Overall it went fine. They explained to me and I checked it out that it was an unsafe panel box. After they came out the price jumped to almost $1300. That was all acceptable and I understood that. After they were done with the initial putting it in, they were supposed to have the electrical box inspected. What had happened was that they neglected to do that. One month had gone by and I called them up. I asked where the inspector to inspect this electrical box was. They told me that they forget but they did send an inspector to inspect the electrical box after I had called. They had it inspected. They came out and did the work in September 2011 when I had the work scheduled. They didn’t come and do the final inspection until April of the following year. I thought they did a good job. I appreciated all the work, it’s just that for some reason the very finish of the job, I fell through the cracks. I would say that their price was comparable.

Good to deal with for this job. The workers were professional, performed the exact work I requested, in the amount of time (roughly 4 hours) that they said they would, and the bill was what I expected.

A date was set up for an estimate and they called fifteen minutes before scheduled time and cancelled. We set up another date but they did not call before the scheduled time and did not call to give an explanation.

It is going well, they are very responsive and good to work with. I would use them for additional work we have.

He was very informative and personable. I did ask for a follow-up estimate for some things that I wanted done at my house and I thought the estimate was quite high and I ended up not using their services again.

Chris returned my call immediately and we met at the location where the work was to take place. After showing Chris what I needed, he showed me his pricing out of a book his company uses to gauge and estimate the cost of work. I agreed to it and he started within the next few days. He completed everything I wanted and even fixed a few lights that were hung incorrectly from another electrician. He was wonderful, professional and his work was perfection. There were a few rooms that had the old knob and tube/ gas connection in the ceiling and even though it was a bit challenging to make the chandelier perfectly fitted to the ceiling and where all the other electricians would say that there was nothing they could do to make it hang correctly, Chris came up with a solution and made it work. I was very impressed. He could have just given in like the rest of them, but he actually put effort into it and went out of his way and made it work. Who does that now-a-days???? Also, the price was exactly what he quoted and not a penny more. Another shock! I will absolutely be using this company hence forth for any of my electrical needs. This is a business that cares about their reputation and one that looks at the big picture rather than the moment and I predict that they will remain in business for a very long time.

This experience had a rough start but in the end was a satisfying project completion. The employee who scheduled my appointment took my phone number down incorrectly. When another job came up and the company was overloaded with project work they called me twice and left voicemail to let me know they would not be able to do my estimate/work on the scheduled date. Unfortunately since it was the wrong number I was not aware and continued to take the day off work. After a no show I called CW Electric to inquire what happened and Dan explained to me the mistake and apologized. Dan went out of his way to accommodate me and make up for the mix-up. He sent someone out to my house Friday after hours to provide an estimate. I was given a ballpark estimate in person after the walkthrough was completed and told it would be emailed to me Monday. However I did not receive my emailed estimate for over a week and 2 phone calls later. When I did receive the estimate it was about $500 higher than originally quoted. Additionally there was a $39.99 travel mileage charge tacked on. I live 4 miles away. When I called to review the estimate, CW was willing to work with me on the estimate to get it back to the original amount I was quoted and also advised they would waive the $39.99 travel charge due to my close proximity. I was pleased and scheduled the work to be done the next day. As for the workers, they arrived on time, did a great job and completed in a reasonable amount of time. Very friendly and willing to explain to me what was to be done and consult with me on any changes. However at the end, again the travel fee was tacked on and I was charged the $39.99 extra. That travel fee may be the decision maker for me in the future when considering other estimates. All in all, CW Electric is a reputable company with a solid history of experience and professional grade work. They are BBB Certified and highly regarded as one of the best local companies with a great warranty backing.

Wonderful. They are very thorough and clean up after themselves. They were very honest in scheduling. He gave me a date and they were here. Did the job quickly and were very professional. They were very nice and explained everything.

This is our second experience with this company, and we have been pleased both times. We will use them again when we have electrical issues.

The job took a little over a week. The workers were very professional, respectful, punctual, hard working, and very particular about the quality of work they did. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone they can trust and someone who will do an outstanding job for them. They treat your home like they would treat their own.

CW Electric is a great company. Dave came out for a whole house electrical inspection and was polite, professional, and very knowledgeable. He took the time (about 2 hours) to go around the entire house and check out all of wiring, plugs. switches, and breaker box. He also allowed me to follow him around to explain current code, and address any concerns I had. I am a fairly technical person myself and it was nice to have him explain things I needed fixed and why. These guys are great. I highly recommend using their service if you need electrical work done in the Pittsburgh metro area.

They did a great job and I couldn’t say enough good things about them. They were very friendly and we were very comfortable with them in our home. They were very professional and we have hired them several other times. They even identified problems with our kitchen remodel plans. The outlets were set to be too low and the backsplash would have covered it. They also identified other problems and saved us a lot of money with the remodel. They guarantee their work for two years. I am very happy with the work. They are very easy to work with, professional, and worked around our schedule. I would recommend them to others and hire them again.

Dave was very responsive. He came to give us a bid the day after I called, did a through tour of the property, took careful notes, and explained everything he thought we needed. In addition, he itemized the cost of possible additional choices so we could make the best decision about what we could afford. A 3-man crew arrived exactly on time, and although the job presented some challenges, they got it done in 6 hours, including throughly cleaning up after themselves.

Dave's team came on time on the day we scheduled to have the work done. They were professional and knowledable. Dave came toward the end of the job to walk me through everything and explain the work that had been done. I would recommend them any day.

They were professional and let us know ahead of time what they were going to do and to check with us on what was working. They worked with us to get the city inspector to come to the house sooner so they could get our electric turned on.

I did not have a good experience overall. I do not doubt the expertise of the technicians, but on two separate occasions the technicians left the site without looking at the end result. I am sure they did the work properly, but one instance, a bathroom heater was left on (I probably flipped the switch) and when he flipped the circuit breaker, he left the site. I came inside 45 minutes later to the smell of smoke and a burnt out heater/fan. They said those units were about to expire. The technician also did not appear with the proper tools and could not finish the project, but he tore up a section of our lawn trying. The next week we had another technician appear to finish the job. He did so, once again leaving without putting his eyes on the project to see if the project achieved the function. The wiring was complete, but the pool pump wouldn't work for an entire weekend until I figured out how to synchronize the circuit breaker at the house with the local breaker that is required near water. They did not do anything wrong, but nothing ever seemed complete.

Dave stopped by and took a look at my problem (my breaker was tripping often). He told me that it would be easier (and cheaper) if I replaced my light switches (which I was happy to do) before he started really digging in. He also replaced breaker for free! Great guy - very helpful.

The technician was on time and pleasant, and his inspection was very thorough, including crawl spaces. I was worried that the deal for an inspection would lead to being pressured to have lots of work done, but the technician found only one minor problem and left me an estimate. As far as I can tell, he only missed noticing one frayed wire in one crawl space. Everything was explained clearly. A very good experience.

They were really good. They are very professional, prompt, and dependable. They are very communicative in telling you what you need to know so you can make a decision.

I did not go through with the service because, besides the $75.00 for installation, the electrician was going to charge an additional $75.00 for assembling the ceiling fan itself. Not too good of a promo on this one.

Contacted this company, they were responsive and able to schedule me for an estimate quickly. Dave came out promptly for the appointment and even helped carry a package into the house. Explained to him that there were concerns regarding the knob and tube wiring in the house and lights flickering and dimming as well as losing power on occasion. He did a very thorough inspection of the panel boxes and exposed wires in the basement. Provided very detailed explanations and rationale behind his findings. He concluded that the knob and tube wiring in the basement were inert and had been replaced relatively recently. He did find that the panel box could be grounded, but indicated that was not urgent and could be addressed when the weather warmed up to facilitate the digging. He was very professional and personable. I felt that this is a company that could be trusted not to overcharge or create problems where there were none. I would definitely put this company at the top of my list for any future electrical work.

We had a great experience - the electrician (David) was friendly, professional, prompt, fast, and an expert electrician (he was able to figure out what was wrong in seconds, and was able to replace the switch without us having to switch off power). We had a great experience.

It went really well. The initial visit, which upgraded the box and wired the bathroom, went very well. As we worked on the renovation, though, we noticed several items that needed attention, specifically moving several switches and outlets, and eliminating some old wiring. They were able to come back out quickly and attend to those things, which allowed us to continue on with our work without much of a hiccup. I will definitely use them again! As a side note, the first day of their work was right after a major snowstorm, and later on a neighbor told us that a couple of the workers had helped her shovel out her driveway, and then push her car out to the street. She was incredibly appreciative!
