Arendosh Heating and Cooling

It went very well. The crew members were very professional, quiet, they cleaned up afer they were done and communicated everything to me as well as gave me training on the new system. I originally had 3 estimates for the project. I had more expensive quotes and cheaper. But Rocco Onoroto was the person who came out to provide a free estimate, gave me a few options, explained things well and really consulted me on a basis regarding my needs and what would be best. He's easy to get along with and follows thru. The team members who came out for the project (and did excellent work) were Dan, Brandon, Rob, Chalmers, and Travis. Excellent work, courteous, and so far I am loving the system. Rocco called and said he would be back in a couple of weeks for further follow up. I recommend them.

Will never use this company again. Arendosh attempted to charge me nearly $700 for a $139 furnace circuit board. I had them out a few times for cleanings prior to this and didn’t have any issues, so I went back when my furnace circuit board burned out. The tech was okay, but the in-office customer service was terrible. The girl in the office told the tech they’d call him back with the price in a few minutes. Tech was here for 20 mins and I told him he could just have them call me directly so that he could leave. I waited until 4pm and finally called their office. The girl told me the part would cost me another $500 on top of the $150 service call fee that I had paid the tech! I agreed and was told the part would be in on Thurs. I waited all day Thurs and finally called the office at 3pm. The girl in the office said there was a delay with the part and it wouldn’t arrive, now, until the following Monday or Tuesday. That’s when I called another HVAC company. The other company, John’s Heating in Freeport, charged me less than $200 for the part and installation. Why do this to people? An honest business with a modest upcharge and repeat customers seems to make a lot more sense.

Service tech was prompt and friendly for the Central Unit inspection. He upsold me on the fall furnace inspection. They proactively called me in the fall to schedule, I called back a week later and they scheduled a day and time that was convenient for me. The same tech arrive, was friendly and thorough.

Very professional, helpful, explained everything very well. I bought an annual service agreement. I like these guys and will call again.

I've used them for years. I have a policy with them that they come twice a year. Once to check my furnace and once to test my AC. I can't say enough about Arendosh. They are AAAA+ all they way. They installed my AC and furnace. They're the best. They are unbelievable. Anybody in the area that needs AC and furnace, they're the ones to use. They know what they're doing. AC and furnace is a big expense and, for a woman, I have never even opened my furnace. Like I said, I'm selling my home and they did the home inspection and the guy that is buying it was so impressed with my furnace. He said, "Look, you don't even have a cobweb in here." and I'm like, "Well, it's not me. I've never even looked in it!" They're great! Their office staff is tremendous! I mean, they send you out a thing in the mail saying, "It's time for your inspection. Call us to schedule an appointment." Because, you know, this is all crap you would forget. Who remembers this stuff? Highly recommend them. I would recommend Arendosh to anyone.

After hiring them to install a furnace a few years prior I was happy with the outcome so I trusted they would do a good job. The quoted price seemed fair ($2700) for what I thought would be a high end system (boy was I wrong). I try not to micro-manage anyone so I let the techs go about their work. When I saw the finished installation I noted that the unit was set too low and thought it should have been elevated. As it sits mud and weeds need to be cleared periodically. As far as cooling, it did the job the first year but each succeeding year it got worse and was not able to cool the house, even though I had it serviced regularly. Finally after 4 years the service tech said the charge was low and would require a leak test. They used a dye and came back a week later to read the result - leaking coil. I found out that Lennox has had problems with coils, there is even a class-action suit. Since the part was still in warranty I could get a new Lennox coil but would have to cover the labor. The bottom line is that the recharge, testing and coil install cost around $1200 and I still have a Lennox coil that may fail. In addition, the unit is barely able to keep the house cool on the hottest days, they say it is better to have a smaller unit that runs often on the hottest days than a larger unit that would cycle off and on. I had it checked one more time and was told all is well. The tech suggested I install a small window unit in my warmest room to help on the hot days. I took his advice and it does help[ but next time I replace the A/C I will upsize. Lesson learned.

They came exactly when they promised, installed the new A/C, humidifier, and expansion unit on the water heater, plus cleaned up & made sure everything worked. They also had to rebuild the whole area where the A/C unit was going to sit since the new unit was larger than the old one. Did a great job.

When I call them, if I have a problem, they come out. They seem to be available 24/7 and that is what I like because in the winter if you need service, and you need it on the weekend even if the company is closed.

The tech showed up early and was done quickly. Cleaned up any mess. Left work area clean.

They send us notices so we know when its time for a check up. We've used them for years. They clean up after themselves. You can't tell they were even here.

They installed it in a couple days and there were more then one guy. I think about three guys.

The price was good. It was the first major thing I bought for my new house and they made me feel comfortable. I did check around and they were the most professional and they explained the most to me to make sure I know what I was getting.

They have a thing where you get a discount if you pay for the winter and the air conditioning thing at one time. I kept using them a couple of times and I got burnt.

My air conditioner stopped working; and I called Arendosh Heating & Cooling because they had installed the air conditioner several years earlier. An immediate appointment was scheduled. The technician arrived promptly and examined the unit for over an hour. After his inspection, the technician reported that the air conditioning unit was working properly, but the furnace was malfunctioning because of mother board issues. This was definitely not the report that I had hoped for. The technician provided me with two alternatives: a) replace the furnace parts, which would be over $1,500 or b) replace the furnace. Additionally, he provided me with a detailed comparison of the prices and features of several furnace manufacturers. This information was very helpful. Moreover, I was informed that the service cost would be waived if I did purchase a new furnace. After weighing both alternatives, we decided to purchase a new furnace. I contacted Arendosh and an appointment was scheduled. Two technicians arrived promptly on 5/18/16 to install the new furnace and air cleaner. The installation ran smoothly and lasted for most of the day. I was very impressed with the two technicians. They were professional, personable, and diligent. In addition, they shared important information and tips, answered all questions, modeled how certain functions should be completed, and removed all debris, which was especially appreciated. Additionally, kudos are extended to the office manager whom I spoke to numerous times. She exhibited world-class customer service by providing customers with excellent attention, positive communication, and detailed information regarding products and services. In conclusion, I feel Arendosh Heating & Cooling provides excellent service and I definitely will utilize their services in the future.

We have two furnaces - an older one that serves a smaller portion of the house and a newer one. The technician serviced the newer one and that was fine. He looked at the older one and told me I needed to have it replaced because of heavy corrosion and because parts were impossible to find. At the time of the service the furnace was not working. Even though he did not clean the second furnace, he still charged me $90 to "diagnose" the problem. I called a second company to come out and give me a second opinion. The second technician applied a little oil to one part and it started right up. I gave him the list of issues that Arendosh gave me and he went over all of them, but was unable to find the same problems. The second technician literally told me that Arendosh made up the problems and was just trying to sell me a new furnace, because mine was old. I am very disappointed to learn that Arendosh is not a trustworthy company.

The unit was running warm and the house was not getting cool. I got Arendosh recommendation from a friend. I called and realized I had the cover on but since we had set the appointment, I decided to keep it and have them out to clean up on the unit, because before it was working fine. Jerry came out and did a really quick clean. He said he was going to clean it, but when I went out to check the unit was still dirty. The dirt was still dry on one side of the machine; it was still filthy and full of leaves and dirt. . So I asked exactly what I did and he had a deer in the head lights look like, oh no I busted. So I helped clean the rest to the machine. I asked for a receipt when he was finished, and he said they would have to send one from the office. The guy said the system was great and all my levels were fine, a okay . He told me to keep the unit on cool that night, not on auto, but the house got warm that night. I called them back the next day to let the know the system was no longer running right. They sent Jerry back out and said I now needed to get a compressor. I asked for the owner to call me but he never would. I feel like they tampered with my machine and were giving me the run around. The repair man came out and cut corners. It took them four days to send me a receipt after I gave them three calls. And to date I still have not received a call from the owner.

On 11/21/12 Domenic came out to inspect the furnace. The furnace was the original one put in the house and was 28 years old. Domenic showed me that the heat exchange was cracked and said he was required to turn off the furnace. I immediately called the office and started working with Jill to find a new heating and cooling system. Jill was very helpful during my search for the system I wanted. There was never a high sales pitch for any particular system. Jill only answered my questions and provided me with information that helped me make my decision. On 11/30/12 the furnace was installed. Two installers worked most of the day installing the furnace. Both installers were very polite and went about doing their job in a professional manner. At the end of the day, they worked out a time with me to return to install the central air system. On 12/5/12 the air system was installed in the same professional manner. The furnace is working great. The weather has not been warm enough to turn on the air however I am looking forward to using it soon. I highly recommend this company for all heating and cooling needs.

I had a problem with the pilot light on the previous furnace and called Arendosh to resolve it. They fixed the problem and also noted some potential problems with the furnace and provided estimates for new ones. The estimates they provided seemed slightly better than estimates I received earlier from a competitor. I decided to get the entire furnace replaced. (The cost of the initial service was deducted from the cost of the new furnace installation.) The two technicians who installed it seemed very competent and it appears that the work was done carefully and properly. The only thing negative I could say is that I did not receive a confirmation call the day before the service and so I didn't know what time to expect the technicians, but I may have just missed the call.

Our A/C went out on one of the hottest days of the year. Of course, it was a Friday night, so we knew we'd incur an extra service fee. But at that point we didn't care. And we wanted to contact the company that originally installed the A/C unit. They said that they would be an hour. 2 hours later we called them again and they informed us they wouldn't be available until the next day due to their volume of calls and limited after hours staff. We understood, but wished they had contacted us rather then us having to call them. The next day, a service guy called asking us when would be a good time. We let him know and he readjusted his schedule for us. When he got there, he got right to the problem (which took 1/2 an hour) and fixed it. He charged us extra for the weekend, but discounted the service $25 for our trouble of needing to wait the extra day. He was very friendly too. We would A/C unti went outdefinitely use them again.

2 days to complete the job. Overall pretty happy with products that were installed. Some dirt and construction materials left behind but nothing that I couldn't live with cleaning up myself.

The guy actually told me what it would cost them to fix it, and then kind of pointed me in the direction of fixing it myself. It was a lot simpler for me to run to the store and pick up the piece to fix. He did have to charge for diagnosis. Service is good.

Arendosh came out twice for this same issue. The first trip set me back $300 and did not fix the problem. Despite the fact that they didn't fix the problem the first time, Arendosh tried to charge me ANOTHER $150 just for coming out to NOT FIX the problem a second time! Here are the details: Near the end of December or early January, my heat pump stopped working. Whenever the thermostat would trigger the system to come on, nothing would happen and my thermostat would and quot;resetand quot;. Finally one day a fuse blew and I had no power to the thermostat at all. An Arendosh repairman came out to troubleshoot the problem. Right from the beginning, he seemed baffled by the system. He eventually found the blown fuse and replaced it, but the heat pump was still not coming on. After over an hour of trying to diagnose the problem, he said something to the effect of: and quot;maybe it's the thermostatand quot;. It struck me as odd that a professional was so uncertain about the diagnosis, but I took his word for it. He did not have a wire-powered thermostat in his truck (they were all battery-powered), so I told him I would just order the original factory raplacement on the internet and install it myself. He charged me $150 for the visit: $70 and quot;travel chargeand quot; and $80 and quot;diagnosis chargeand quot;. Another $150 and a week later and I had a new thermostat installed which did exactly the same thing as the old one. It was winter, and our system had an emergency heat feature which we used until the Spring. When it started to become hotter, we needed the heat pump for AC. We called them out again to finally fix the problem. I assumed since they hadn't fixed the problem originally, they would not charge me another service visit charge (wrong of course). Again the technician (a different one) looked bewildered by the system. After 2 hours he came down scratching his head and quot;It must be that board needs replaced. Since we don't usually deal with Carrier (the brand name of our system) stuff, we don't have it in the truck. We'll have to order that for you.and quot; 2 weeks and a brief heat wave later, and I called them and told them to cancel the board order (it was on backorder). Instead I called another company who used authorized Carrier technicians. They came out a few days later and fixed the problem in less than an hour for $150. Needless to say the and quot;boardand quot; was not the problem, it was a very standard issue with my system, a worn-out contact. 2 weeks later I received another bill from Arendosh for $150...which I won't be paying. They should reimburse me for the $300 I wasted on their incompetent diagnoses. Morals of the story: (1) Use a certified technician for your system, and (2) don't use Arendosh.

The service was excellent! They were on time and did a complete clean up. We called them back for one issue, but they were back that same day and we have had no problems since. The furnace has done exactly as they said, which is that it is efficient and cost effective. We have already saved 5.2 MCF from last year to this year in our March billing. We didn't pick the lowest price, but we opted for quality. I didn't get the feeling that they were pushing anything on to us, like other companies were doing. We would recommend them.
