Meh.
Description of Work: Our large retaining wall collapsed and had to be rebuilt. It was a huge project, and even though the contractor exceeded his estimate by $2,800, the work was completed and appears to be quality work. The estimate given for this job was $12,500, and while I was not happy that it was exceeded, I was glad that the contractor continued to show up and actually finish all the work. He would sometimes go for DAYS without returning phone calls and I was constantly in a state of panic that the work wouldn't be completed, but in the end, it WAS completed; although it took about 3 weeks longer than what I was told at the start of the project. The MAJOR PROBLEM with the work is this: The retaining wall which was being replaced defined my property line. The retaining wall which was built by Beast Concrete sits about 6 inches on my neighbor's property. I ended up having to hire an attorney $500 to draw up a licensing agreement so we do not have to move the wall. Thank goodness my neighbors are reasonable people. Due to my living 500 miles away from the property, I was unable to supervise the proper placement of the wall.

We signed a contract with Beast Concrete on 8/2/11 to install a stamped concrete patio in our backyard. The total project was to cost $12K+. The terms were $4K to start, $4K after prep and the balance at the end of the project. We checked their references and although they did not do stamped concrete, the references were positive. Although their website says that they take credit cards, they do not, so we wrote them a check. They spent one week digging out the yard and hauling most, not all of the dirt away and laying out the form. They completed most of the prep that involved digging out the yard and framing the area for the concrete. Per our agreement, at the end of the week we gave them an additional $4K. They never returned to finish the prep and would not return repeated phone calls.
Description of Work: Beast Concrete was contracted to install a stamped concrete patio in our backyard that would take 10 days - 2 weeks max. It involved digging out the yard and hauling the dirt away, laying out the form, preparing the surface, pouring the concrete, stamping it, clean up including restoring remaining yard to original. They completed the prep that involved digging out the yard and framing the area.
