We were looking at a property to purchase. We were aware that the home in question had some structural issues. The inspection and report completed by Gary Miller's team indicated that this home was structurally compromised to a far greater degree than we anticipated . Due to this report's findings we have decided to withdraw our offer. This report will be forwarded to the seller and will await his and await his response. Thanks to Gary Miller and his team we have decided to hold off on any other additional costs we would have incurred throughout this phase of the pre-purchase process.

Gary did a great job. When he first arrived, we got the impression of a gruff, businesslike engineer, which might be offputting to some, but which I appreciated. When we went over the inspection results, though, he was warm, charming and a great guy. He definitely gave the impression of competence, and probably saved us from doing a lot of expensive and unnecessary work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

I had Mr. Miller inspect a property that has some foundation issues. He arrived at the agreed upon time, explained during the inspection what was happening with the foundation and provided a written report within one week detailing his findings and the recommended remedy.

Once more...Gary J. Miller, Structural Engineer, signed attested in the report given to me that he himself came here to my home and personally inspected the structure. H did not. Instead, he sent a man named Joe here to take pictures. Gary then formulated his opinion based on those pictures. Last week I called Gary and asked him if he would come over here himself just so that we can be sure of no structural damage before moving ahead with waterproofing project. I even offered him more money to do what he was supposed to do in the first place, he agreed to come over for $150.00. The next morning I received a text from him letting me know that "they" reviewed the 1sr report (basically the photos and Joe's opinion. (not a licensed structural engineer) and informing me that he was sticking with the previous report and was not coming to our appointment at 10:00 a.m. that morning. I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS GUY. BUYER BEWARE

Very knowledgeable of his profession

I am remodeling my house and we changed our plans so we had to remove a wall. I am an EE and have been a consulting engineer myself, so I am always aware of the limits of my knowledge. I was pretty sure The wall in question was non-load bearing, but wanted to verify. Knowing my fees in the past, I understood this was not a trivial request. I sent a rather confused request to Gary, lots of things happening as I sat down to contact him. After reviewing it, I thought I am going to have to call him after that one. He called me the next morning. He was courteous and wanted to make sure I needed his services. We talked for a full 5 or 10 minutes, during which there was no impatience or feeling he wanted to get off the phone. He asked me several questions, and re-asked them in different ways when my answer confused him. (Most clients don't understand the importance of this. When an engineer re-asks a question, they are verifying information because frankly words are not the best means of sharing information. That's why engineers of all types like diagrams and illustrations.) Once I was done describing the situation and he was confident the information was correct, he told me the wall was not load-bearing. Gary showed courteous behavior even as he suspected he was going to end up without a fee, which he did graciously. Gary was thorough in his questioning, not dismissive. He resolved my question. He showed me all the required attributes of a great consulting engineer: patience with the customer, knowledge, thoroughness, and attention to relevant detail. Yes, I would contact him again and pay his fees if I have need in the future and refer, with confidence, any friend or colleague to him.

Gary had a flexible appointment schedule. He was on time and explain the process. He gave me some great professional and personal advice. High recommended!!!! James
