Contacted Hoolan and was told it would be a while before they could do any work. that was fine. they came out and did an estimate for the damage from the storm. I have filed an insurance claim and want to get the roof repaired. I contacted them b/c of their good ratings on Angie's List. However, they never sent me an estimate. I followed u p2 times with calls and never got a response. I do not understand why they would go through the trouble of coming to my house to do an estimate and then never actually send it to me. I really want to get my repairs done and was willing to wait until they had time in their schedule. My experience with them has been very disappointing.

They are really very good. I thought the price was good and very competitive. The insurance guy who went up on the roof to look at the winter damage said it was a very good flat roof. He is listed on a national slate roof website, that's why I chose him. I have a 90 year old house with a 90 year old slate roof so I wanted someone who could do a good job. This winter was especially tough, but they managed to set my appointment and he showed up on time. It took a week to get me the estimtate, but they were very good. They are the only ones I'd let up on my roof. Once you find someone who does slate repair well, you wanna keep using them. He becomes familiar with the roof and the age of the roof.

Mr. Hoolihan was very professional. It did take a few weeks to get an estimate since they were busy due to all the roof and gutter damage due to our severe winter. We ended up not using him because we went back to our builder since our house was less than 5 years old, but i was satisfied with his estimate and expertise and would not hesitate to use him in the future.

Although inundated with work from the snow storm, he responded quickly to an email inquiry. (I think the company prefers email over phone calls - his voice mailbox was full by phone). Based on his overall Angie's A rating already, I told him I didn't need an estimate first; fortunately my insurance company didn't require it either. He was able to do the work within a week of my call. Highly responsive, well done and good cleanup,

Paul and his assistant arrived on 02/19/2010 and proceeded with the long handeled roof sweeps to remove the snow. He was honest enough to admit he did not repair Awnings, but assured me that if our roof caused a problem because of the ice and snow melt. to give him a call! He and his partner than removed any of the ice and snow from the area it fell in.

Paul Hoolahan came over as promised and gave the best quote. He was upfront about the length of time it would take before he could get started. The roofers arrived in mid November and finished in Mid January. The weather was prohibitive and the reason for the extended down time. There were a couple of weekends when the crew could have worked had they wanted to, (Perhaps they were busy else where) The jobsite was cleaned up everyday before the crew left. When it comes time for us to replace the front half of the roof I will definitely call Paul Hoolahan.

I was calling about leaky roof, I'm assuming my job just wasn't big enough for him but I think it's very rude not to return a call

Paul came the very day I contacted him to look at the roof and make an estimate. The other roofer I contacted immediately told me he did not work on slate. Paul was upfront about this being a smaller job that he would fit in among some larger jobs. We communicated via email and he kept me abreast of his schedule. He completed the job in one day.

The owner of the company came out to give me the estimate. He was very nice, courteous, and helpful when he came out to give me the estimate. The only reason that I chose not to go with them at this time is that they could not come out until November or December and I could not have them out during the holidays. I am looking into using them next year.

The work was done without me needing to run home from work and Paul provided a quick and accurate estimate when he first came to my home.

He came out and gave us a free estimate. We liked his estimates. We had other companies come out and say that we needed a new roof. We made it clear to all of them that we were trying to keep the cost down the road for a couple of years. We liked him because instead of giving a 100% solution of redoing the roof he gave us 90% solution to refill the roof. He was confident that we could get another 3 to 5 years out of that roof so we hired him. He came and did the work when we had been on a vacation. He sent us the email informing us what exactly he did for us. I appreciate it. We will hire him to redo the roof when the time comes.

Very well, Paul Hoolahan came to look at the roof and give me an estimate only a few days after I spoke with him. He gave me the quote and said his calender was full until August. I said I could wait and for him to place me on his list (after I got two other quotes and decided to go with Hoolahan.) August came and Paul called on a Friday to say his crew was ready to start on Monday. I was not sure if that was enough time to pick out the tile, but Paul came over when he was done with work with a lot tile samples and my wife and I were able to pick one we like within a few minutes. The crew came on Monday morning at 8 am just like Paul said the would and began striping the roof. By late Tuesday afternoon they were done with the entire roof and had the area cleaned. The whole time they were on the work sight they were prompt and courteous .

I contacted Mr. Hoolahan on June 16th 2009 for an estimate on my roof because of the information I had received from a gentleman who had cleaned our gutters. He stated that we had some roofing and gutter problems that should be taken care of. Mr Hoolahan made an appointment to be at my home on the 18th as arranged thru our E-mails. He did a thorough inspection of the roof and promised to work up a proposal. True to his word, he came through with a proposal on the 22nd, again through E-Mail. Although he was the highest of all the bids I received, his was also the most comprehensive. As he came so highly recommended thru Angie's List, I hired him. He notified me that due to the unexptedly wet summer, he would not be able to do my work until the end of July and as a matter of fact called us to set up his work for the 3rd of August. He and his assistant showed up on schedule did the work and even added a cap to our chimney to keep rain and critters out. He had the garbage that was created by he work cleaned up and left at approximately 3:30 p.m. having been here either himself or his assistant from 8:00 a.m. Work done very well and totally professionaly.

The work scheduling was a little troublesome due in part to variable weather conditions. But the company representatives we dealt with were responsive, proactive and professional. Nice guys all. The work estimate was provided on time and it was very thourough. The owner worked with me on a final price. The work was finished quickly and they left no mess behind. After completion I inspected the work and found one item which they had overlooked. It only took one call to the company and a team came by the next day and took care of it.

About as painless as possible. I actually never even met with a member of the team. Paul visited my house while I was at work. He called me with his estimate and explained what needed to be done. Seemed very forthright and honest. The team showed up did the job quickly, and I barely noticed they were even at my house. I actually chose him based on his response to a customer complaint regarding an estimate. The response revealed two things. 1) he runs the business with high standards 2) he cares about his work. As far as the price goes, it was in-line with other estimates I received. I come from the "you get what you pay for school." I would rather spend a couple hundred extra dollars (which was not the case here) for quality work than go through the hassle of of fixing a botched project or dealing with an incompetent group. Job well done and no complaints.

Hoolahan is by far the best contractor that I have ever used. They were extremely professional. They took the time to clean up after themselves as well as doing cleaning some things that they did not leave. I was very impressed by them. They did very good quality work. I think that they were great!

Just before the winter last year, 2 pieces of fascia had fallen off my roof. I found Hoolahan on Angie's list and called to get an estimate on repairing the damage. I also wanted to know if the existing pieces could be re-used, how best to re-attach them, how to be sure they wouldn't fall again, etc. Paul was very nice and professional. I was delayed at work and he was able to investigate the problem before I got home and waited for me. The work was done promptly and cost exactly as much as estimated. He also explained in detail answers to all my questions.

I called Hoolahan Roofing & Remodeling based on the Angie's List recommendations. They were courteous, prompt, professional, and on target. Their worker was friendly & helpful. They cleaned up after the job and the roof looks as if they were never here! We've had much rain since the work was done and not a drop is coming in. The real test will come over the winter when we're back in the freeze-thaw cycle, but it appears the problems have been fixed.

I found the name on Angie's list, contacted him by email and he got back to me right away. Hoolihan came over and looked at our roof, gave me a verbal estimate. A couple of weeks later he called me the night before a roofer showed up. The roofer was nice, courteous and cleaned up after himself. He sent me an invoice by email and the price was right on with his estimate.

I got the name from Angie's List; called and left a message on a Saturday and my call was returned on Monday. Paul went to my house and then called again with an estimate. We discussed the job and his men managed to do the work between the rain on Friday. I never did meet anyone in person. The job looks perfect, and they really cleaned up well.

We ended up using another contractor who bid lower for this job, but we would definitely consider using Hoolahan Roofing in the future.

Very well, just way too much money.

We had a leak in a fairly new roof. This contractor examined the house and suggested a plausible remedy. He provided a prompt estimate and, although the job was delayed because of the weather, completed work quickly once the job was started.

I heard about him on Angie's List. He was great, terrific. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, and it had to be done really quickly. He fulfilled these requirements. I remember the price being very reasonable. The project went really well. He was amazingly professional. It was in the middle of winter when I called him, and we kept having snowstorms. He kept checking in with me and calling about not being able to do work that day because of weather, but he would always reschedule. He was very professional with that situation.

Paul is exceptionally responsive and very professional. He provided a fair estimate for the chimney repairs and and provided high quality work for exactly the amount he quoted. I would definitely use him again and would refer him to everyone.
