American Buyers Custom Window Coverings

The men who came to my home were both very professional and knew their product very well. I had purchased one of Angie's deals - $500. worth of Hunter Douglas product for $199.00. The product and service were both good. Where I have an issue is the pricing - and perhaps that is my fault for not doing more research before I purchased the deal! I wanted to replace 3 (very narrow - 20") silhouette shades in my bay window. I knew they were expensive, but I figured I would save $300 and it would be worth it. The estimate to replace the 3 shades I wanted was over $800.00 - in addition to the $200.00 I had already paid! I ended up replacing all 5 blinds in the bay window with wood - even though it what was not really what I wanted, because I had already invested $200. I think I could have purchased the silhouette shades I wanted elsewhere at a better price. Soo - I cannot really fault the company. I just want to caution others to do their homework before purchasing a deal - just make sure you can get what you want at the best price.

Jeff was very thorough during the insulation. He talked about the products and their LIFETIME guarantee! He explains everything that is doing or can work quietly. He is very efficient. He is the consummate Salesman in the most positive way. He was an absolute delight. And if that wasn't enough, he ends the visit with a warm chocolate chip cookie! YUMMY! I will definitely use him again when I renovate my She Cave!

Jeff was here on May 30 taking measurements and writing up the order. He is very nice and personable, polite and knowledgeable. He told me that turnaround from order to installation could be as fast as one week or as long as three weeks. Near the end of June I began calling and emailing to get status reports. When the blinds finally arrived, installation could not be scheduled until July 12. When Mike (the installer) opened the boxes he discovered the lengths were wrong on both sets of blinds. He sent them back to be redone and after more calls and emaiIs the installation was rescheduled for August 9. Mike (a very nice and professional man, by the way) opened the first box and installed the blind. Upon opening the second box, however, it was discovered that the hardware had been omitted. So, again, an order was placed for the remaining hardware and the final blind was installed on August 27. I am pleased with the blinds. The quality is good and they look nice. Jeff couldn't have been nicer. Mike was the essence of professionalism. The entire experience, however, was frustrating. I have trouble figuring how two blinds could require a process of almost 3 months from order to installation. It took many calls and emails on my part to get any response to the delays. I do not plan to use the services of American Buyers Discount again.

It was excellent. Jeff was the name of the guy that came and measured and the blinds came in very quickly. We ordered them and I think they were in after about a week and a half. We scheduled them to come out and install at our convenience an everything was perfect. There was one minor problem with the arched blind but he came back and took a look at it and brought a representative with them. I would recommend them. They were a little more expensive but they seem to be worth it. I've already recommended them to my sister.

They look great! They were on time and did a good job. They were very friendly!

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. They saved us about $2000 compared with others offering identical services. A delight to do business with this company.

Wow. A true professional. He came to our home fairly soon after contacting him and talked to us first about what we wanted. He gave great advice and recommended several different styles/designs based on feedback from my wife. Good quality shades can be pricey but it was a great investment in our home and we can not be happier. His assistant followed up to do the installation and you can tell he could do the install in his sleep - perfect. Jeff was also very good about providing paperwork for rebates for energy rebats as well as rebate info on a gift card back from Hunter Douglas which both brought the price down from what I quoted here. He was personable, professional and in an age of people not returning calls, hiding behind emails, etc.. his in-home service is sorely needed in a lot of services these days.

I had purchased the Big Deal Offer and it was good. I was happy with it. They provided us with high quality work. I thought that their price was fair.

My order was backordered because I ordered blinds in colors and they didn't have it in stock. However, they did deliver fairly quickly. Jeff and I decided on a new installation date so all blinds could be installed on the same day. It didn't work out that way though because Hunter-Douglas did not include three of my blinds in the order. We don't know why - Jeff is investigating. He did install what we had available though - and they are beautiful blinds. The best I've ever had.

It was excellent. The guy was very efficient and knew his business. He was able to make recommendations that worked for us and I was just all the way around pleased with his service. He's knowledgeable, experienced, and it felt like he was very confident. We have a ton of stuff that we need to do and I will definitely call him. He was responsive and did great work installing it. I thought it was good quality stuff. I wasn't shocked about the price, but I wasn't really impressed either. I didn't care about the price and just wanted the quality.

This is the second time I have worked with Jeff. Jeff is professional and very personable. I contacted him a few days after I got the BIg Deal. He came out today. Since this is the second set of shades, I knew what I wanted. Jeff immediately got to work and measured the windows. After he filled out the order form he went over it in detail with me, which really helped because I had failed to mention that I wanted black-out shades for two of my windows. It saved in any future disappointment. The shades should arrive soon and Jeff will come and install them. That is great service! Also, since I am relatively new to the Pittsburgh area he has given me tons of ideas on things to do.

It was nice. In terms of price, I didn’t look elsewhere so I don’t know how to compare. It was a very good service.

He came and installed the blinds. I would recommend them. Jeff was very personable, professional, he was willing to talk about why he does not have a store front, the fact that he does go out to the clients, and I have already recommended him. We can give him a call if we have any questions.

It was a positive experience working with the owner/installer. He was very friendly and outgoing. He really knew his stuff. He was there when he said he was going to be there. He came out twice, once and look at the windows, and then to come back and install. I would recommended them to others. I am very pleased with the quality.

They were very prompt with getting back to me. I purchased some shutters and they were installed beautifully. The service was great. They were prompt. They were on time, very efficient and it was a very good experience.

The next potential provider, Nest Expressions showed the same product, Hunter Douglas but a higher end design, Duette Architella which I liked better. The following day I called Jeff of American Blind and advised him of my new interest and asked for a price. He called back a few hours later with a new price for the 6 shades, one of which was a double window. He was a couple hundred dollars less so we opted to go with him. He set a date for the instillation a week later & arrived on time. He completed all but one blind as he had the wrong hardware for that one. He returned a few days later and completed the 6th instillation. He was very knowledgeable about the product, professional in his interactions and arrived when and at the time agreed upon. He was also willing to be competitive in his pricing.

I appreciated that some of the more affordable options were presented first. I knew what I wanted though so Jeff helped me choose the most affordable option in the style I chose and preferred. Punctual for both appointments; he even Installed the blinds alone and was done in 40 minutes. I didn't realize he was a one-man show until the day he installed the blinds. He is great if you could use recommendations, he's punctual, and he does quality work in minimal time. I posted a picture of my room on Facebook and received several compliments including "it looks like a bed and breakfast; book my reservation." I'm very pleased with my experience and plan to get my other bedroom completed in the near future.

Jeff was very personable and professional. He presented his product with enthusiasm an a great deal of knowledge. There was a problem with our original selection and so he upgraded us at no additional cost. We love our new blinds and will definitely call him in for future window blinds.

Everything went very well. Jeff knows his product lines and what will work in the room. He offered suggestions in various price ranges. When he returned to install, he did so with no mess and no fuss, worked quickly, and was unobtrusive. The window treatments are as beautiful as he said they would be. We're very pleased. The shades are Hunter Douglas, so not inexpensive, but worth every penny. Expect to take a little time looking at the samples and discussing your needs and wishes. Jeff is perfectly willing to show you all the samples you wish to see, listen to your ideas, and make suggestions. Overall a very positive experience.

Came out and measured. Reviewed product choices with me. Gave his recommendations. Installed a couple of weeks later. Everything is perfect and looks great. Jeffrey was efficient and professional.

Jeff was responsive to my scheduling calls and the appointment was scheduled very shortly after initial contact. Jeff arrived on time and was very helpful in assisting in the selection of blinds to install in the room. The blinds showed up with one of the four being wrong. Jeff installed them very quickly and said he would be back to replace the one that was wrong. The replacement came in and Jeff returned to complete the installation. Jeff was careful in his work and cleaned up after himself. I would call Jeff again for any future needs.

The product came in during a week, that was good and the installation was quick and efficient.
