Dave was prompt, professional and detail oriented. The 20x40' area (roughly 3.5' deep) had to be removed from my yard and Dave made sure to minimize impact as much as possible. The finished work has a slight grade away from my house which has helped reduce water flow toward my basement. Dave is busy (good people are) and I do recommend being patient setting up the first site visit and quote. The wait is worth it.

We hired Dave to rebuild a wall for us years ago. I love that wall 6 years later, it looks great! This time Dave excavated a broken cement patio and installed grass. A TON of work and not an easy job. Dave brings alot of integrity to his work, he truly cares to get it right and really takes pride in his work. I always feel comfortable that I will get what Dave promises. Thanks Dave! I love my new yard!

Dave was very responsive to our request for a bid. His bid was competitive with other bids that we received for the job. We decided to go with him because we liked the overall solution he proposed and he seemed to be an honest and trustworthy guy. He and his workers showed up each day. They took care to minimize disturbing / destroying our yard and current landscaping. Dave graded our yard and installed a catch basin on the side of the house and installed a drainage system around our patio and back yard. He took care to ensure the grading was correct and the water would flow to the drains. The drains around the patio were set in a concrete aggregate and actually enhances the look of the patio. He reseeded the yard in the areas that were disturbed. We highly recommend Dave. We would use Dave again.

Dave was very responsive to my request for a bid. Unfortunately we had some inside water problems and had to put the job off for a year while restoration work was done. When I called him back in the spring, he still had my paperwork and honored the original bid. He and his workers showed up promptly every day and worked constantly. They dismantled and carted away the old cement block wall which was crumbling, and installed a beautiful Versa Lock wall, and reseeded and put additional top soil on the damaged lawns on both our and my neighbor's lawns. He took care while working around the existing flower beds, and even managed to avoid my neighbor's Invisible Fence which was installed close to the original wall, as well as managed to locate and protect our Verizon Fios line which was installed close the the original wall (even though after 2 calls to 811, Verizon insisted there was no line in the area he was working on. Verizon never visited the site, and never marked the line with flags.) Dave went above and beyond to locate the wire, carefully dig it up, and protect it from the excavation machinery. The entire project was done in 5 1/2 days. He cleaned up and power washed our driveway where all the equipment, fill, gravel, block, etc.was temporarily housed. We are very happy with the results and Dave and his crew were very easy to work with. Dave was on site himself every day. I would recommend him to anyone for this type of work, and will consider him when we replace our driveway (hopefully not for a few more years!)

Can't say enough good about this company.... It is true that Dave is on site everyday because he does the work along with other members of his crew.. first of all they are polite and trustworthy. second we feel their price is absolutely fair for the work that was done because we had five separate estimates and his was actually the most accurate with respect to the actual problems that needed to be corrected and the dollar amount that he charged to perform the work. this job took him two weeks to do and I would like to note that they worked through that 95 + degree heat that we had in the general Pittsburgh area over the past two weeks. They never missed a day and there was no loafing on the job. He actually showed us the problems that he uncovered as they dug around the house and detected the disconnected downspouts and the ruptured pipes. In addition to this type of work he also does Landscaping. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anybody who needed this kind of work done.

It was a very big job which took approximately 5 1/2 days. Dave did an excellent job, worked very efficiently, and very meticulous in cleaning up and restoring the areas which had been dug up. We were especially pleased with his restoring an omni stone padio which had to be torn up to get to pipes underneath. He and his worker spent a lot of time making sure the stones were perfectly placed and level. The padio had never looked as nice as when they were finished. Overall, we would recommend DC Contracting and will use him again.

We got several quotes from various contractors, but DC's level of detail is what stood out the most. I knew exactly what he was doing to do, what materials he was going to use to accomplish, and an exact quote. Agreed to the quote and waited to be put on the schedule. Was informed of when the work was to be completed and he and his team finished in a couple days. They were very careful to not damage other areas of the yard. We had a heavy rain the one day and they still did an excellent job avoiding ripping up areas. The work looks great and professional and dealing him and his team was a treat. No surprises, exactly what was described in the quote was done and I did not need to remind him of anything. High attention to detail and would work with his team in the future.

Dave was fabulous. Would refer him and hire him again!!! I couldn't have asked for more.

The job went well. Very happy with the work done. I get lots of compliments. He works during the day so sometimes if you can't take a late night call it will be a few days before he can call you.

DC Contracting came out and removed the stairs, set up the forms and did a great job overall. After they were finished they did a very good job of cleaning up the site. They were professional and worked hard. They came when they said they would and finished when they said they would. We were very satisfied with the job. We'd hire them again.

This project went very well. I was really surprised with the amount of work that went into it. I knew that they were going to have to excavate the slope behind where the wall was going to be, but I didn't expect that it would be that much. I was then very impressed with how quickly the project took shape. Dave and the crew took a lot of time getting everything level and straight and then the wall and patio just grew. When they were finished everything was cleaned up and grass was replanted. After it was all over, my wife and I were both very satisfied with quality of the work that was done.

Tremendously. I've had this gravel driveway done several times over the years and DC did the best job by far. Perfect edges. Nice and thick with a very even spread of material. The wall was removed without any trampling of the ground cover in front of it. I'm a little shocked to be honest. Kind of like the wall just disappeared. Pretty funny actually. Lastly, it wasn't in the contract but Dave added some mulch to even out the soil where the wall stood. Just great work with detail I didn't expect. Would definitely hire again.

I couldn't be more pleased. I got 3 quotes from Angies List listed contractors of A rating only. My most expensive bid was 5K higher than DC and I was being asked what to do, rather than being instructed on what should be done. I went with DC because their bid was the most descriptive and they responded in a timely manor. Dave described to me what I needed to do with the city for permitting and followed up with me on it. His crew arrived and got to work right away and within 1 day we saw huge progress. They worked without bringing up any issues that would cost more money (isn't that a first) and did first class workmanship. As someone who is in the architecture/construction field I was really greatly impressed with the final results and have recommended them to coworkers. I am so so happy and was ensured this wall will last the rest of my life.

D C Contracting & Landscaping LLC had done work in the past for us, about five years ago. That involved two retaining walls and steps.Those two walls have held up beautifully. When another retaining wall started to lean, we called David to put in a new retaining wall. This new wall required involving my neighbors yard so special care was taken to keep them appraised of all work. David called three days in advance, and he and his crew arrived on April 6 to start the excavation. They removed existing old fencing, vines, bushes and a small tree. We chose the same Versa-lok pattern and color as the older wall. They did a wonderful job of putting the corner of the older wall and the new wall together. The length of wall was approximately 40 feet with lower section 2 feet height to about 3 feet height to meet the older wall. The job took about seven days, but we had about a day and half of rain which delayed work. David and his crew made sure my neighbors section that abutted my wall was landscaped and added mulch. The neighbor was very pleased with the outcome. They did wonderful job of cleaning up and removing all debris. David and his crew were very detailed and exact when installing the Versa-lok. We would recommend them highly.

They were very professional, courteous and knew exactly what had to be done. They cleaned up at the end of each day and at the end of the job the driveway was pressure washed and mulch was placed where the bushes were taken out. I would highly recommend DC Contracting and Landscaping for any type of construction and landscaping service.

Everything was well thought out and was completed in estimated time--three weeks. The design layout of the Versa-Loc has made my patio look larger. I get many compliments on the design and workmanship.

We got 4 estimates for French drain installation-exterior and we went with Dave. His price was reasonable and he is very likeable. Dave and his 2 crew men did an excellent job. They were professional and worked diligently for 3 days, however, on the last day it started to rain, they still showed up and tried to work, but had to call it off. Dave reconfigured the dryer vent - he added an extension to the low lying dryer vent and attached it to the brick wall. It looks artistic. Once the pipes were installed and covered with fabric, they spread topsoil and grass seeds and mushroom manure on areas that they worked on AND beyond. There was a sad patch of grass by the driveway that the crew was kind enough to add topsoil and grass seeds. Also, they had to haul some plants and shrubs with Dave's permission I added some of my yard debris onto the truck to be hauled away. Upon my request, the crew neatly piled the leftover topsoil and mushroom manure and the side of the driveway . After an exhausting day, they did a very nice job cleaning up. One crew member was very thorough in washing/cleaning the long driveway. I would hire D.C. Contracting and Landscaping again.

exceptional stone work. Dale has perfomed many jobs for us, and his work is really that of a craftsman.

I have used D.C. Contrcting in the past and called them to re-do my stone driveway. They dug out and re-graded the driveway to provide better drainage. A filter fabric was layered on the bed of the driveway, and 3 sizes of stone were used to fill in the driveway. They took great care to not disturb surrounding areas and cleaned up all debris before they left. They planted new grass on the sides of the driveway where they had to dig. I was very happy with the job they did, and I'd call Dave again for any outside work I needed done. They obviously take pride in the jobs they do.
