Description of Work: Thom and Leah performed a variety of tasks at my home, including drywall repairs, removing dry rot and repairing my garage door, hanging a light fixture and replacing a hose bibb/handle. They were prompt, professional and their work was excellent. Thom emailed a detailed estimate after touring the job and we made adjustments as the work was performed. I could'nt be more pleased.

+ 0 moreThomas Crown said he didn't have carpet stretching equipment to install a fragment, but gave me a name of someone who is a professional installer. Even though he didn't do the work for me, he was able to promptly give me the name of a competent replacement to get the job done. It is hard to get a carpet installer, if you're not buying new carpet... (!) I appreciate the reference.
Description of Work: We have an excellent carpet fragment in our basement that I want to use in our son's bedroom, since we are remodeling the basement and will be replacing the floor.

+ -1 moreOur house is a living example of benign neglect. We had had a home office for about ten years, and during that time, were so focused on our business that we paid no attention to the house. Because of that, many things had "gone south" and needed help. We needed someone who could do a little of everything, and according to Thom's reviews on Angie's List, he seemed to fill the bill. He has, and more. He was terrific - excellent at was he does, honest, upfront, a pleasure to work with. If he can't fix something, he will tell you. He tries to fix things rather than urge you to buy new, if that can be done economically; encourages the use of Construction Junction and the Habitat for Humanity store; recycles; cleans up nicely at the end of each day; and generally makes living with repairs more pleasure than pain. I definitely will hire him again and would recommend him to others.
Description of Work: Thom did a variety of things for us ranging from installing shelving, repairing walls, painting, repairing and painting outdoor lighting, replacing mouldings, replacing insulation strip on an outside door, etc.

We paid more than our budgeted amount for work, but felt that his attention to detail, professionalism, and tidiness balanced it all out. We will definitely contact Thomas Crown in the future for our handyman needs.
Description of Work: The work addressed in our condo included the installation of two doors and repair of a pocket door. One of the doors installed already existed, but the other one was found at a resale store to match the decor of our unit. The job required attention to detail and working with wood putty, sanding, priming and painting, in addition to stripping off old paint on the hardware and replacing it back onto the doors.

Description of Work: Crownhandyman came out on the 8th of August this year and gave me an estimate to shave off the bottom of 2 doors, install carpets, put in a new door bell, paint some steps, put up a few blinds, remove the grill off the garage top and open the drains and clean them.

+ -1 moreTom is a pleasure to work with. He has a charm and attitude that made it feel as though my grandfather had come over to help us fix up our house. He had a number of great pieces of advice for us that were beyond the jobs he was doing. We think of Tom as our regular handyman.
Description of Work: Tom has done a number of jobs for us. He reattached a gutter and patched a roof seam that were disturbed in the bad ice storms in 2010; fixed a few bi-fold closet doors that were broken; installed new faucet on a bathroom sink; and removed a number of broken light bulbs from their casings.
