We had structural concerns about a home we were considering purchasing. Tim Gerhart did the structural analysis and sent the report in a timely manner on 6/15. The cost was $30 above the quoted price. His report suggested that we run a soil analysis to make a "more accurate conclusion." I contacted him on Monday, 6/18, to inform Tim that we would like him to pursue the soil testing. Tim indicated in his correspondence that the testing would take, "a few days to a week". He told me that he would be out to the house the following day. By Friday, 6/22, I hadn't heard from Gehart Engineering so I contacted Tim. He informed me that he had to obtain another soil sample and the results would be available the following Tuesday on 6/26. Our extended deadline, to respond to the homeowners, was on 6/28. By Tuesday, we hadn't heard from Tim. I made several attempts to contact Tim at both his office and cell contact numbers. No response. Both our agent and the homeowner's agent were getting anxious. I sent Tim an email at 6:46 PM. He finally responded, by email, at 9:53 PM, with the following message, " Sorry, the lab results are not in yet. We will let you know when they do. If you have any questions feel free to call me." The following day, I inform him that we had to respond to the homeowners by Thursday or risk losing our hand money. Needless to say, Thursday came without our soil report. Tim did contact me to say, that in taking the soil sample, he didn't see any issues. He was sorry that the report was not in and stated that lab was slow. We had to proceed with the sale based on his verbal information and without the written report which was a risk. We received the soil analysis on July 2, two weeks after requesting the analysis and four days after our deadline. My husband asked for a partial refund since we were not able to use the information, in the decision to proceed with the sale. Tim refused.
Description of Work: We had Tim Gerhart conduct a structural analysis on a house that we considered purchasing. After he conducted the structrual reveiw, and upon his recommendations, we had Tim run a soil test.
