Description of Work: I recently moved to Pittsburgh. Both my Dysan sweeper and my Bissell rug shampooer were damaged in the move. Their total replacement value is almost $1000.I took them to Bridges and they were both repaired with excellent service. The Dysan had a belt replaced and the Bissell had several parts on the front replaced that were smashed. Both were thoroughly cleaned. Bridges was very conscientious about keeping the cost as reasonable as possible. These people are VERY nice, and the service was very fast.

Description of Work: Repaired hose to vacuum that had kinked. Not only did they repair it replaced the kinked part with a stronger part that hopefully wouldn't kink) but told me if it didn't hold to bring it back and they would make it good. So far, no problems. I walked in to leave it, they fixed it on the spot and 1/2 hour later I was leaving. Great service for a very fair price.

 + -1 moreExcellent and reasonably priced service! I received a very prompt estimate, and the sweeper had a loose connection. I had the filter replaced also (the filter was $26.00) so the actual repair including the estimate was only $20.00. Decided to splurge and buy the new filter because the service was so reasonably priced. Very friendly people. I dropped off my daughter's Dyson for repair because I was so impressed with the company

Description of Work: After sucking up a shoelace with my trusty canister vacuum, the floor brush portion stopped working. I was able to fish out the errant shoe lace, but further tinkering yielded nothing: the light wouldn't come on and there was no suction. I stopped by Bridges' for some help, and the guy took a quick look, reached into the floor brush, clicked something, and told me it should work. Turns out there's a circuit breaker-like reflex that shuts the brush down if something's caught inside it, preventing that burning smell and dust cloud that usually followed on the heels of sucking up something too big. I felt a little sheepish for not knowing this, but the gentleman refused payment for this quick fix, telling me it was free of charge. So I walked out without a bill and a perfectly working vacuum cleaner. How does it get better than that?

 + -1 moreIt was wonderful. I thought it was just a broken belt, which it turned out to be. However, due to complications, to fix it was more time consuming than originally anticipated. Stephen stuck with it, while Deborah and I chatted and at the end of the day my vacuum was unclogged and so was I !!!!!
Description of Work: I, literally, just showed up at their door asking for help. I had several irons in the fire at the house and my vacuum broke. Just couldn't happen. I went to Bridges, they not only fixed my vacuum cleaner (on the spot so I could take it home) but in the process provided wonderful company and a chance to calm down.

 + -1 moreVacuum cleaner broke while being used. I expected that it would be a considerable time for repairs to be completed, but the estimate and the actual work were completed promptly and several days ahead of the estimated completion date for the repairs.
Description of Work: Vacuum cleaner was left for estimate; estimate was phoned shortly thereafter and work was authorized; repair work was completed several days in advance of estimated completion date. Owner was very customer friendly. Highly recommend this service company. I will return there in future, for any needed repair work.
