Bee Control

I found a nest in an old fireplace in my back yard which looked like an active bee hive, the day before July 4th. I called Bee Control and they sent out Tim to the rescue the next day. He told me that actually it was a Yellow Jacket nest and he could get rid of it that day. He went to his truck, put on his protective gear, got out what looked like a ghostbusters back pack full of insect spray, a plastic lidded bucket and within 5 minutes he got rid of the nest into the bucket and sprayed down the whole area with his back pack bug spray. He then said it would probably take two days for the yellow jackets to disappear, but if they returned that they would come out again to fix the problem. Tim was very pleasant and professional. He wrote out the bill which was very reasonable. The whole experience was so much more pleasant than I would have ever thought. Thank you Tim and Bee Control!

Excellent!! They came and removed the nest within 48 hrs after I contacted them! Steve called right away to set up the appointment and explained the process. And Jeremy came to do the job - he was excellent.

I can say nothing but wonderful things about Bee Control. I phoned on a Sunday, because I had yellow jackets everywhere in my house, I was panicking; and they had someone at my house Monday morning. The gentleman did such a fabulous job. Apparently, I had a huge bees nest underneath the floor and in the wall of my kitchen. He took care of it, and in two days there were no more bees swirling around my entire house! I would highly recommend Bee Control if you’re having any problems with bees. Very fast and courteous service!

The owner and the service provider were very professional and friendly. Sadly, it seems this kind of service is becoming harder to find which makes it so appreciated!

Bee Control was awesome. Since July I’ve had a problem with yellow jackets entering my home. I called two other highly rated exterminators and both told me I would have to find the nest. After much searching (I live in a tall townhouse) I could not find the nest. Both exterminators told me to live with the problem and they would die off in winter. After one day in September coming home to over 30 dead yellow jackets in my home (and live ones), I found Bee Control. Steve called me back right away. Assured me they could find the problem. Shawn (I believe that was the technician’s name) came at scheduled time. He listened to me explain the problem. After about 30 minutes Shawn found the nest. In my skylight in my bedroom ceiling. Drilled a tiny hole and I’m now free of the yellow jackets. I’m going to use their spring prevention program so I never have this problem again. Thank you Steve and Shawn. Any exterminator can kill a nest if you find it. Bee Control finds and eliminates the problem.

It went well. Agent sprayed the inner wall. He also sprayed the outside both front and back to protect against nests for the year.

Bee Control was very responsive. Called Monday afternoon, and was given an appointment Wednesday morning. Chris was running ahead of schedule and called first to make sure arriving early would not be a problem. He removed the entire nest and the yellow jackets have not returned.

wary of this company. What you are told and what you are charged for could be different. I hired them to remove an underground yellow jacket nest and was told that the nest would be dug up. I was very clear about the location of the nest near my air conditioner and was told that area was "as common as common can be". When the tech came to perform the service, they dug around the nest just enough to ruin the grass but ultimately did not remove the it as I was told. Only insecticide was used and it did not work because the nest was very deep. The nest remained active for over a week and I had to purchase insecticide and apply it myself. I called the company and expressed my concern about the nest remaining but was given differing explanations than when I first called. I find out later that someone from this company entered my property once again without my knowledge or authorization to dig up the nest (as they were supposed to originally). I found out this out because of the chunks of yellow jacket nest left all over the location. Never received a call or an explanation. Moreover, they left rocks, chunks of grass, and dirt all over the area. Not to mention the gaping hole where the nest was - the work was unprofessional and lazy. If you are paying a company $250 to remove a nest, they should take care of it from beginning to end. Choose another company.

We noticed a bee or two in the house, once a week for the last couple weeks. This morning, I had killed 4 before breakfast. By lunch I had killed 15. Looking around outside, there was a bunch of yellow jacket activity where our brick meets the siding - a nest. I called and Steve answered immediately, and we talked about the problem and the speculated solution. He explained it was Friday afternoon, and all his guys were done in my area and now in the south of Pittsburgh - he was very apologetic that he could not get here today. He asked if I could make Saturday afternoon work, if not Monday. I explained that I could, but I was worried because both my wife and I are allergic and were worried that our 8 year old son might be as well. He didn't even hesitate and immediately said he would close the shop down, and come out himself within two hours. He showed in 45 minutes! Incredibly nice and professional! Even wore booties in the house when I told him it wasn't necessary. He said, "Company policy. Even the owner must follow the rules!" He started inside the house first - drilled several tiny 1/8" holes in the effected wall, and sprayed poison in there. Then went outside, up on a ladder (among a swarm of angry yellow jackets) and proceeded the treatment there; on, around, and under the siding. This process was repeated both inside and outside several times. Can't say enough about someone that takes your worries and concerns seriously, and goes out of their way to help you and your family! I would hire him back in a heartbeat!

I have no point of reference for cost or performance of this service vs another company performing a similar function. However, whatever this company did seemed to work very well. We have 2 small children and our home historically has a wasp problem every summer. We are always worried about the boys getting stung, which has happened in previous summers, but now we only rarely see a wasp. It's actually pretty amazing. we'll definitely consider it next summer as well. They were also friendly, punctual, explained the process thoroughly (even though I'm a little gray on details at this point), and we will consider them again next year.

I called Bee Control on a Friday afternoon and explained my issue. They had someone come out within a couple hours of my call, which was great because I was having a family gathering outdoors the next day and was concerned about all of the yellow jackets flying around. He was personable and explained to me everything that he felt he needed to do to remedy the problem, and how much it would cost. He completed the work and answered any questions I had regarding what was done. Haven't seen any more yellow jackets since. Would definitely use again.

We are not having any more issues with the bees. He even told us if there are any more bees, he would come out for free in the next six months. We would use him again.

Great. Used them three years. Last year (2015) a yellow jacket nest popped up later in the summer and they took care of it with no extra charge :)

It went very well.. There was one wall nest that was a little more effort, short of taking that wall down they couldn't take the nest but it got resolved... The many ground nests, one required removing a 2 foot cube of yard to get it all, that was massive. But most don't require that extreme... But when it does, these guys can handle it. Each trip was about $180 if I remember correctly... Well worth it, I don't get stung, I don't risk blowing my house up with gas or other means... Yes this was way safer.... We seem to have quite a few nests each year...

Very well. We have been using them for several years, as we seem to get hives every year . They have always been responsive, and work is great. Definitely recommend them.

Yellow jacket nest was destroyed and the colony never reformed.
