Had to come back to fix initial instal but it was made right

Job went well, the work was clean and left no visible mess. Thus far I have 0 overflows or flooding like I had before.

Hired someone else before they called!

The crew was incredibly efficient. I had to watch how long it took a neighbor to get their roof redone to really appreciate how efficient the crew that did my roof really was. They were reasonably priced, and just to be clear, I didn't have the Gutter Helmet installed, only a regular screen on my gutters, so they don't just do Gutter Helmet installations.

Installation looks nice. One snow test was successful.

After the gutter helmet was installed, we noticed that the water was pouring over the gutter because when it was installed, they left a gap on the end, and birds were building nests in the gutter. When we called gutter helmet, we were informed that they no longer serviced the county where we lived, and couldn't help us. A few years ago, at our county fair, gutter helmet was selling their product. When I complained to them about my problem they said they would clean them only if I paid them. Out of frustration, we paid them to come out to fix and clean the problem. When I came home from work, I noticed that they had been there and removed the gutter helmet. In doing this, they also broke some shingles off the edge of the roof. I called and never got a satisfactory answer as to why they took the gutter helmet back to Murraysville. They wouldn't refund my money, so I demanded the gutter helmet back. I had to make a trip to Murraysville to pick it up. Because of the damage they caused removing the gutter helmet, I had to have a new roof installed which ended up costing me $17,000.00. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Every time I see their ads stating, you'll never have to clean your gutters again, I want to call a lawyer. updated 7/31/2019 Gutter helmet issued a statement on this site assuring me that they would contact me to resolve this issue. It's been a year and a half and I've never received any letter or phone call. This is exactly what i figured I'd get from this company. Once they get paid, they forget you as a customer. I'm still wondering why they removed the gutter helmet from my roof without informing me when they'd be at my house, and then taking it to Murraysville. Hey gutter helmet. I'm still waiting for a reply. How about changing your advertisement and eliminate the phrase about never having to clean your gutters again.

The process with Gutter Helmet was pretty easy. The sales rep Tim came over and was timely, polite, and informative. He had a tablet with some videos to show things that are sometimes hard to envision through just words. We had even considered expanding our project to the whole house but had concern with cost. He mentioned that we could always add on later if we'd like, so he wasn't pushing to change the job at all to increase the sale. This was nice to not feel pressured. The install happened sooner than expected too, and we could choose to be present or not. We paid 3 installments: one upon signing, the second upon installation, and the final a couple weeks or so after the installation to make sure things went well. That leads into the only snag, which was that Tim pointed out how our one gutter was noticeably sloped the opposite direction and pulling away from the house a bit, likely due to snow/ice/clogging build up. He said that the installers would both clean and correct any pitching before installing to ensure the helmet worked as it should. When we got home the day of the install (we could not be present for it), we didn't see any difference in the pitch of the gutter. I called them and in a couple days got a hold of their service area. A gentlemen was sent out that called me from my home (again I could not be present) and mentioned that they were able to indeed shift the gutter a few inches and also described putting a 'diverter' on one part of the roof to lessen the water flow in a particular spot. So, all in all we were happy after that, but I did wonder why those things just weren't done to begin with. The price was decent to supposedly never have to clean my gutters again, while some are 2 stories up) and they claim to have a lifetime, transferrable warranty. Time will tell I suppose once the years wear on the helmets with snow/rain/ice/debris, but the install and function thus far has gone well.

The installation seemed fine. They were prompt and finished on time. The first winter we still had icing problems and when it rains, some of the gutters are like waterfalls. The water does not seem to go into the gutter at all. Made repeat phone calls and took about 6 months to get someone out. They came out and said the gutters were slopped wrong and that was out issue. The readjusted all 4 gutters. Still having major issues with one of the 4 gutters. I have tried to contact them again today with 10 phone calls. Even though I live in the Pittsburgh area on the paperwork I have been given by them, they gave me a Maryland phone # to call for service. When I call that # they give me another number, then another number and so forth. I have made 10 phone calls and still have not been able to talk to anyone in my area about the issue.

New roof installed because shingles were falling off the original roof that was 26 years old. We Rob came out and gave us an estimate and was very nice and detailed in explaining the different shingles. The workers that did the house were very clean and kept nails out of my yard to a min. I have a 3 year old and a small dog so I was really concerned about that. The roof was installed about 2 days. The roof looks great and so far no issues. The only complaint I would have to say is that the lady that scheduled us wasn't really great about getting back to me quickly. I would def have them do work again.

After I had them up about 2 years, we had a snow fall. Regular winter snow fall. I have a double roof, all the gutters from the higher roof fell off (one end or the other). I called the company because they said they were guarantee for life. The guarantee was to keep leaves out of the gutter not keep the gutter helmets on the house. They wanted me to take the rest of the gutter helmets off. I called 5 or 6 times and talked to the manager before they came out and took the rest down and removed them as a courtesy. In which they told me they don't normally do.

On June 3rd, I signed a contract for gutter helmet to be installed over my gutters. Because of the condition of my gutters, the salesperson gave my order "priority," which was supposed to move my order up the list to be installed. Barring any torrential rainstorms, the contract guaranteed my gutter helmet would be installed within 20 days (by June 23rd). About two weeks later, I received a call from billing, who needed a bit more information in order to run my credit card for my initial deposit. The woman in billing had just gotten around to starting my order, and had no idea that my order had a rush on it until I asked specifically about it and she looked closely at my contract. She told me that she would send my job to the installations department, and would let them know that it had a rush on it. On the 23rd, I called Gutter Helmet, asking why I had heard nothing since talking to the woman in billing, and was told that my gutter helmet would be installed soon. Around 5 or 6 PM a few days later, the installation team finally showed up. They blasted loud music while rushing through the job. While doing yard work a few days later, I noticed that the installers had left behind several sharp metal trimmings scattered around the perimeter of my house, which easily could have hurt someone had I not noticed them and carefully removed all of the trimmings I could find. Moreover, the gutter helmet is designed in such a way that in order to work properly, the lip of the gutter helmet must extend beyond the lip of the gutters. The gutter helmets aren't even close to extending far enough out. Luckily, there's a lifetime guarantee, so when the gutters inevitably clog up because the gutter helmet wasn't properly installed, the company will have to come out and repair them. IN SHORT: GREAT PRODUCT IDEA, LOUSY EXCECUTION

We had used Gutter Helmet by Harry Helmet to install gutter covers a few years ago and have been extremely pleased with them & the service. We wanted to add a retractable awning to our deck so we looked at what various companies had to offer at the Pittsburgh Home Show in Mar 2015. We liked the awning offered by Gutter Helmet & based on our previous experience with the company & our discussion with the gentleman at the home show, we scheduled at appointment for someone to come out and give us an estimate. They showed up as scheduled & gave us the estimate & we decided to have them install the awning. They told us that it would take about 8-10 weeks because the awnings are custom made. A couple gentlemen came out a few weeks later and verified the measurements etc. and then a few weeks later we got a call advising they would be installing the awning on 5/15. They do great work & are very pleasant & professional. Would you them again if I had a need for their service. Their prices were very competitive & as repeat customers we got a discount. Highly recommend them.

I approached Harry Helmet at the Home Show because I needed new gutters. I was very happy with the salesperson and the information I received. The installers were excellent. They were very efficient and cleaned up the yard at the end of the job. They also told me that some metal sheeting was lifting up on my roof and since they were up there they nailed it down. Which was greatly appreciated. There have been several heavy rains since the new gutters and helmets have been installed and they are working great.

My house has two large trees overhanging the roof of the house. The trees include a tulip popular and a locust. These trees drop something different each month of the summer. Before installing this produce I had to get on the roof at least three times a year to clean the gutter and even with cleaning the downspouts would always clog and the gutters would overflow. The locust tree is particularly a problem because it drops small flowers, then flower stems and then leaves and small branches. All of these would pack into the gutter. Because of all of this small debris I doubted anything would work. Gutter Helmet is guaranteed so I gave it a try. Gutter Helmet has been on for over one year now and the gutters are still clean and flowing freely. The product is solid and I am very pleased with the installation. I never thought it would work. I am truly impressed and would recommend it to anybody.

Overall the work was done very well. We hired the company to replace old leaking gutters and downspouts that were in poor condition on our entire house (parts two-story and part single-story). The salesperson arrived on time and was knowledgeable about the product. We reviewed options and he demonstrated the Gutter Helmet system. We decided to purchase it and were happy that the company uses its own installation staff. The installers showed up on the days we were told they would be there. However, the company consistently calls late in the day before they are to arrive. They could do much better about scheduling work with a little more notice. In addition, it would be nice to know what time the crew is to arrive. We found it necessary to ask each time we received a call when the crew should be there and answers were usually somewhat vague. The actual installation went very well. The crew ran out of some materials before installation was finished, apparently because not enough was ordered beforehand (we opted for colored downspouts to match our siding). However, they came back with the right materials and finished the job according to specifications. They also relocated a downspout that was to have been moved from its original location, coming back at my request later to allow for another company to install a new drain line. After they were done, my wife and I stood outside in the rain watching water run into the gutters and leaves fall on the ground. We received exactly what we paid for. The work was done professionally and on time and we are very pleased with the results.

I called Harry Helmet to schedule an in home appointment after seeing them at numerous shows. I would have preferred to just have someone give me an estimate without having to schedule an afternoon in my home with a sale representative. On May 16, 2014, Tim O?Brien arrived on time with all of his presentation materials. He showed me a couple of different leaf protect systems and provided me with estimates for my entire house (approx. 51 ft.) and also only the second story back gutters. He included all coupons and discounts. He was a typical sales representative, but he wasn't overly "high presser sales". He explained that service under $1000 would not be eligible for financing. I completed a financing (Wells Fargo credit card) application. I scheduled a tentative day to have the work completed, pending the approval of my credit application. I received my new Wells Fargo credit card in the mail within a few days. However, Harry Helmet did NOT call me to tell me I was approved or to confirm my appointment. On June 2, 2014, I called them to confirm my appointment for June 13, 2014. The first female that I spoke to seemed confused by my call and my exact scheduled service date. I had requested a specific date when I knew I would be home. There is even a spot on the application with the option that ?Customer to Be Present During Installation?. She transferred me to another female (Dotty) that was able to confirm my installation date. However, when I asked her about the specific window of time, she seemed UNWILLING to commit to a time frame. She indicated that it depending on what other work was scheduled that day, materials needed, and traffic. When I questioned it, she finally agreed to put me on the scheduled for first thing that morning. However, she was still reluctant to give me a specific time due to possible ?traffic?. Harry Helmet called me the day before to remind me of my appointment. In the message, they stated that if I was not home they would complete the service and leave paperwork on my door. I called them back to confirm that they would NOT do the work if I was not there. They reassured me that they knew that. On June 13, 2014, one installer (Larry) arrived at my home at 9:00am. He made sure I was home and then started working. I?m glad I was home since he was working by himself. He noted that his partner had recently quit. He completed the installation in approximately two hours. As part of the service all of my gutters were to be cleaned and realigned. He left me with additional information on how to care for my new Gutter Helmet. I few days later I notice that a piece of a plastic Christmas light hook was still in one of my front gutters and a piece of Gutter Helmet flashing was sticking out. On June 23, 2014, I called Harry Helmet regarding the issues. Dotty stated that they would send someone out to fix the issues and that they would leave a note in my door when it was fixed. I did not like the idea of them showing up whenever to fix their work, but I agreed. On August 8, 2014, they finally corrected the issues. Mike left a left a door hanger note. The Gutter Helmets seem to be functioning properly.

They were extremely professional, knowledgeable, knowing exactly what they were doing and answering any questions we had. They were fast and efficient. We were completely happy with the service. Everything was installed properly and looks good. We expect that the Gutter Helmet system will meet our expectations, but time will tell.

They arrived when said they would, performed installation and checked with us and left.

The price was reasonable. They were courteous, informative and answered questions. They did get the job done in timely manner. They were easy to work with. They called back and things like that. I haven’t had problems with them whatsoever. I think they delayed due to the weather but it was reasonable. Everything was fine and got the job done in timely manner.

put on a new roof. it went well. they even changed a burned out security light for me!

My experience went very well. The staff was professional and friendly while visiting. The pricing was reasonable and I was pleased with the outcome in the service. I would recommend this company to others.

One of their men came out and gave me an estimate. I decided to go with them for the work. My neighbors were watching the guys work. They were supposed to put new wood and then cover the wood with aluminum. They charged me an extra $1500 for the new wood. They covered the old wood with the aluminum. If it wasn't for my neighbors I would have never known. I called the company immediately. My son got on a ladder and checked it out. They did take off some of the money because of this. I would have gotten charged $1500.00 and I never would have known. If someone calls this company, they need to watch them do their work.
