Had a horrible experience with the Geek Squad. I brought my PC to the Geek Squad because it was not working properly & I HAD A HARDWARE REPAIR CONTRACT WITH THE M. After waiting a week I found it was still sitting in the store. They then sent it to Kentucky to be repaired. After appr 3.5 weeks it was returned. They replaced the mother board and the hard drive. I brought it home and began loading my software and within 15 minutes it began getting the blue screen of death. I returened it to Geek Squad and they told me it was probably my fault. Then I talked with the manager who informed me it was probably a software problem caused when I started to reload my software. I told him he was incorrect so he told me they would diagnose it for around $80+ and if it is hardware it would be fixed again as per my hardware agreement but if it was caused by software I would have to pay for repairs. I was quite upset so the manager said he would diagnosis it for free to determine if it was a hardware or software problem. . They sat onl it for several days even after several of my calls to check the status and finally a geek squad agent told me the hardware was bad and I should replace the PC. When I told him it was still under warranty his whole attitude changed and they then told me it would be returned to Kentucky again for further repairs. FROM THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT TO THE GEEK SQUAD TO BE REPAIRED UNTIL Ii HAD A WORKING PC WAS 41 DAYS. Also I have 2 friends who were ripped off worse than med , I have bought several PCs and TV and other electronic from Best Buy over the years but will never again purchase any major appliance from Best Bu again. I had contemplated to talk with the store owner but my wife told me I would just be wasting my time & just getting more upset because they just don't care. Beware! Another of their tricks is to tell you that you have a virus which is not covered under a software contract and charge a small fortune to fix it. Also during the whole period my inquiry calls would rarely be returned. Horrible ezperience.

I bought a dishwasher from Best Buy on July 4. They had a free installation service as part of the special. The dishwasher was supposed to arrive and be installed in 1 week. I had computer generated call on my phone telling me to call an 800 number (I had to call, there was no way to connect to a live person from there call). I called the 800 number. After going through a series of promts I finally got through to a customer service person. She told me everything was scheduled and that the installation would occur one day after the delivery. The day before the delivery I got another comp[uter genertated call saying that the delivery was scheduled (no mention of the installation). I called the 800 number provided to verify the installation schedule. They said that the installation was not on the schedule and that the next opening for installation wasn't for more than two weeks!. I rescheduled installation for August 5. I called on August 4 and they could not verify that installation would occur on August 5. They told me to call back later that day. They would not call me back. Every time you call you must go through a series of prompts then get put on hold, you get asked for information on the order and nd then get put on hold again. The customer service department is awful. If you ask to speak to a supervisor they hang up on you. This is my second experience with a Best Buyt appliance installation. The last time I ordered a complete new set of appliances for a condo I own, they delivered one day and were supposed to install the next. I waited at the condo all day that the installation was supposed to occur. I called customer service several times and they assured me that the installer would be there but that he was running late. Finallly at 3 PM I asked for the number of the installer. The customer care representative relauctantly gave me the number of the installer. He said that he never planned on doing the installation that day. He said that Best Buy had put it on his schedule and he told them he couldn't do it. He would not be able to do the installatiion for two more days! I cancelled the installation and had another appliance service person I know do the installation the next day. I'll never use Best Buy for installion again.

The Geek Squad at Best Buy at Robinson PA (outside Pittsburgh) is the best all around. They were very punctual and the estimate of time it would take was exactly how long it took. They installed my OnStar mirror and set it up for me. Then when my car manufacturer tried to blame an issue on the OnStar mirror installation (which I already knew was unrelated since the problems occurred prior to the installation), they disconnected it in such a way as to make it very very easy to reconnect and much cheaper. Finally after getting the issues resolved, they reconnected it in no time at all and everything has always worked perfectly with everything they do. I plan to go back to see about getting XM radio installed next. And I know I will get good service and it will not be overpriced.
Description of Work: I first purchased OnStar mirror at BestBuy and the Geek Squad installed it. Later I experienced car issues unrelated, but the manufacturer demanded I disconnect it. The Geek Squad guys temporarily disconnected it and then later reconnected after I resolved the issue with the manufacturer.

Within the warranty period, the Compaq computer was not working properly. I took the laptop back to the store. Their customer service was outstanding and easy to work with. They took back the unit and reimbursed me the amount I had paid. Then, I immediately purchased a Hewlett Packard laptop which cost $50 more than the Compaq. During the purchase of my computers, the salesperson was very in helpful with the information provided. I like the store's promotional approach of receiving points for the dollars spent.
Description of Work: I purchased a new Compaq laptop computer. I did not purchase an additional warranty as I just received the typical warranty on a new product.

VERY PLEASED WITH THE PRICE AND SERVICE OFFERED BY BEST BUY (ROBINSON TOWNSHIP). GOT A GREAT PRICE WITH A $100 REBATE ON A LARGE REFRIGERATOR, AND THE SALESPERSON TOOK TIME TO SET EVERYTHING UP RIGHT, DESPITE THE FACT THAT I ARRIVED TO MAKE THE PURCHASE ONLY MINUTES BEFORE THE STORE CLOSED. DELIVERY WAS LIKEWISE TOP-NOTCH, WITH A TWO-MAN CREW SHOWING UP PROMPTLY (MAYBE TOO PROMPTLY, SINCE WE WERE FIRST ON THE SCHEDULE AT 7 AM!), AND GIVING US A COURTESY CALL 25 MINUTES BEFORE ARRIVAL SO WE COULD EMPTY THE OLD REFRIGERATOR. DELIVERY MEN WERE COURTEOUS, AND PAID ATTENTION TO DETAIL, MAKING SURE NOT TO DAMAGE FLOORS, WALLS, ETC. ALSO DEMONSTRATED CARE IN PARKING THE TRUCK, ENSURING THAT THEY DIDN'T DAMAGE LAWN. VERY FRIENDLY. NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL, WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN -- AND DID, WHEN I PURCHASED A RANGE AND MICROWAVE A FEW WEEKS LATER.

BEST BUY WAS POLITE, AND WENT ALONG WITH EVERYTHING THEY AGREED TO IN THE SERVICE PLAN. BEST BUY'S SERVICE PLAN WAS REASONABLY PRICED.
