+ -1 moreI cant comment on the quality of his work due to his unresponsiveness. We are moving on and will find someone that handles their business affairs more professionally.
Description of Work: I contacted Gil approximately 6 weeks ago to repair some small items in our home. He stated during our first conversation that he would be on vacation and asked me to call him one week later when he returned. One week later, I called again and was able to set up an appointment. At that time, he asked for me to call him the evening before just to confirm. Already it seemed like a bit of a hassle just to get him to stop by. Gil showed up on time and we discussed what needed to be done. He stated that he charges $30/hr not including cost of supplies and that he was approximately two weeks out for scheduling. I said that would be fine and Gill stated that he would call me. I waited patiently for over a month and decided that I should probably call. I called on two separate occasions, however, he has not returned my call to date. I really wish that I would have read ALL of the responses from the subscribers instead of looking at his overall grades as it seems like there are others out there that have experienced his unresponsiveness. What a complete waste of time. I can not recommend him.

Description of Work: He took down the sink and bathroom cabinet and then repaired the hole left behind. He primed and repainted the bathroom walls and ceiling. He then installed a vanity and mirror in the bathroom. He also put up a towel bar and ring. He also replaced a bathroom light. He then patched and painted the living room and dining room and the main bedroom. He istalled molding and a latch on a bedroom door. He built a closet in the main bathroom. He painted the main bedroom floor. He also replaced a dining room light.

+ 0 moreEvery aspect of the jobs he has done went well. We even hired him to install ape hangers on my husband's motorcycle.
Description of Work: Gil has done several differents jobs for us over the past 3 yrs. As another reviewer said he really is , "A Jack of all Trades." He is very talented, and has saved us money on several jobs be being resourceful. Recently, he installed baseboard in a section of the living room, re-routed a cable tv cable, and installed railing on our small front porch. Last fall, he installed a screen door, steel door, and ceramic tile on a small landing. We had another well rated provider on this list give us an estimated on the baseboard work, cable reroute, hanging 2 basic blinds, and fix sink stopper, and it was over double the price. And he doesn't do railing. Sometime Gil get excessively busy and it takes a while to get booked, but believe me it is well worth the wait! He is an easy-going, pleasant guy, who is professional, and cleans up well after the jobs. We are moving, and sad he will no longer be our go to handyman :(

+ 1 moreGil had done jobs for us last year that we were very happy with. We asked him to do 2 more for us last fall. We never heard from him so this spring we decided to try again. We set up a time for him to come and view the job. Gil never showed and never called us back for 2 months. We thought maybe he had a legitimate reason so we decided to give him one more chance. Silly us. Gil stood us up again. Never bothered to call even though I told him I was rearranging my schedule to meet his. Very rude and unprofessional of him. We had referred him to all of our friends looking for a reliable handyman. We had to call them all and warn them about the and quot;newand quot; Gil. Good luck getting him to show up. Looks like we weren't the only ones to experience this.

+ 2 moreGil was great. When I called him for an estimate he came that same day and gave us a great price. He then ordered some parts we needed and came back the following week to install. In the interim we had bought a new light fixture, and he installed it for us even thought we didn't alert him beforehand. He's very flexible in scheduling and can do late afternoons/evenings if you work during the day. Will definitely call him again.

+ 1 moreEXCELLENT! Gil is very professional and knowledgeable. He can do just about anything. He charges $25/hour, which I consider to be a very reasonable rate for the amount of work he accomplished. I am so pleased that I found a competent handyman who I can call upon to repair things in my 107-year-old home.
Description of Work: Gil repaired three windows and a gate. He will be returning to install two hand rails, kitchen cabinet hinges and a toilet tank. When I purchase a new over-the-range microwave, I will be calling him to install it. (His prices are cheaper than Lowes or Home Depot.)

+ 1 moreBeing new to the area, I didn't know where to look for a trusted handyman. Angie's list has been great, just finding Gil was worth the membership fee.
Description of Work: Gil is a really a good guy. He is mild mannered, easy going, and freindly. He works efficiently, was punctual and, cleaned up after the jobs. He did a teriffic job for us! He painted a bedroom, including the ceiling and trim on the first visit. Second job was to install a new light fixture in dinning room. There was a defect in one of the cords inside the fixture, and Gil was patient enough to look for and fix the problem rather than have us return it to the mfg for a repacement. I was grateful for this as I had ordered it online. His price was what we expected. We plan on having him do some other things for us soon!!

He also did some moving of some trash that I had sitting around. He put it out so the garbage man could take it. He's just a real good guy and I will be using him again for my rental properties.

+ -1 moreHe saved my sink and wsa excellent. He came out to check to make sure he could do it and decided he could take care of it. He called then to let me know when he was coming and his price was very reasonable. He is a sweet fellow.
Description of Work: I had an old porcelain sink and he installed new spickets. The sink was over 100 years old and part of it needed repaired and he took care of that with epoxy.

Description of Work: I needed to have outdoor carpeting put on my back stairs and also needed the backyard light which is on a metal pole repaired. The metal pole had deteriorated.
