Ed Lampl - Environmental & Home Inspections

One of the best companies I have ever used from Angie's List. Ed performed a weekend home, pest and radon inspection for a home recently purchased as part of a relocation. Ed was easy to contact and stay in touch with via email which was important since I was out of state at the time I coordinated his services. Ed's inspection output was very very detailed and pickup up things I expect most others would miss. Even the Seller was impressed with his interaction and professionalism during the visit.

Ed was on time & very thorough. He was inspecting a single family home that I wanted to purchase. He took me step by step over his findings & gave me valuable insight. He even stayed longer to address my questions & to provide contractors who could follow up with work need in the future. Report was ready before left. Same day.

Ed was at the property early with his own lock box entry system which helps with not having to coordinate with a realtor. He was extremely professional giving me that actual facts and not sugar coating anything which was extremely helpful. He would examine an area of the house and then go back to log his findings in his computer that he had on site to generate the full report at the end of the day. He would then take the time to walk me through what he had just evaluated and explain in detail what was going on. I have a solid background in home improvements and feel that anyone that does not would still walk away confident in understanding his explanations. Ed did not cut any corners and even went above and beyond what other inspectors I have hired do. Ed really cares about the customer first and foremost and I would strongly recommend him to anybody that asked. I walked away from my inspection with about 75 photos, a comprehensive report and a CD with all of his finding loaded on the disc, as well as him taking the time to put things in a priority things to do list for me. I know that I have a lot of work ahead for myself with my solid as is purchase but am 100 times more confident now that Ed completed my home inspection. Highly recommended

Ed provided a thorough home inspection which lasted approximately four hours and provided a property.

I called Ed late in the week and explained that because of schedule constraints and timing, I really needed to find someone that could fit us in on Saturday or Sunday. He quickly made a Sunday appointment for us, explaining that he simply charged an extra $35.00 fee for a weekend appointment. I gladly agreed to this, and was thankful he could fit us in so soon. Ed arrived at the home on Sunday before we did, however he was having trouble getting his MLS lockbox key to work. Since the sellers had arranged not to be there during our inspection, we ultimately had to contact the realtors and have the seller's realtor come and let us in. Once we got inside the home, his inspection seemed thorough, he took time to explain things to us, and point out and recommend things along the way. I must also mention that because of the seller's very small children's nap schedule, we were on a bit of a time crunch, as it was preferred we could be done at the house by noon, which only allowed us 3 hours. Ed mentioned that he likes to be very thorough and take as long as necessary, and didn't like being under a time constraint. He was able to move quickly, and because the home was in very good condition, we were able to be done prior to noon. Once the inspection was completed, he prepared the reports right on the spot, and e-mailed us the reports and photos - also provided us a burned disc of these items. He explained that the Radon Test would need to be left at the residence for at least 48 hours, and that he would arrange to return and pick it up. Also, because the roof was covered in snow, he did not get to visually inspect it, but mentioned that when he picked up the Radon Test results, he would also take a look at the roof and let me know what he found. After a bit of miscommunication about when to return and get the results for radon, Ed made sure to come get the results of the test at a time that was convenient to the sellers and my realtor, and then promptly reported his findings to us. I appreciate his understanding of our time constraints and promptness in getting all results to us. I did not, however, get any word on the roof or whether he was able to look at it. Overall, I am pleased with Ed's service and would recommend him to others.

This event was a total success and could not have been better. Fantastic ! Arrives on time and ready to work! Mr. Lampl arrived on time and was professional and first class all the way: vehicle and equipment was new and clean; his jacket had the company name; the ladders and tools were clean and calibrated; the digital camera and computer set up with internet access by cell phone allowed him to produce a complete report on the spot. When finished the report was e-mailed to the locations I requested and everything was also down loaded to my jump drive at my request. He insisted I follow him throughout the evaluation pointing out problems with the property AND ALSO maintenance tips and upgrades should I purchase the property. Even though there was still some snow on the roof and a light rain, he put the ladder up and climbed onto the roof and walked all over to inspect it, the flashing, etc. The inspection was not rushed, but it was a well organized review of the total property and contents. I don't think anything was missed or over looked in any way.

Ed scheduled the tests the same week that I called him. He immediately got in contact with my Realtor to get permission to gain entrance to the house. Ed has an electronic lock box key and did not need to be let in-really convenient. The day after I called him, he went to the house to get the Radon test initiated, so that he could have the test completed on the same day as the home and pest inspection. Ed invited my Realtor and I to accompany him while he performed the inspection. I have accompanied an inspector during a home inspection before, although it was twenty years ago, and Ed was meticulous in his inspection. He examined every component, made voice notes detailing everything that he looked at, pointed out what maintenance was required, discovered a mold problem and detailed what was necessary to re-mediate the problem. He explained how I should do it, even though he's in the business of fixing problems such as this. Once done, he produced a very detailed report and had emailed it to me by the time that I got home. As I saw it, he missed nothing and pointed out things that I missed, even though I have owned a house for over thirty years and perform most of my own maintenance. I definitely recommend Ed.

Mr. Ed Lampl already had a well-deserved excellent rating on Angie's List, which is how we found him. He arrived exactly on time, he evaluated the entire house, in particular listening to our concerns. He suggested a testing plan that was "right-sized" for us - mindful of cost, yet also mindful of the need to to do the job right. He then performed the test, which involved sampling air outside (1 test) and sampling inside at the correct points. He carefully tracked and labeled the sample units, and completed the testing very professionally. During the process Ed also asked a lot of questions and provided a lot of advice and home inspection and home quality consulting. He is very experienced and has a lot of knowledge that he shares very willingly. Ed also was able to expedite the tests so that the lab had them and could return our results quickly. When they were ready, we received an email with the results laid out in text and tables, and Ed called to ask if we wanted to discuss them or had any other questions. This was a very good experience, both in seeing that the job was done correctly and the resulting information was provided expertly. Ed has a lot of knowledge to share. We would use him again and recommend his work to others.

Ed was extremely responsive and knowledgeable on the issue of mold. He explains the results, steps to fix the problem, and then verifies the results. He is diligent with his work and wants the best results for his clients. I appreciated his candidness.

The inspection went well. Homesplusisus was prompt and courteous. The testing was completed and reports generated quickly. The reports were informative and useful in purchasing the property. I would use Homesplusisus again and recommend their services.

The categorization of Home Inspection is misleading. I called him asking to perform a general inspection of my attic area for water damage that may have occurred from a leaking roof and all he wanted to do was push mold testing on me. He then emailed me literature for Radon testing as well. In other words, he was not listening to me. He may be very good at mold testing and removal, but I called for home inspection.

Ed was early, courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. He was also thorough and knew how to deal with a cranky seller, who was at the inspection. I believe that Ed's abilty to read the seller and offer information to him really helped to seal the deal. Ed walked my fiancee' around and discussed the various parts of the inspection, then as he finished a section, he would take a break to record very detailed info using efficient technology to keep this step accurate and detailed. We left with a cd of the findings and report, as well as 130 photos. These were given to me on cd and emailed to e via a Picasso account, which allowed me to share this with our families easily. Ed is first rate!

Ed was extremely thorough and provided us with a report at the end of the inspection, complete with 85 photos of what he had looked at. As first time home buyers, we really appreciated his detailed assessment of the house and the tips he gave us to keep things in good shape. He was also realistic, understanding that the 111 year old house that we are buying wouldn't be perfect and telling us what he thought would be a deal-breaker and what he thought was okay in a house of this age. After the inspection was complete, he went above and beyond and made a second trip to the house on a Saturday to inspect a sump pump that had been hidden by the current owners junk. Overall, I would definitely recommend Ed!

The inspection was very informative and I was extremely pleased with the work the Mr. Lampl performed. I feel he exceeded my expectations in providing me information about how the home and it's ancillary systems work. Specifically, he did not shy away from taking a good look at some of the areas of the house, like getting onto the roof or climbing into the attic, and he was able to answer my questions in a way that I could understand being a first time home buyer. He was very thorough and did not look over anything that could be a potential safety hazard for my family. He provided improvement and maintenance tips, and was available to answer a few questions I had about the results a few days after the inspection was over with. My experience with Home Plus was outstanding. Mr. Lampl showed up on time and took me through the house as he meticulously inspected it. As we toured the house, Mr. Lampl explained in detail all of the problems he saw, and his recommended method of remedying the problems At one point, Mr. Lampl noticed that some sort of release pipe was missing from the hot water heater. With the home owner's permission, he went to his truck, got the appropriate pipe and fixed the problem---at no charge. I never could have expected such dedication to ensuring my family's safety. Mr. Lampl used voice recognition software to draft his report throughout the day. As a result, he was able to email me the preliminary inspection (excluding mold and radon testing) while we were still in the house. Moreover, Mr. Lampl took nearly 200 photographs of the home as he conducted his inspection, which he emailed to me and burned to a CD while we were still in the home. The entire inspection process took about 6.5 hours, which only shows the care and thoroughness of his work. In the end, I would highly recommend HomePlusIsUs to anyone who is moving. Mr. Lampl's service was simply stellar.

Ed Lampl was on time, spent 3 hours doing the inspection. He was very through. He explained his findings and provided an immediate detailed report and 90 photos.

I would have paid for the testing, but he gave me some simple advice and some steps that I could take myself that wouldn't cost me a dime. It is refreshing to find someone not out to make a quick buck.

The owner, himself, did the assessment and made excellent suggestions for remediation. He explained and clarified and went out of his way to be sure I understood what the procedures for remediation entailed. He also adjusted his schedule to accomodate my needs as well as the contractor's schedule. He obviously is knowledgable in many aspects of residential and commercial inspections and sales and offered suggestions that have been so beneficial in preparing the property for sale. He was punctual, efficient, and professional. I plan on using him in again, for issues relating to air pollution as well as for home inspections.

Ed came to my house a couple hours after I called him for a mold test. He explained how he did the test using his quality tools and was very detailed. He?s not only professional, but also genuinely concerned for my family?s well being. He even pointed out an electrical problem on my neighbor's house to my neighbor while Ed and I were talking in my driveway. They were very professional, very good. Their availability stood out to me. Ed, the owner and inspector, came out on a Sunday in a snow storm. He was very professional, patient, explained everything he was doing and he had the latest technology. He was very good and as far as pricing I would say he was in par with everyone else.

I first spoke to Ed Lampl on the phone, I am pregnant and was concerned about mold and lead in my home. Ed was so helpful in putting my fears to rest, he offered much additional information over the phone including facts and tips. When Ed came out to do the 3rd party clearance for our mold remediation, he was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and overall very pleasant. In addition to collecting the samples for the mold remediation, he took a look at a few other things around the house that we were concerned about and gave us his opinion and tips.
