Always Open Locksmith

Benjamin was excellent! I called on Tuesday (non-emergency) and he scheduled to come out on Thursday morning. He finished with a previous appointment early and called to see if he could come by earlier...great for me. When he came to the door he introduced himself and presented his business card. I really appreciated the introduction and the call to let me know he was on his way. He was very professional and a genuinely pleasant person. He fixed the problem and happily explained the process and the workings of my old lock. I'm sure this lock will now last another 80 years but I'll definitely have Benjamin out whenever some other lock in my home needs repair. I highly recommend this provider.

I believed the entire lockset would have to be replaced and called Always Open Locksmith. I called them late in the day on Saturday and they showed up, as promised, early Sunday. They were able to replace just the lock cylinder, leaving the rest of this vintage lockset in tact. Not only did they do the work quickly, but they had old cylinders on hand and were able to match the style and finish of the lockset so that it appeared to be completely original. I was extremely pleased that they were able to restore the lockset and save me the expense and trouble of replacing a vintage entrance door lock with an expensive reproduction. I will most definitely call them for service on any other door locks.

Great experience. Dispatcher said it would be 45 minutes, which was more than reasonable, but Dave was called and was there in about 15 minutes. Dave was able to open it in 10 minutes, despite working in temperatures in near freezing. Very courteous and professional. Reasonable price. A great alternative to AAA, which was not answering calls.

Benjamin answered the phone on the first try. I told him that I read good reviews about him on Angie's List. We both laughed when he said that it then must be true!!! I am happy to tell you that it is true. Benjamin scheduled an appointment promptly, showed up, did the work in a timely manner and was pleasant and professional during the entire appointment. At the end, I asked him his opinion about the old practice of hiding a key outside in the unfortunate case of a lock out. He gave me a good home made solution, but then showed me a lock box that could be installed onto the brick wall of my home. Things went well, so I will probably bring Benjamin back to install that box. I think it is just great that he will come out at any time to bail out a customer who might be in trouble with lock outs at all times. Got a new house so I wanted keys changed. Contacted Always Open Locksmith to schedule a non emergency appointment. Benjamin from Always Open Locksmith came on time and did quick work of the changes. Very pleasant and did the work as I expected and within the parameters of the quoted price (I added more work than what I asked, but he had already given me an estimate per lock). Will definitely keep in mind for any future work that requires a locksmith.

Over the phone he was able to make a good guess about what our problem was, and he was extremely accommodating regarding scheduling, even offering to come that same day for a non-emergency situation. Ben, was very courteous, professional, and punctual. I am the type to always ask questions to better my knowledge. He answered all of my questions and provided a lot of insight into why this problem occurred. I called 20 different locksmiths they either didn't call back or they were a scam. I would call a Pittsburgh Area Code and get a return call from a California Area code. Don't use anyone else but Ben!!!!!

My key broke off in my front door lock at 10pm on a Sunday and Benjamin was here within 30 minutes to fix it. Very nice guy, extremely professional, would definitely call him again if I have any locksmith needs and will absolutely recommend him to friends, family and neighbors. My wife and I were setting up my Mother in a new home. All was new to us and we had just closed. We wanted her to be safe, so we needed to have locks rekeyed and new keys made. I searched yellow pages first, then googled locksmiths - lots of names like handyman services, a few companies but across the city from us and the numbers our realtor gave us rang to a 'no longer in service message'. I have to honestly say it was then and not at first I remembered we had an Angie's List membership - but in NJ and FL, I paid the additional $20 to have Pittsburgh added just for this search so I could be sure Mom was in good hands. I found 2 or 3, and then I went to their websites if they had them - Ben Did, Always Open Locksmiths. Ben himself answered. He has 10+ years in the business, it shows in his knowledge, work and tableside manner - Ben showed up, not a Jr person or someone else. The entire operation is mobile - if you need multiple extra keys for a new property you move into, it is done and done right (many times I have taken keys to the hardware for multiple properties we manage and many times the keys are 'sticky' (you have to jiggle and play around with them in the lock to make it work) or they simply don't work and you have to make another trip. In this case, all rekeyed, smooth operation as if it were the master. Ben did some extra work for us we didn't specify when he came and did so gladly - he also educated us on how to use - it was a lock box (some call it a Knox Box, this one was a simliar idea made by Kidde for the FD/PD/EMT to be able to access a home and not break the down the door in an emergency). He mounted it solidly then educated us on how to use. Ben was very professional and took his operation very seriously, he viewed it part of his service not just to install the locks and keys but to educate you on how to operate so we were comfortable by the time he left. He did an excellent job - he worked swiftly but with care, cleaned up after. We truly, highly recommend this service. Well done.

Benjamin was on time, courteous and professional. The overall time it took for him to replace both locks was roughly around a half hour which I felt was pretty quick. He did not leave any kind of a mess and was very helpful by providing us with advice on one of the doors that he replaced a lock on. He was friendly and exceeded all expectations so I would definitley recommend his services.
