Horrible experience. Agreed to start work on July 5 and finish on or about end of July. It's mid-August and there is still much work to do. Completely unreliable - routinely does not show up. Said "I'll be there first thing tomorrow" and didn't show up for three days. Complains about getting wet in rain yet does not show up when it's 72 degrees and sunny. Occasionally has assistants, but they are unreliable and unqualified as well. Different assistants each time. Some he's never met until they show up at the job site. Agreed to replace rotted wood. Cut out 12" square section but still has not replaced it after 3 weeks and numerous heavy storms. Finally stapled a plastic shopping bag over the hole after 3 weeks. Leaves paint scrapings, cigarette butts, tools, and other items all over the yard. Placed ladders and other gear on plants after specifically being told not to. His ad claims "reliable efficient work, guaranteed work." He has yet to prove it. Unprofessional.
Description of Work: Contracted to: remove all loose paint, caulking, debris. Scrape, sand by hand & machine etc. All noticeable rough, flat, intricate places are to be sanded/filled in (Ready Patch) primed and painted / 2 to 3 colors of paint. Fix, cut, replace all noticeable damaged wood, dented molding, and two designated pieces on front and back of house. Anything further upon request. Four payments of $2125 to be made: one at start, one at 1/3 completion, one at 2/3 completion, and final payment upon completion. $8,500 includes all with the exception of additional minor work agreed upon during project. Work has been started all around the house, but there is very little that is completely finished. Claims to have started from the top down, but there is still much work to be done on high sections. Claims frequent health problems keep him from working. I can appreciate that, but since it keeps him from honoring the contract, he should back out of this and let someone else finish the job.
