Dun-Rite Window and Door

Dun-Rite provided an estimate on a main door and storm door back in December. Through a series of weather-related problems, the doors were finally installed on April 13th. Dun-Rite showed great patience with us for the issues we had that delayed the job, and worked with our time schedule. The installers communicated well, were on time the day of installation, and seem to have done a quality job. I personally was not home for the job, but when I arrived, it was hard to tell anyone had been there, i.e. they had cleaned up very well after themselves. This fact goes a long way with me. Throughout the whole process, Dino was very polite and professional. Overall, Dun-Rite did a great job.

Everything was excellent. They were great to work with. They were on time and very easy to work with. When I had a minor problem a year later, they came back and fixed it right away.

The company sent in their representative on March 11 to give the estimate for the replacement of four windows. Within three weeks they were here to be installed..John and John were very polite and well trained. They proformed the work and cleaned up all within three and half hours. I'm very pleased with the craftmanship of the windows and how neat the work men were. Would definately use this company again

I couldn?t find anyone else who would do this; everyone else told me I had to replace the whole door. I like their honesty, the speed in which they are getting the job done, and the price. It took him a little bit of time getting back to me initially but it was because he was out of time. He called this morning, came today, and called not long after he left to say they?ll do the work on Friday.

They were punctual and courteous. Dino stopped by to see how things were going. Overall, it was a very good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. The only problem was they forgot to leave my pet door which I'll have to replace.

I was happy with them. They were much less expensive than other companies. The quality of their windows is comparable and they are local to Pittsburgh. He was able to come out within about two weeks. The other two companies I contacted did not offer to do the repair. I have recommended them.

This is the second time I have used Dun Rite and both times I have been very satisfied with the windows and the service. Dino and his staff are always very prompt, courteous and professional.

Overall it went very well. Dino was professional, friendly and helpful. He worked with us to give us some options and responded well when we made some small last minute changes. John and John installed the nine vinyl windows and Phill installed the glass block windows. The initial quality of the vinyl windows is very good (VinylMax brand). The glass block window is terrific. The installers moved furniture and were respectful of the home. One minor criticism is that they could have cleaned off more of the the dust and grit from a couple of surfaces at the end. Thanks again to Dun Rite.

It is over 2 months after they came to our house and I still have not received the estimate.

I emailed them and they got back to me the same day. They came out a couple of days later and gave me an estimate and told me they would call me to setup an appointment to replace the window. They called me a few days later and setup an appointment for later in the week. They arrived on time, did the work quickly and professionally and for the amount agreed. Very happy with all aspects of the experience.

The owner was very good. I couldn't make decisions between different types of windows. He had to come out two or three times to show me different samples. He still didn't quit on me. He sent the worker out to take a look at the job to see how hard it would be. My house is crooked, so it wasn't a simple installation.

They were very professional, and their price was quite reasonable. They came the same day that I called them and took the screen door off, and brought it back 3 days later and installed it. The experience was wonderful.

Dino returned my call promptly and set up a time to visit. He arrived on time, and evaluated the windows. We determined the style of window and he called various companies trying to find someone who deals with that kind of window. He suggested that I discover the builder of the house because the windows would be on warranty. He offered other advice and because he could not just replace the glass and seal, he was unable to fix my problem. His ideas helped me to find the answer to my window problem. Dino was professional and seemed to know his business. He did not tell me he could fix my problem when he couldn't. I would use this company if I was able.

Dino came and gave us an estimate. His estimate was about half of what a competitor wanted. Once we decided to go with Dun-rite, they came to install the windows as soon as they were available. Installation only took about 4 hours for all 5 windows. The installation crew was pleasant and polite. One area where they can improve is the clean up. There was still some broken glass in my basement from taking out the old glass block windows.

Everything about Dino's company is as he represented it. The estimate meeting was punctual and to the point. The installation was rescheduled once by us and once by Dino due to a crew sickness. In both cases he communicated very well and the re-committed schedule was followed perfectly. The work done was professional and neat and the crew left the premises as they found it, maybe better. Both of the crew, John & John, were very courteous, friendly and respectful of our home. The windows were well constructed, attractive and have made a very noticeable difference reducing drafts and making the house seem warmer at the same temperature setting. Best for last, we received bids as high as $22,000 for this job. Dino came in under $6,000... priceless!

It was good. They came out and measured and said it'd be about 4 weeks, which it was. They installed them and the quality was good. The price was better than anybody else.

I called the company and spoke with Dino about my interest for replacement windows. He was very personable and made arrangements to come to my home within 3 days of our phone discussion. He arrived promptly and gave a thorough description of the windows they would install and detailed the work involved, stating it would take 1 - 2 days. I told him I would like to have them installed in 5 weeks when I would be home on vacation and he said they would be able to accommodate me. My home is 50+ years old (built by the original owners) and when measuring the windows Dino noticed that removing the old windows might present a challenge because of the way the inside molding was attached to the window. He said he wanted one of his installers to take a look at them before ordering the windows to ensure the work was done properly and allow the installer to assess the job. The installer was also very prompt and courteous. He remeasured the windows and confirmed the job would take 2 days. The windows were ready to be installed when promised and the installers were prompt each day. The job took 2 days without incident. They were very careful around the house and cleaned up after installing the windows in each room. One installer pointed out a hairline crack in the molding that occurred when removing it to take out the old window, which due to the condition of the wood didn't surprise me, and a chip in a painted radiator in one bedroom that occurred during the work. To me they were very minor, but was impressed that he mentioned them to me. I intend to use the company again next year when I have two main entry doors replaced. Another thing that impressed me about Dino is that he offered the Angie's List coupon right away as soon as he heard that I used the list to determine who I would consider for the job - I didn't have to ask for the discount!

Dino came out within a few days of our call and talked to us about the various options we were considering to reduce drafts in the house. He clearly explained Dunrite's pricing. He was flexible and did not give us a "hard sell." We put down a 25% deposit for the windows we decided to have them make. The windows were completed in a very reasonable time frame. The quality of the windows themselves and the installation was excellent.

Dino returned my call within 24 hours. We scheduled an estimate for within a week. Dino was very professional and prompt. He was the only company out of 3 to provide an actual sample window so I could actually touch what I was ordering. We decided to go with Dun-Rite based on lowest estimate, in addition to, reviews on Angie's List. Once ordered, the windows took approximately 4 weeks to come in. The work began shortly thereafter. Leo and Keri were our installers. They were also professional, prompt and courteous. They did a great job installing even when they came across unanticipated obstacles (which there were a few; apparently the last windows installed were not done properly). I would definitely recommend this company again.

We were reluctant to replace our original wood windows and were happy to find Dun-rite windows company. Dino was very responsive to our initial call for an estimate and has consistently responded promptly to phone calls. Once we placed our order, they have worked with us to time removal of old storms and placement of new storms around the work of exterior painters. During installation, they discovered problems with two of the storm windows, but Dino quickly addressed the problem and re-ordered the needed items. We have been very happy with their work.

My Dun-Rite experience did not start smoothly, with Dino showing up late for our initial appointment. Luckily this was the only snag in the whole process. On his first visit, we talked about the kind of storm windows I wanted, color, etc. He quoted me a price that day and, being satisfied with that number, I have him the go-ahead to order them. My windows were ready more than two weeks before the initial date he quoted me, which was also a week or so before I had the money for them! Dun-Rite was great about this. They held on to the windows until my loan was approved and installed them quickly once I had the money. They did all the work when I was not at home. It initially made me very nervous, but I came home and my house looked brand new! The windows looked gorgeous! They also made a huge difference in the draftiness of my 1927 house last winter. Overall, I couldn't have been happier with the whole process. The windows are well-made, the installation was smooth, and the price was great. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still pick Dun-Rite to do the job.
