Gino Ledonne Concrete

Gino is a consummate professional. Is easy to talk to, easy to work with, and a very pleasant man. I greatly appreciate his work ethic, and it is difficult to find such in a human being these days. Those who would rate him poorly for scheduling don't understand the underlying issues with having a business like his. I will definitely refer to him and I already have to date. I look forward to giving him future business. I wish Gim nothing but success in life.

Gino came out for an estimate on pouring some concrete in our pool area. We talked and he took some measurements and said he would get back to me with a price. Approx. 7 to 10 days later I still had not received a quote from him. Normally I would not wait that long for a response but I was extremely busy at work. I called the office and the woman that answered the phone said that she remembered me and she was surprised that he had not gotten in touch with me. She said he would be back in a little while and she would have him call me. That was over a week ago and I never received a phone call back.

He was excellent. He was efficient. From start to finish, he was professional. He had excellent suggestions. He followed up on his work. He was very good. I would definitely hire him again. He was the least expensive among the 6 contractors I've called. I have another property I need to do get some concrete work done so I'll be calling him for an estimate.

Mr. LeDonne set up a 9:30 a.m. (Sunday) appointment the day before to meet me. After waiting 15 minutes past the appointment time and him not showing up or calling, I had to call him. He answered and said he was in Upper St. Clair and would be on his way. He did not apologize or even acknowledge that he had missed the appointment and did not call to either salvage the meeting or reschedule which would have been okay with me as I know things come up. However, his attitude was as if I was inconveniencing him by calling and that I should have just waited all morning for him to show up when it was convenient with his schedule. I too had to travel to the location as I do not live there but I managed to be there on time, in fact, early. He asked if I was going to hang around but I had to go to work and considering the disrespectful treatment, I no longer wanted to entertain doing business with him. I told him no and with that he wished me a good day and abruptly hung up on me. Nice way to treat potential customers. I guess business is pretty good for him to be killing potential work that early in the process...

We love the curved walkway and get lots of compliments. Gino is a very nice man and works hard to please his customer. His price was very good, better than the two other estimates we received.

I emailed Gino to asked if it was to late to lay concrete for my walkway and sidewalk, he emailed me back and asked for my phone number so we could talk about it, but before he called me i called him, he came to give me an estimate on a Sunday which was 2 days after I talked with him and told me in detail what he would be doing. Gino said he would call me the next day with a price and he did, he told me he would call me 2 days before he start the job, which he did.and he started exactly the time that he gave me. Gino was very friendly, polite, organized and professional, also his worker Justine was friendly as well. The job was finish in a day like he said, they did a great job, I was very pleased, i told Gino I don't know if the price was fair or not, because i did not have anything to compare it with, he said it was a good price and I choose to believe him, mainly because of the wonderfull job he did and the kindness he showed me and my mother, I called 2 other contracors during the summer and they never showed up, maybe that was a good thing for me, because Gino did showed up and I don't think I could have gotten anyone better. Thanks again Gino.

Gino came out within a few days to give me an estimate. It was the best estimate I received, and everything Gino told me made sense. I was thrilled that he was able to fit in my job the following week, because one other contractor i contacted had said they were not taking new jobs until February. The job took two days: One to remove the existing concrete and the second to do the new sidewalk. They had to remove three layers of old sidewalk, including one of brick. The only thing that approached being a problem was that they punched a hole in what is an old coal chute in my basement. Thankfully it didn't rain that day, and the next day they fixed it. The sidewalk looks fantastic and I couldn't be happier. Gino came by tonight to explain what he'll do to finish up the job and give me some homework for the spring. i could not be happier with the job Gino and his team did, from the speediness to the quality. I'd definitely use them again and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

The project started and finished on time with excellent results. Absolutely no surprises.

Gino and his crew did a great job. Gino came to our home (on time) to explain the project and quote. He and his crew were on time at the beginning of the project. Gino was very flexible during the project - I decided to install drainage pipes from the rainspouts to the lower part of our property (not part of the project) and Gino had the ditch completed on the first day. He even went to the store to purchase the pipe. At our request, Gino also added a small patio at the steps - again not part of the initial project. The project proceeded on schedule as Gino explained at the beginning. We decided to put a design in the concrete driveway. The first day proceeded as scheduled. On the second day, it rained on and off and the crew had to put the design on the driveway three times because of the rain. But the crew stuck with it and completed the driveway. Gino did a very good job of cleaning up at the end of the project. Gino bent over backwards to work with me and complete added projects not initially part of the project. He and his crew did a great job on all the work. I am very satisfied with all the work done by Gino and his crew. I would highly recommend Gino and his crew for anyone interested in this kind of work. I would not hesitate to use Gino for future projects.

My experience with Gino was very positive. I ended up not using him for the service because some drainage issues on my property need to be addressed first. Gino was very professional and reasonable in his estimate, and I recommend him to others.

The job went great. From start to finish the crew was great to work, with being friendly to my wife and kids. Gino was able to work around our schedules to fit the job in and to complete in a timely manor. The job looks great and we will use him again with new projects in the future. As for price he was one of the cheapest and we would recommend him to others in the future.

We spoke with Gino regarding our badly cracked cement driveway. He discussed all aspects of the plan and presented us with a well delineated contract. He was always calm and professional despite our nervousness as we are not from the area. The weather had been terrible however on the next available days, Gino and his crew came and removed the damaged driveway and set it up, and poured. The entire crew including Gino worked tirelessly. Although all appropriate work plans were obtained we had a small bureaucratic glitch. Gino seamlessly and professionally took care of this issue so we did not have to be concerned. He did a wonderful job, the driveway looks beautiful and creates a wonderful first impression of our home. He is a gentleman and a master craftsman and it has been a pleasure to work with him. Gino responded to our request promptly and came out at 8:15 on a Sunday morning to look at the concrete. My husband had been working late so I talked with Gino about the work we were needing to have done (with a couple of trips upstairs to check on some details). We heard nothing from Gino for three weeks and did not receive a written quote. When I called to follow up, he basically said he didn't want anything to do with us. He claimed to have called us twice but seemed offended that he had to talk to me instead of my husband. All things considered, we're probably better off; if this is how he treats potential customers, imagine what he's like when a contract has been signed.

The job went very well. They started the project pretty close to the time given at the initial meeting, about a 3 week wait. We did uncover some previously unknown piping under the old driveway which required them to cooperate with my plumber to solve the issue. There was a slight adder to the contract cost, but very fair and it didn't slow progress down too bad. Gino is very concerned about the quality of his work and made every effort to make sure we were satisfied. He had enough people and the right equipment on site the day of the pour so all went well. It is impossible to perform this much work in a small yard without making a huge mess. We were impressed with the clean up and effort to make things look like they did before the job was started. The finished product turned out great and we would use Gino again and recommened him to anyone!

Mr. LeDonne did not show up for our scheduled appointment nor did he call to cancel or reschedule.

Started tearing up and hauling away the asphalt on Thursday. Friday they placed the forms, wire mesh, and stones. Saturday they poured the concrete. Approximately four days later, they sealed the concrete. This could not have gone easier!

At first impression, Gino is incredibly professional. He explained in great detail the work that would be preformed and reassured us with any concerns we had regarding the project, scope, and length of time. Rebuilding the wall required heavy equipment and was a complex job. Gino kept in contact with us through each step of the job. Now instead of the old leaning wall, we have a sturdy, beautiful versa-lok wall that will last. The yard was cleaned up nicely.

Gino poured a concrete patio for me that was designed to extend my pool deck. I had 4 estimates provided. Gino was 2nd Lowest of the 4. I picked him because from the second he walked in my back yard, I felt I could trust him. My instincts were corrrect. He told me step by step what he would do and when it came time to do the work he also explained step by step what wasgoing on and anytime he hit the smallest snag, he made sure I was aware. He mad sure that his laborers kept my yard clean and took great care not to damage any existing lawn. Other people had talked about teariing down my fence and that my yard would have visible tire marks from equipment. Gino did this work without any of that and did an amazing job. Even at the emd when I had two questions about the work completed, ( there appeared to be a discoloration in one part of the pation)he took the time to explain everything to me and assured me that when the patio fully dried that what I had thought was discoloration was actually just a spot where the concrete had a little more water and that would be gone in a day or 2. He was right and the patio was perfect. I would not hire anyone else for a concrete job after seeing Gino's work!!

Gino's crew started on a Monday with tearing up the asphalt driveway. Continue on tearing up the old concrete patio. They removed many many dump trucks worth of old material. They started forming up the patio that day. They poured the concrete the next day. When pouring the concrete the next day there was a little to no chance of rain. But we got rain and Ginos crew handled it very professionally and took care of the problems and was able to save the concrete. They continued on pouring the next few days. They came back the following week removed all forms filled in with topsoil along edges of drive. Ginos crew cleaned up all debris and making it look better than when they started.

I was in a pinch to remove and replace a long, wide sidewalk for a tenant who had become wheel chair bound. I called several contractors, but understandably it was the end of the year and the weather was starting to get iffy. To boot, almost ten straight days of rain had everyone behind and scrambling. Understanding the circumstances, Gino said that because it was a one day job he would find a way to fit it in. He was prompt at the initial meeting, providing and estimate, and performing the work. He held to his price and his schedule. Thanks, Gino.

Based on the quality and timeliness of their work, I recommend them highly for hardscape and concrete work. Gino came in on budget and on schedule.

Gino came and provided an estimate in February. I waited until August or so to schedule the job. I didn't hear back from Gino until he called to say they would be at my place the following morning to start demo. His team worked to remove the concrete and build the forms. He used wire mesh in the walkways and, upon request, two rods in the front steps. His crew dumped the dirt from removal where I asked them to in the back yard so I could use it to level off any low spots around the finished concrete. Gino contacted me at work several times since I was not able to be home when the work was performed and we were able to talk through any questions that arose as the job progressed. He offered good advice and listened to my suggestions. I had asked Gino to form up a curb that had crumbled and he stated he would, no problem, but did not take care of it. When they removed the forms, they took two big chunks (approx. 3" in length and 1" wide) out of the sides of the finished walkway which really upset me. I called Gino twice to ask him to please come and repair the chunks - only asking him to reattach them somehow or something similarly easy since I just paid so much money to have the walks redone. He once again stated, no problem, but I have yet to see or hear back from him. Very disappointing. These two issues have tainted my otherwise glowing review of the work. I would advise not paying him the full amount until you verify the work after the forms are removed which is overkill but, evidently, necessary to prevent the scenario I described. UPDATE: Gino did come back out to glue the two chunks onto the sidewalk which was greatly appreciated.

I will recommend Gino Ladonne to anyone that needs concrete work

We interviewed four contractors, all obtained from Angie's List. They all seemed to be very competent and professional. We decided to give the job to Gino Ledonne, and on August 27 we told him so. However, we needed the work to be completed by the first week of October. He assured us he would have it done within the next couple of weeks. Sure enough, he called us on September 3 (Labor Day), and said he could start the job the next day. He and two of his workers arrived promptly at 8:00 am the next day and immediately began to work. The job was completed the following day, September 5, well before the October deadline. Throughout the two days, Gino and his men worked VERY hard. They were very careful and respectful of our plants and all of our property. They worked diligently and quietly (no radios, no shouting back and forth). It was obvious they were experienced in this type of work. We are extremely pleased with the finished product. Our patio looks terrific and it is exactly the way we wanted. We definitely would hire Gino Ledonne Concrete again and we highly recommend them.

We were in no hurry, so Gino was able to schedule the job around my travel schedule as well as his job schedule. Work was completed in two and a half days. The first day old pavers were removed, and several were set aside to use elsewhere in the garden. Forms were set and wire mesh was cut and set in place. The second day, the team poured and finished the job, with Gino spending several hours late in the day exposing the aggregate and sealing it. Gino came back a few days later to back fill any low areas adjacent to the freshly poured walk with soil and compost as well as lawn seed. This guy has clearly been doing this for a long time. No fancy toys, just a good, old fashioned, professional crew that comes in and gets the job done with a minimum of fuss.
