Description of Work: I had a very nice diamond solitaire reset from a yellow gold to white gold ring setting. I was expecting top-notch service considering the reviews I read on Angieslist. The sales person was pleasant enough and seemed to know what he was doing. I was pleased with the simple ring setting I chose. I also asked for an insurance appraisal to which the sales person told me it wouldn't be a problem and it would be ready to go with the ring when I pick it up, with photographs. However, several days later when I followed up on the progress of the ring, I discovered they had my name spelled incorrectly which peaked my anxiety as another associate had told me they had no record of me or my ring in their system! After that was resolved, the plus side to the story is that they were able to have my ring ready quickly and I picked it up about a week and a half later. However, to my dismay, the appraisal was not ready with the ring as promised and I was adamantly told it would be mailed to me immediately. Well, several days to over a week went by with no appraisal. So I had to call to follow-up on this and was told at that point it would be sent to me in the mail - no apologies by the way. Finally, I received it, 2 weeks after I was initially supposed to receive it. However, there were no photographs to be found! I called again and I spoke to a manager who apologized (sort of) but kept making excuses for what happened and said I would need to come back in for photographs to be taken. He even sounded irritated that I was upset about it. Now, in my mind, a reputable jeweler should know that photographs are supposed to be included in an insurance appraisal. However, the manager did not have an answer as to the reason for this misstep. I was told I would be called back but did not hear back from anyone. I am remiss for going to Henne in the first place and even hesitate to return to get photographs of my ring taken. Overall, this was a very unsettling experience. ADDENDUM: A few days after I posted the above, the owner of the store contacted me to personally apologize. I really appreciated this gesture. He offered to send me a stock photo of a similar ring so I would not have to go through the hassle of going back to the store to have my ring photographed for insurance purposes. I received this in the mail several days following the phone call. The owner followed up with me again to make sure I received the information/photograph. If only his employees understood customer service the way he does, I have a feeling I wouldn't have gone through what I did. I let the owner know that while it was clear that his employees treat long-term clients quite well, I walked away with the sense that this is not the case with new clientele.
