Ed was a pleasure to work with, always friendly, calm, and ready to listen to my ideas about the project. He did an excellent job of building the patio and the walls, no technical flaws. He cut the bluestone for the patio to fit the pattern that I wanted, and did a good aesthetic job with choosing which stones went where in all of the work. He was quite willing to help out with the occasional extra like helping me get a maple tree out of my car and up the steep drive to the yard.

He was very helpful in evaluation a job that we had had done. He was very supportive. He really knows his business. He brought his equipment with him as well. He also drew a picture of where our floor was off. He was helpful that way too. He was very prompt and cooperative on the spot.

Ed was recommended by the Stone supplier. His price was not the lowest; he was somewhere in the middle of all estimates received. One contractor would not even take the job; it was too difficult. The work was somewhat complex due to the height of the wall, as well as the curvature involved. The flagstone work on the patio was also complex because the patio is a semi-circle shape, which adds a challenge in shaping and laying the flagstones. Ed's work was slow, but very methodical. He was very precise, and cut each and every stone. It took him several weeks to complete the job. But the result is beautiful. I will add photos -- The retaining wall that was rebuilt looks as though it is original. Ed did an excellent job of matching the stone work to mimic the original wall, as well as the other stone work throughout the back yard. And the flagstone patio is just lovely; everyone comments on how nice it looks. We now spend quite a bit of time on the patio in the summer and enjoy Ed's work very much! We wish every contractor was as precise and thorough as Ed!
