The only thing that went smoothly was the ease of making an appointment to show us the house. As soon as we decided to purchase the house and the papers were signed I felt that anything I was concretely told was incorrect. The process was confusing and having a real estate agent that is giving you wrong information and defensive when you ask for clarification makes the whole process harder than it needs to be. The monetary value of what we spent represents the fees that we were specifically told we would not have to pay. We actually had to go back to the bank after arriving at the closing to get another check. We were told that closing would be "next Tuesday" countless times, but when Tuesday arrived we would not hear anything about when or where. When asked about this, Kim Stotlemyer, the agent would proclaim that she gave us the information that she had at the time. I would have appreciated updated information every week, it was us that had to call on Tuesday to find out that it was not happening that day. When told that she was hard to get a hold of she would respond by saying that she called us many times and would get no answer. This excuse got tiresome since our mobile phones would show missed calls. The obfuscation, defensiveness, and unprofessionalism irked me for the three long months until we were finally able to close.
