're knowledgeable. They're prompt, courteous. Their pricing is comparable. They call ahead of time when we're due for service,. They call when they're on the way. We've been using them for about thirty years, and they have provided consistent service over the years.

We first met Gregg (Systems Consultant) at the J.A. Sauer Booth at the Pittsburgh Home Show. He was helpful in showing some of the different equipment options and we scheduled an appointment for him to come to our home and recommend an equipment solution for the replacement of our furnace and air conditioner. He was very thorough in his examination of existing equipment and provided a written proposal with three different options to consider. The proposals were very specific as to what was included. Gregg also provided operating cost estimates for each option and expected energy savings. We signed the quote and paid a deposit to have the equipment ordered on March 14th. The equipment was installed over a two day period on March 19th & 20th. Two service men (Jeff &?) came and started the work as agreed. They pulled the old furnace out and put the new model in with the air cleaner on a new concrete pad. They ran the PVC pipes out to the side wall for intake/outtake to the air conditioner. They put covers down to keep our carpet clean. There was good communication between Greg and the installers. No surprises. The sheet metal duck work was clean and professional. They replaced the sewer cover and put the plastic PVC pipe outlets into the sewer cover as agreed. The second day they removed the old air conditioner and installed the new model on a new concrete pad. They did a nice job with the outside wall where the PVC pipes and copper tubing linked to the A/C. They also installed the new thermostat and were done with the work by 3pm. Gregg also followed up after installation to make sure we were satisfied. In addition, Gregg assisted in the completion of the Equitable Gas rebate forms which needed several details on costs by category. Overall Gregg said he wanted to exceed our expectations on the delivery and installation of our new furnace and air conditioner. HE DID!
